Needs a pool.

The room was very comfortable. There was really no view. There is no pool! It is about a 15 minute walk to a small, very crowded beach. The staff were helpful but overall it was expensive fr what you get.

The Lodges are roomy and modern and the deck is perfect for sitting on the swing and enjoying the weather. I only wish that there had been a screen door so that we could leave the room open to the breeze, but there are too many bugs to make it worth the risk. Other than the restaurants at the resort, there are few places to eat in this part of the island. There are some really well-stocked grocery stores nearby though so make sure you get a room with a kitchen. Very safe, and parking is easy. The beach is a 20 min walk or a 5 min drive, but there are other bigger beaches to drive to in the area.

The Sunday SELF-check-in was quite unique and efficient as they sent us emails prior to our arrival for a smooth entry through the BlueBay gated area! The room was extremely modern equipped with everything necessary for our meals… a fantastic local supermarket nearby, as well 3 restaurants on the property which were not cheap … a dinner for 2 including drinks at LemonGrass restaurant cost us 120.00 US dollars. The beautiful clean beach was walking distance by 12 minutes

Blue Bay Lodges stay

The property was exactly as described and looked exactly like the pictures. Front desk staff aren’t available 24/7 but are helpful. I was almost panicking when property management sent absolutely no replies to my emails in the weeks after booking/paying for my stay - call them if you need to discuss anything prior to arrival. Good experience overall.

This was a great spot for us to stay for a couple of days when we were waiting for a condo rental to be ready. The studio had all we needed and would also be good for a longer stay. The kitchenette was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, the balcony was a great place for breakfast or a glass of wine. Our stay included a beach pass to the Blue Bay private beach and the Garden pool was a one minute walk. Beach towels included. Great friendly staff and very helpful on local knowlege.

We loved that this property had a lovely lanai where we spent most of our time when not out. The kitchen was great to cook up easy meals. The fry pan and cutting board need to be replaced as they are quite over used and we had to buy a fry pan flipper as there wasn't one supplied. There are clean dish towels supplied every few days and our beds and room were cleaned often as well. They have black out drapes which are great for sleeping but the bottoms of them and the over curtains were quite dirty. There is a path to the beach which is a ten minute walk but we mostly drove and there is a fairly large parking lot so parking was never a problem. Since there is an $8US charge to go on the beach each day, it was great having a complimentary beach card for free access. The beach is lovely but fairly crowded but we always managed to get a lounge in a shady spot. Entrance security to Blue Bay needs to improve. It is great that their security is so tight, and we felt very safe staying there, but waiting to get through the gate every time gets a little tedious. We would suggest that guests staying there should receive a bar code card to enter on the same side as residents. It was great however knowing it was difficult for cars to enter without identification cards. This complex is very handy to everything but you do need a car if you wish to venture to the other amazing beaches and into Willemstad as well as to pick up groceries. The Centrum Grocery Store is close.

It is not what we expected and what you see on the pics. The room was dirty with bread crumbs around the cook top (or that were the signs of roaches?), bedding was stained and not fresh and even stinky, and shamefully dirty (and disgusting to touch) curtains. It was our 30th wedding anniversary, so a week prior to our arrival we sent them an email in order to ask for a better room or something like that, but it was completely ignored. Yes, i saw a roach in the bathroom; the manager said that they are everywhere... Check-out was even worse - before our departure they came to count glasses and forks and there is a huge price list in case if you break a glass you will have to pay. we felt like bad school kids in front of the teacher. I wish we stayed in some other place. Not recommended.

Clean & comfortable gated community

Clean & comfortable room with superb shower. 2 minute drive (or 10 minute walk) to the beach w/ free and abundant parking. The location of the four pools within the Blue Bay compound is not immediately obvious, but they're nice when you find them. It's a gated community with heavy security as you drive in, so it has a bit a surreal Truman Show feel with lots of happy white Dutch people driving around in golf carts.

Good apartment style lodge w kitchen, pool & beach

My wife and I had an enjoyable 1 week stay. While it wasn't as low cost as other Caribbean options, it was good value ... even with our beat up Canadian 'dollarettes'. The kitchen facilities were very functional and we saved some $$ by having a number of meals / snacks / drinks at the lodge. Nice uncrowded pool w short walk to a beach (w bars and restaurants) and nearby golf course. We were able to rent a vehicle from the hotel operator directly (for a reasonable rate) which was very helpful, as booking taxis in Curacao can be both problematic and expensive. I recommend this option with the disclaimer that navigating the island by car can be a bit tricky even with Google maps.
