Liked the private little sand beach right on the cliffs, however, the resort does not maintain it so guests could use it. Would’ve been nice to see it raked each morning.

Stayed for 1 night because I had to go to Kingston the next day. However what I loved about Spa retreat, some of the rooms are not attached to each other. Its like a mini cabin villa. My room (Sea 3) was directly facing the pool and the ocean. Overall coming back again. Only thing ahod have more options for breakfast like add french toast to the menu.

It was a relaxing environment the staff was very attentive the food was great only con was the size of the pool but the breathtaking view of the ocean from the cliffs made up for it.

Amazing!

This retreat is EVERYTHING! Me and my husband stayed here for one night and our biggest regret was not booking this longer! We stayed here to check out Negril and the service here is beyond amazing! Shane is the owner -he introduced himself and realized he’s a fellow Canadian - right off the bat the staff were informative and very personable! The food at the blueMahoe is incredible- try the jerk fish tacos!!! The massages were so relaxing! Our stay was short but it was the best part of the trip! The views are incredible as well- better then ricks cafe! I also loved that if we went out at night we had hotel cellphones to keep in contact with the Sam taxi driver that dropped us off- it was so convenient! Amazing amazing amazing stay! We will be staying here at our next visit to Jamaica! Thank you Spa retreat for the wonderful short stay!

Great stay!

Great food, location, ambiance and staff- a wonderful vacation getaway. Not a fan of the hotel dogs after seeing one nip playfully at another guest while she was snorkelling until she got out of the water.

Relaxing Resort with great snorkeling

I can't say enough about this resort. Rooms were amazing, food excellent, staff spectacular! It was low season so we were upgraded at no cost to a seaside room. It was beautiful, very comfortable bed and very private. The snorkeling right at the resort (just jump in from the cliff or there are ladders as well) was some of the best I have done. If I had to say anything negative about it, it would be that the pool deck/loungers could use better shade. They do have some umbrellas as well as tent style awning covers but they don't allow any airflow so get a bit stuffy. Would probably be better with all umbrellas.

Best hotel in Negril!

We have stayed in other places in Negril but chose Spa Retreat for our honeymoon because we had heard so many great things. This place is incredible! The location on the cliffs is perfect but still only a short distance from 7-mile beach. If you are considering staying right on the beach.... don't! The cliffs are way more secluded and private. We would still walk to and visit the beach every second day but loved having our little hideaway far from the throngs of tourists and harassment from local vendors. The staff here is the best! We never had to think about having a drink for more than 5 seconds before one was in our hand. Say hi to Shane, Rosa and Dwayne, they always made sure we were happy and having a great time. Also, the food in the restaurant was probably the best we had in Jamaica. Tons to choose from whether you want local flavour or a taste from home.

An elegant and refined getaway

If you are looking for a warm atmosphere, privacy and elegance, the Spa Negril has it all. From the outstanding service of the staff, the beautiful layout and location of the place to the food and rooms, everything contributes to a unique getaway experience. The only downside is the nocturnal noise from neighbouring clubs which, once in a while, disturbs the peacefulness of the place. Otherwise, it`s a truly sublime find. Thank you to Christine and Shane who went out of their way to make us comfortable in every way possible, including sending a forgotten cell phone back home. Enjoy your vacation!

Exceeded all of our expectations!

We just returned from an amazing 5 night stay at the SPA Retreat in Negril. From the moment you are picked up at Montego Bay Airport and greeted with an ice cold red stripe, you know you are in for a relaxing trip. The resort itself is beautiful, with a stunning view and well-maintained facilities. The saltwater pool provides a nice retreat for those who are not as comfortable in the ocean. Also, the resort is small enough that you never have to worry about getting a beach chair, or finding a table at the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, it is hands down the best fine dining experience we had in Negril. The drinks served at the bar also surpassed any others that we had outside of the resort. Finally, the rooms themselves are beautifully laid out and spacious (we were in a rooftop cottage). Though we did not have a direct view of the ocean (as advertised on the website), we still enjoyed sitting out on our balcony and having a nice blue mountain coffee in the morning. The only complaint I would have is that we often had ants crawling around in our bathroom. While this certainly can't be avoided in tropical venues, it did detract from the overall cleanliness of the suite. All in all I would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling to Negril - and look forward to returning again on our next trip!

If you’re seeking peace, serenity, and amazing sunsets while dining, “ The Spa Retreat” is the place for you! The grounds are lush with plenty of greenery and flowers. The cottages ( Sea View) are quaint, cozy, comfortable, and relaxing. Listening to the waves, while watching the “Seaview” from the patio is the icing on the cake. The food and drinks are not included, but are reasonable priced and absolutely delicious!! The staff are friendly and very accommodating. I WILL return, often! I LOVE this place!

The property and views were lovely. However this place is definitely not worth what they’re charging. I would say it’s worth maybe $150 a night. Also, service in restaurant is painfully slow and the menu is not at all impressive. I had breakfast one morning and I assumed coffee refills were free as they normally are when you have coffee anywhere else. She did not inform me they weren’t and I she charged $10 for coffee!! I complained that she should have told me and she didn’t even care. I was excited too about snorkeling as they told me they have snorkel gear for guests. The day I wanted to go I was told they don’t have any fins :( The rooms are nice but a little outdated and again they are nothing special. The bartender Ricardo was very nice though I will say that. I won’t stay here again if I were to go back to Negril and wanted to stay on the cliffs I would go to Rockhouse which is an amazing hotel and where I wanted to go before booking at the Spa retreat.
