Great place to stay

We started our trip here after 28 hrs of traveling. It was a great place to get adjusted to the time change and catch up on sleep. The hosts were amazing. There are restaurants and shops close by. The beach is across the street. Great beds and pillows. You couldn’t ask for much more.

We loved Sandy and Glen at Whangaparaoa Lodge. They were incredibly helpful and kind. Our room was exactly as we had expected and we totally enjoyed our stay. The Lodge is small enough to feel cosy and it has great views as well as an excellent location. Having a good BBQ was a bonus for us. Thank you!

Comfortable motel close to two beaches and shops

Very pleasant, early check-in coming form overnight to Auckland flight. Nice deck with view of the water. Easy walk to a village centre with shops and restaurants. Mile drvie to a beautiful Big Manly beach. Very welcoming pleasant hosts. Would stay again

Very nice motel and staff. Excellent base for visits to Shakespear Park, beaches, and a day trip to Tiritiri Matangi Sanctuary.

Well maintained & managed motel overlooking water

We were warmly welcomed by staff, who brought us a cup of tea on arrival. Our room was fantastic--a corner unit on the second floor with windows on 3 sides, and our own large, private deck. The beach was just across the road. A great stay there--thank you!

From the start Troy was really helpful. Offered to help with bags and have is excellent advice on restaurants and drinks. The hotel itself was perfect with a great view of the water. We loved it here.

Great location and very clean an modern

Super friendly staff. Spacious modern rooms with cooking facilities. Within easy walking distance of shops, restraunts and bar. I wanted to take the ferry across to Auckland but ran out of time. Next time!

Great room but a little on the niosy side.

The room was great, the woman who greeted us was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a bit noisy due to proximity to a main road but it was also very close to beaches which was great. A great location to take a very nice boat ride into Auckland without all of the city hassle of driving.

Casual luxury close to the beach

We originally booked this hotel for one night as a starting point for our 3 night stay in the Northland. We were so pleased with the hotel we stayed for all of our visit. Troy, the owner, is probably the nicest and most genuine host we encountered in our whole 4 week trip to NZ. The hotel is clean, modern and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable with high quality linens. A great beach is right across the street. An easy 10 minute stroll takes you to at least 5 restaurants. The wifi was super. We were able to borrow beach towels and an umbrella! It is easy to do day trips to other places from here. It's about a 45 minute drive from Auckland airport.

Great facility

Super friendly service, very nice setup, rooms clean and spacious with good utensils, kitchen setup. We had a problem. With our room upon arrival but it was taken care of very professionally. If there is anything not to be positive about, the road location for the rooms on the front made the traffic a little noisy. Still, a recommended hotel from me
