The staff were very nice and tried to fix some of the problems for us, so I don’t blame them necessarily but my god this place was awful. Huge noisy parties first night, which staff did eventually deal with but had to call a few times and cost me a few hours of sleep. Pullout couch was filthy and broken (had to be propped up to sleep in). No sheets for it. Stained sheets on the bed. No signs showing where gym is. View from room was rats eating garbage from the Mexican restaurant outside. Didn’t provide wifi password and had to ask for it. Dead bugs on floor. And that’s just some of the issues. Just a comically bad place. Will never stay in a Placemakr again.

Good location close to public transit.

The property is in a great location. We were able to take the metro all the way from Dulles to Eastern Market. From there it was less than a km walk. There are also multiple bus lines running along M and 8th street which are a block from the location. We did have some trouble getting in. The building was locked and the staff do not have a view of the door. The only way to contact them is via phone or text which meant activating my international roaming. (We were not sent access codes in advance.) An intercom at the front door might be warranted. Or alternate web based communication. Once we did get checked in we couldn't get into the room. The staff assisted quickly but after multiple attempts were unable to get the door open and immediately arranged for us to have a different room. That ended up being an upgrade to a one bedroom, which we appreciated. The space was compact but well laid out. A bit more storage in the bedroom would have been handy given we were staying a week. There was a closet and hangers but no shelves or dresser. The kitchen had everything we needed to do our own cooking. Dish and dishwasher soap was supplied. A dish towel and dish sponge would have made clean up easier. We also made good use of the washer and dryer. The place was very clean with the exception of some dirt in corners of the bathroom and the carpets which need cleaning. Note that Placemakr just took over this site from Sonder so some bumps were expected. We would stay here again.

Super bien situé. A 10 minutes de marche du métro, 5 d’une épicerie. Seul chose décevante, nous avions réservé avec un divan lit et nous avons eu un matelas gonflable. Il n’y a pas assez d’espace. Nous étions très serré.

The Sonder apartment had everything we needed for a two day visit to Washington, the neighborhood is trendy and very walkable and safe. Good variety of restaurants and shops to check out.

Very comfortable option for home-like stay. Apartment was stocked with everything necessary and everything worked pretty well. Team worked to meet most requests made but could tell still working out some of the kinks of being a new place. Parking free on street parking and was abundant. Park for dog located across the street, along with pet groomers and day care.

Couldn’t access the room to stay there

There was no stay. I arrived to the property- Reside Navy Yard 10 mins before my check in time. I used the code that was given to me and could not access the building to get to my room after trying the code about 10 times. The number listed for assistance didn’t work properly after calling and following the prompts about 4-5 times. I wasn’t able to get anyone on the phone. Now I have been told by Hotels.com that the Property Manager for Reside Navy Yard will not issue me a refund. I want my money that I spent to be refunded because I wasn’t able to stay at the property and had to make other arrangements. It is unacceptable to have some pay for a room they are not able to access at all

They don’t tell you they don’t accept cash They also don’t tell you that once booked and you arrive there is a large deposit that could days to get back!!!!! That’s a big thing you should tell people when they are traveling some where !

I want to start by saying that I didn't do my research. I didn't realize that Reside was not a typical hotel--but more of an apartment building, I guess? Even with that caveat, it was not a good experience. The staff did their best, but it's clear that this property is not set up for the casual traveler. Upon first arrival, I couldn't get in the front door. So I stood on the sidewalk calling the number and trying a code that was sent to me. Nothing worked. Eventually someone came out and let me in. I was told I couldn't check in early without an extra fee. I have never heard of this and this was not communicated to me. It was 12:30pm and the hotel was dead. So i decided to go do some meetings and come back. I came back at 5 and my code still didn't work. I was let in and the check in process was quick. However the code to my room didn't work. Then they tried a new code. Then they gave me a new room. 20 minutes later I was in my room. Asked if there was an ice machine. I was told there would be an ice tray in the freezer in my room. There wasn't. I told front desk that there is a low battery alarm on a smoke detector in the hallway. They said maintenance doesn't come in until tomorrow morning. So I got to listen to that for 12 hrs. The room itself was fine & clean. The property is across from a dog kennel so I hope you like the sound of barking dogs. At check out they said they would send the receipt to my email. They did not. It took two calls the next day to get one

Sidewalks were blocked by cars and Ice. The main faucet was stuck between two modes and made a very loud sound when in use. The soap dispenser was empty in the bathroom. Since the internet was down I could not change the check-out time, and the front desk could not assist me. Aside from those minor issues, it was a beautiful location and a mostly pleasant stay.
