Great location for walking down King Street, and when we were tired, there were free shuttles that brought us back within a couple of blocks. The hotel staff were very attentive. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. And the price was in a range that I felt we could afford, unlike most of the hotels in central Charleston.

Loved our stay!

We loved our time at the Iris. The unit was clean and well appointed. It was laid out to be very functional with space. We had great communication with the staff and the parking carousel was easy to use-very convenient. We’d definitely stay again.

The parking was little confusing, however the room itself was beautiful, clean. Amazing location. It had a couple of top notch coffee machines with espresso and creamers. Walked everywhere.

The Iris is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking to experience downtown Charleston. Just a block off of King Street, the property is within walking distance of the many shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues of Charleston's Historic District. The property and room themselves are clean, modern, and inviting. Absolutely loved our stay here and will come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Iris. We stayed in a superior suite which was bright and light and with all that we needed for four nights. It turned out we were in a great area with lots of delicious dining options and a short walk from King Street which is the Main Street in Charleston. We walked everywhere. We would totally recommend and would come back if we visit Charleston again.

Loved this little gem!! Upon entering, we met a wonderful young woman who works at the property and was happy to hear we were from the same neck of the woods. We were treated with a bottle of wine, chocolate and coffee so what could go wrong?! Our room was on the ground floor and it was cozy, and super clean! Loved all the amenities that were included. It was a quick walk to King Street and they had everything you could imagine as far as coffee shops, lovely stores, restaurants, and bars. Would definitely stay again if we are back to Charleston.

Great atmosphere friendly staff before check-in. However, the AC would not permit any temperatures below 76° that night. It was below 70 in Charleston making it much warmer in the room than outside. I literally could not stay the night and sleep.

Outstanding amenities, the apartment is thoughtfully designed, the staff even left a welcome gift 💝! Quite needed, after a long drive! Parking instructions are very clear and even though it was the first time using the carousel parking, it all seemed pretty intuitive. Check-in was seamless, and staff extremely patient in explaining all the functionalities available at THE IRIS

We loved The Iris. Great location. Wonderful space. The furnishings were new and high quality. It was well equipped, even with a Dyson hair dryer. The bottle of wine, chocolate bar, coffee pods and personal note were a great touch. We didn’t use the car carousel but it looked really cool. The outside spaces were great. We will stay here again.

The location was a ten minute walk to the top of King Street where you found lots of restaurants and bars. The neighborhood itself was quiet. The unit was clean, comfortable and modern with many amenities. Great location if you need to rent out a lot of units for a wedding or event. Communication leading up to visit was sparse, but day of check-in they were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Our modern home-base in Charleston

We loved The Iris for our week in Charleston. Great location just a short walk from King Street and situated in a cool neighborhood within walking distance to fun restaurants and bars. We walked all over town from here. Our unit was super clean and well-appointed for the two of us. The bed was comfy, the kitchen and bath very modern and the living space was cozy but big enough to watch TV, snack and relax. We loved the "patio" space just outside our door as we chatted with other guests coming and going. The staff was VERY accommodating, helping us with our EV charger parking space. If you have a car, I recommend paying the extra parking fee as the on-site carousel is easy to use and safe. We will certainly stay here again and recommend to friends.

Our vehicle was too big to use the carousel so we had to park about a half mile away, which was inconvenient with two young children. Next time we'll get a smaller car.

This is such a fantastic property! It's rare to read so many glowing reviews and not be a little skeptical, but The Iris is truly the real deal. The apartment is a great use of space with adorable furnishings and decor, lots of amenities (welcome wine and chocolate, sound machine, Nespresso and Keurig machine, extra pillows), and thorough communication. The welcome email/text was very detailed and included everything we needed for check in. The parking carousel was new to us, but the welcome info included detailed instructions and a YouTube link to make it easy to use. A welcome binder in the apartment was also very helpful, and we enjoyed restaurant suggestions! The neighborhood is super walkable and has lots of "off the beaten path" coffee shops, brunch, dining options, and beautiful architecture. It is walkable to King St for shopping but a pretty long walk to the Charleston waterfront and market. It was about $7-8 for Uber to those areas, though. Truly, this is such a great property and we had no complaints. Will stay here again if we get the chance!

We Will Be Back

The Iris was exactly what I needed, except maybe the car carousel. Technically, my vehicle fits on the SUV carousel, but not really. That was frustrating, especially since I slightly damaged my door. User error. The location of The Iris is perfect. Just off the highway and a few blocks from the famous King Street. This is downtown/old town Charleston, so you might feel a little uneasy if you aren't familiar with being downtown in a city. However, The Iris has its own tall gate system that secures the safety of its guests. I did not feel any discomfort once we got inside the gates, nor when walking from The Iris to The Visitor's Center during the day. But we did take several LIFTs around the city, because it was very hot. The gate is easy to use via code, and that same *or another* code gets you inside your room. We booked a ground floor unit that was perfectly sized and well equipped for two. The room has everything you need except food and your own clothes. But if you forget those, wear one of the provided robes and sip some complimentary wine or coffee until your food and clothes orders arrive. *I don't drink coffee and left the wine for the next guests, but they still were a very nice touch! If I come back to Charleston, I'll be back at The Iris. Thanks!
