The location was amazing but our room was horible. I'm not one to complain but this particular room at Castle Poipu Shores, shouldn't be rented again. It needs a renovation. Kitchen has delaminated cupboards, tub with shower doors mildew & mold, tub didn't drain properly, all window screens gapping, all drawers swollen & hard to move, patio doors, washer broken didnt spin our clothes. The list goes on. This room should be inspected by a health code inspector, it wouldn't pass. We paid a premium price to be on tbis property. We booked a deluxe 2 bedroom. We had to change our dates by 2 days because of an airplane flight reschedule. We got a room with less square footage than what we booked and we had to pay more because of the change in dates by 2 days. We should have been shown pictures that depicted the suite, not just the best the property had to offer. We researched the location and wanted very much to stay at Castle Poipu Shores. We were shocked when we checked in at 1130pm Friday. The office didn’t open until Monday so we had no one to complain to.

Location is absolutely amazing. The views are stunning. We saw turtles everyday. Dolphins 3 times. Whales everyday (last week of March) if the unit we rented was updated thus place would be perfect. But the beds sucked. The bathtub and cupboards are aweful. But again, absolutely magnificent party of Kauai.

It you want millions dollar views, they Poipu Shores is the place to be. The condos are well maintained and appointed, and the staff is very helpful. I highly recommend this location.

Good location & friendly staff. Nice view and breeze from the ocean but waves crashing against rocks can be loud during the night when sea is rough. Comfortable beds to sleep in; bathrooms on the small side. Rattan flooring throughout this suite uncomfortable on the feet. Wicker furniture cushions not pleasant to sit on and its frame is too bulky to manoeuver around in the small space. One toilet not flushing day 1 which was discovered after the office was closed (repaired quickly once informed the next day). Nice sized kitchen with almost everything you need. Have no problem with tidying up after ourselves and taking out our own garbage & recyclables. Surprised regarding lack of cleaning service provided (towels & amenities replaced once during 5 night stay) and wish the "after checkout cleaning fee" was built into the rental cost. Overall I would rate this condominium resort OK.

Great location. Needs a renovation.

This is an amazing location near poipu beach, 5 minute walk. Watch sea turtles from the amazing pool, every room has great oceanfront views. Nice quaint not so busy feel. The room however was in poor condition. There was mold on the curtains, the carpets stink, the master bathroom shower didn't work. It could have used a renovation 10 years ago. Make sure you ask for an updated room.

Beautiful condo on the ocean.

This is a beautiful place stay. All the rooms are overlooking the ocean and the pool. From our room we saw at least 10 turtles a day swimming in the bay below the pool as well as whales further out in the ocean. The condo is a 5 minute walk to Poipu beach park or Brenneke beach. We swam with the turtles at Brenneke Beach and saw an abundance of fish snorkelling at Poipu Beach. The condo was was stocked with everything you would need, including beach toys, boogie boards and umbrella. I highly recommend this hotel.

Awesome location and view! A gem of a find in paradise!

Awesome location for viewing ever crashing waves on a black rock shoreline. With an unending din and roar of the ocean in the backround, we swam in a well maintained cool water pool suspended 40 feet above the shoreline. All of the units are ocean frontage. We saw stars of constellations, planets and a full moon from our own lanai. We appreciated the use of ceiling fans and ocean breezes through louvered frosted window panes over the traditional air conditioning. It is an older resort with two out of three newer buildings. All well maintained. It was just a short walk to an ideal children's beach and then Poipu Beach Park. No dining room on the pemises, but the close proximity walking to Brennecke's Beach Broiler for a seafood lunch was a bonus. The hotel staff highly recommend online reservations for the best offers. Definiely a place we will return to for a longer stay. Mahalo!

Right on the ocean!

We had a main floor suite with a private patio. The patio extended out to the edge of the rock bluff and the ocean was right there below us!!! The waves came crashing in and would spray directly up and we could see sea turtles swimming just 20-20ft out. It was beautiful!!!

10 Year anniversary getaway

Our room was amazing! We had an ocean front room and got to sit on the balcony and watch the sea turtles that came in close to the shore/cliffs every day. It was so relaxing to fall asleep to the waves crashing on the rocks. The condo was fully equipped with everything we could ever dream of, just like our kitchen at home. Having two BBQs available was also a bonus.The beach was only a 3 minute walk up the road and we could see it from the balcony. Excellent sunset photographic opportunities. The pool was lovely (although we only used it once) and was right next to the ocean cliffs. It was a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to spend our second week of our 10 year wedding anniversary. We would go back in a second!!!

Gorgeous views

The unit we stayed in was not represented in the photos, it was a little old with no bedrooms with ocean views. The patio is as pictured, evening sun exposure. Turtles in the bay. Note there is no ac, but we were fine as we were out all day and here in December. Close to a lot of great things. Would stay again, but wosh they would have been more clear on what our actual unit looked like.

On the edge of the island and perched to see turtles daily. Also saw dolphins swimming! The space was nice and adequate for the 5 adults. Twin beds were hard and the parking was hit and miss on a steep driveway. Would definitely stay there again!

Fabulous Ocean View!

The suite we stayed at has fantastic ocean views. The rooms are quite large to accommodate five of us comfortably. The kitchen was fully equipped so it was quite convenient for meal preps. Only drawback was the master bedroom got really hot in the early afternoon. The fan in the room was not that strong to cool the room even it was at its max.

This was a terrific location with beautiful views of the ocean and a great experience of the waves crashing against the rocks. The only issues we experienced were fans, not working, making it quite hot to sleep, and the washing machine was moldy. That being said, we would stay here again.
