A bit tired.

This motel is an excellent price. It is really more of a working mans place for On the road. Not luxurious or fancy and nothing really close by. It appeared clean enough but there was a very strong odour when we walked in the room. The room had a small kitchenette which might be handy but we did not use. The lady at reception was extremely nice. Not sure if she was the owner but I feel bad that I cannot give it a better review.

We stayed a few nights, it was okay, but there is definitely room for improvements. 1: found an old pizza box stashed under bed 2: the laundry room was abit dirty, the dryer especially was full of lint, paper and had a dirty band aid inside it did not look like it had been cleaned in a while. 3:alot of times there isn't anyone at front desk reception, buzzing the bell doesn't do anything, so you will need to call their busniess number to contact the owner otherwise you will be left waiting around like a fool. 4: they do daily cleaning, i believe they only cleaned our room once, to be fair, on one occasion, they came to clean and we were getting ready, i asked him to come back when we leave, several hours later we came back Late in the evening and nothing had been cleaned had ask for new towels 5:the shower was abit difficult to work with, the water would just seep under the glass door and onto the bathroom floor had to constantly mop it up after every shower. The price we paid i felt was abit steep, For all the above mentioned. Especially that this motel is abit of a mission into town, its very costly for a taxi and wait times are horried, they do not have uber, there a some buses but we didn't use any buses unfortunately. What we did like, Upon arrival, the young lady at reception greeted us very nicely and helped us with our luggage, she also allowed us to keep our luggage before check-in as our flight was pretty early in the morning. Which we appreciated.

Overall, a nice Hotel. The room i had was super spacious with full kitchen and a MASSIVE bathroom and GIANT bath.( so good) The room i had also had the best single seat lounger EVER!!!! So yea, nice hotel😁

Stayed overnight on 2 separate days for only the nights due to the time frame of my itinerary. The management staff were lovely, very helpful and accommodating due to my late checkin times. Only had the opportunity of visiting 2 attractions in Whangarei. Loved every minute. Would like to see more if I come to New Zealand for another holiday.
