We had a great time at the Makai club. The staff was friendly and helpful and the 1 bedroom cottage villa we stayed in was very spacious and and comfortable. The room was equipped with good kitchen tools and equipment.

Great Value and Friendly Staff on the North Shore

Great stay at Makai Club and would highly recommend it. Seamless check-in with friendly staff. Room was very clean and spacious for two. Great location - quick bike ride to the St Regis Princeville to watch sunset. Easy drive into Hanalei.

Very nice property, excellent staff, clean rooms. Would have appreciated a bath instead of a shower, and a later check-out than 10 a.m. This property is very hard to find from the highway as there are no street names, or other signs to indicate the turnoff. Look for the police station and turn there.

Excellent stay at Makai Resort

Had a great 4 night stay at the resort. Room was spacious, clean and well located. 2 bedroom condo we stayed in was huge. Each bedroom had a large bedroom, comfortable beds, change room and bathroom for privacy and use. The pool was close by with BBQs that could be used and a pop machine. Pool is smaller but we were more interested in the beaches than sledding time by the pool! The only draw back was that patio access to the deck was via one of the bedrooms, would be nicer to have that off the living room. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, dishes, cutlery etc. the fridge even has an aide making machine which was well used! Would stay again.

Excellent accommodations!

Top rate accommodations! Professional, excellent and friendly service from the hotel staff; especially from Hattie and Jackie. They made my stay that more enjoyable, thanks again for the belated birthday chocolates. I have such fond memories, will return back next year! Mahalo.

The structures themselves are 1970's construction. The interior of the condo I rented was updated. It's basic, not fancy but has everything one needs and the location is prime, there is abundant wildlife both and feline and chicken to endlessly entertain whilst sitting on the lanai. The kitchen was well stocked with gear, I did cook a couple of lunches and prepared all breakfasts here without any issue. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and quickly responsive. Great vibe. The prices are reasonable for Princeville. I did not sit at the pool but walked by several times; smaller than the photos indicate so not really for swimming to exercise, but a very pleasant place to hang out. I saw a few people there quietly enjoying the sun every time I passed. Not busy, just one or two folks. There were also multiple chaise lounges, two grills and a picnic table right next to my condo building overlooking a jungle forest with a view of the mountains in the background. The only complaint I would have is that there is not adequate sound insulation (in my opinion) in the ceiling and I could hear the footsteps of the guests above. That said there was no noise through the walls so not bad overall. Plus the north shore in general shuts down early at night with sound ordinances, so overall very quiet! I would absolutely book again. If you're looking for a fancy place that's IG bait this isn't it. But the entirety of Kauai is breathtakingly beautiful so this covers good basic accommodation.
