This property is not upscale by any means. Our one bedroom was dirty, smelly, worn out, and the shower covered in mould. The bed linens are nice but the bed was completely worn out. The carpet was filthy, and the place smelled of bodily dirt. The kitchen amenities are sparse and of poor quality. There are two pubs nearby which are quite noisy. The building is not wheelchair accessible and there are no wheelchair accessible units. I usually don’t write bad reviews but I would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. The management wouldn’t respond to any of my communications.

Have had a few previous stays here, and enjoyed it. But the property is showing its age, and service standards gone down. A major issue was the total lack of air movement in the hot, stuffy apartment - it was sweltering. Staff did bring electric fans, but SACO needs to update these flats! They also should revise the policy of garbage pick-up/cleaning only once a week. In warm weather, leaving food garbage for 5-6 days is not okay. During my stay, the lifts also were offline for 2-days - and clients (paying $$$ for their stay) had no assistance to carry luggage up many flights of stairs (I saw one couple had large suitcases to haul to the 5th floor). The location is excellent, and points to the weekend staff who did try to help.. but the value for money from SACO has diminished at this location. Install air systems, please!

Everything was great except the property has NO air conditioning at all… and when it’s 30°C in London with no AC, none of us could sleep…. Add to that the jet lag flying from Western Canada, and it makes for a pretty crappy 5 nights in London with hardly any sleep. It was SO hot in the apartment, none of our family of 5 could really sleep… they did provide us with some fans, but they hardly helped as they’re not great fans to start with. Thank goodness we left London 3 days before 38° C temps on 18 and 19 July…. Other than that, the property was in a GREAT location and the general unit was VERY nice - JUST needed to have AC. But that made the entire stay there uncomfortable. I’m sure in cool weather, it’s the perfect place to stay!!!

The apartment was relatively spacious. None of the appliances were turned on when we got there, so no cold fridge or freezer. Also no hot water as heater was turned off. Took 3 cold baths to work out I needed to hunt for the switch in a closet myself. No air conditioning which made the apartment unbearable.

Stayed twice in one trip

On my first stay, I arrived late in the evening and was welcomed so warmly by reception staff Catherine, as she walked me to my apartment, showed me around, and gave me suggestions for dinner and groceries. The next day, I discovered that the shower head leaked, and it was handled very well by the staff and building manager, including a gift to make up for the inconvenience - wholly unnecessary, but very much appreciated! The studio apartment was great, and the bed had just been upgraded (a double, not a single as described in the Expedia listing - I asked, and Catherine said they didn't have any singles). The location was perfect for me, for exploring the city on foot and by transit, including getting to a few work events. I liked it so much that when I returned to London a week or so later, I stayed again, and was again warmly welcomed, and my last-minute addition of a night was accommodated.

Comfortable stay

Great place to stay. We had a 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor facing the opposite direction of Lamb's Conduit. It was very spacious, perfect for the 2 of us. Kitchen is adequately equipped, living room has a TV, shower works well, good heating (we were kept warm in a cold December), bedroom is spacious with fresh air coming through the big window. Service was good, concierge was available, cleaning provided on a weekly basis. Location is perfect - away from the craziness of Soho, but just a few tube stops away from Russell Square metro (5 min walk). British Museum, and King's Cross station, 10 min walk. Everything you need is very close (supermarkets, coffee, restaurants, transit).

Outstanding location

Easy walking distance from St Pancras/Kings Cross. Lambs Conduit is lined with trendy shops and restaurants with a nice urban vibe. The apartment was satisfactory but in need of refreshing i.e. New flooring. However, spacious and well appointed, Staff very helpful and friendly.

Loistava sijainti

Saco Holborn konsepti on hyvä ja toimiva sekä sijainti aivan loistava. Varsinkin, jos pitää West end, Govent garden, Oxford Street ja Soho alueista. Bussipysäkille on lyhyt matka. Matka- aika esim. asunnolta Oxford Circus oli n. 20 min. Asunnon ympäristö on rauhallinen turvallinen ja viereisessä korttelissa on poliisiasema, joka loi alueella iltaisin yksin liikkuvalle lisää turvallisuuden tunnetta. Yhden makuuhuoneen huoneiston pohjaratkaisu on hyvä ja toimiva, kylpyhuone uusi ja lämmintä vettä tuli riittävästi mutta suihkussa käsisuihkun puute vähän harmitti. Pyyhkeet uudet, isot ja pehmeät. Sänky oli hyvä ja, peitto riittävän lämmin ja muutoinkin tyynyt ja petivaatteet olivat erinomaiset. Keittiö ja astiat olivat hyvät paitsi kahvinjuoja kaipaa varmasti kahvinkeitintä. Ja pakastin kaipaa sulatusta. Asunnon lämmitys reistaili mutta sain sinne irtopatterit, joten sekin oli sitten ok. Uskon että irtopatterit olivat paremmin säädettävissä kuin asunnon varsinainen lämmitys olisi ollut Ainoa iso negatiivinen asia oli huoneiston tunkkainen haju, joka muistutti lähinnä vanhaa täysinäistä tuhkakuppia. Asunto on savuton, joten haju johtuu todennäköisesti kokolattiamatoista, jotka ovat niin tyypillisiä briteissä. Henkilökunta pyrki parhaansa mukaan auttamaan tässä ja asuntoon tehtiin raikastus, joka auttoi muutaman päivän ajan Henkilökunta oli todella auttavaisia ja ystävällisiä ja tekivät 18 päivän oleskelustani vaivatonta ja mukavaa, joten iso kiitos heille.
