Butterfly Cottage with Wrap Around Porch

Arrive at Butterfly Cottage and escape from your everyday life! Relax with family and friends at our nature-inspired oasis! Prices are subject to change daily.

-4 Bedrooms (one on the main floor) – 3 Queen beds and 2 twin beds
-2 Bathrooms – 2 tub shower combinations
-Hosts up to 8 guests (including infants and children)
-Dog friendly (One small adult dog - $100 pet fee. A portion of the pet fee goes to support our local pet rescue – Angel’s Rest.)
-Private parking for up to 2-3 vehicles, contactless check in
-Electric fireplace, central heating and air conditioning
-High speed WiFi and TV with access to streaming services

Butterfly Cottage was designed by a well-respected local architect (Victor Tarnoy) and offers a spacious and luxurious open floor plan, with cathedral ceilings, great room and a wrap-around deck for outdoor living - all within a short stroll of the lake, oldest golf course in North America and historic downtown shopping, dining, theatre and culture.

The main floor of Butterfly Cottage you will find the fully-equipped kitchen:

-Drip-coffee maker and kettle with enough coffee and tea to get you started
-Sugar packets, salt, and pepper
-Microwave, toaster, flat top stove, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher
-Dishes, pots and pans, silverware and glasses (including wine glasses)
-Non-stick spray, paper towels, dish soap, tea towels, dish cloths

Everything you need to set the table for a meal with family and friends. The dining area has an extra-large farmer table with seating up to 8 guests!

There is a bedroom on the main floor with a queen bed. Large living room with television, electric fireplace, and piano! Plenty of windows for you to relax and watch the butterflies and enjoy the natural sunlight! There is a bathroom with a tub and shower combination!

The main floor laundry is located next to the kitchen supplied with:

-Laundry soap, stain remover and dryer sheets.

Bedding, towels, hair dryer, facial and toilet tissue, shampoo, and hand soap are also provided.

Walking up to the 2nd level of Butterfly Cottage on wooden stairs are 3 additional bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the 3rd bedroom has a set of twin beds. The bathroom showcases a claw foot tub and shower combo.

Imagine yourself on a sunny day sitting in a rocking chair on the porch sipping Niagara-on-the-lake's award-winning wine, eating fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, and enjoying a gas BBQ/grill with family and friends. Butterfly Cottage offers accommodation that invites you to come back again and again! Many of our bookings are return guests!

The butterfly-friendly gardens provide a tranquil backdrop for family get-togethers and beyond the trickling sounds of the pond are blackberry bushes laden with fruit for our guests to enjoy in late summer!

Fabulous stay

Spent 3 nights at this property with my sisters. It was a well stocked, clean property with liads of room. The bedroo.s were soacious and very comfortable. Loved the upstairs bathroom.Would recommend this property.

Relaxing Retreat

We loved the coziness of the cottage! We loved the back porch and yard! It was a short walk to the lake front and a nice relaxing walk to town. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen had everything you would need!

Wonderful home and location

The place was clean, roomy, and homy. We travelled to Niagara Falls but wanted to stay from the loud noises and visitor attractions. It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. House was nicely arranged with all the amenities one would need. I highly recommend this place and would stay again.

Girls Get Together at the Butterfly Cottage

Five high school (I won't mention our graduation year!) friends met at the cottage. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed complete with a beautiful scenic area for morning walks and trips down town.

Lovely thanksgiving getaway!

Our annual joint-family thanksgiving getaway was made lovely for my wife’s family and mine. We felt as if we had ample space and comfort for 7 of us. Backyard was beautiful and location is perfect for walks or short drives to vineyards. Kitchen was fully stocked with all you need. Our only complaint was that not all windows in bedrooms have coverings so perhaps bring a mask if you’re sensitive to light. Highly recommend the stay!

Great girls trip house

We loved the "cottage", it was fully stocked with supplies which we really appreciated! Very clean with lots of seating areas inside and out. Good quality linens and towels. There were 7 of us and felt there was plenty of room for us all. The only thing I would point out is the shower upstairs is a claw foot tub with a shower curtain around it. Those of us using that bathroom found it a bit of a hazard when in the shower as the curtain was long and you were stepping on it while showering as you couldn't have it outside of the tub. It was about a 25 min walk to most restaurants which as fine as we needed the walk after dinner. Would definitely recommend staying here with a group of family or friends.

Butterfly Cottage was just perfect!

We (8 ladies) stayed at Butterfly Cottage from May 26-31, 2022 to visit Wineries and the Falls. The house was perfect for our needs. We had plenty of room to eat together inside and outside. The grounds were beautiful. We were able to walk to town to shop and have a bite to eat. We also walked to the park to watch the sunset on our last night there. I would recommend this place 100%. Thank you! P.S - On our first night there, the neighbor did ask us to be quiet after 7pm because she had her grandkids, that was an annoyance as we weren't very loud to begin with.

The whole family loved it!

Pros: - Close proximity to Queen Street with shops and restaurants - Quiet neighborhood - 10 min walk to the entrance of the walking trail along Lake Ontario - The cottage was clean, charming, and plenty of room for all 6 of us - 1st floor bathroom had excellent water pressure Cons: - The HVAC on the 2nd floor whistled when starting up. - 1st floor bathroom: no anti-slip mat in the tub/shower and no handle inside for the elderly. - 2nd floor bathroom: No anti-slip mat but there is a handle mounted to the wall to help get in and out, however it still felt a little risky. The tub is a freestanding cast iron with a retrofitted shower. We found adjusting the water temperature to be finicky.

Very nice and exactly like pictured and contained all you might need for a few days. Comfortable beds.Unfortunately the first impression was not great , front of house had not been cleaned for a while. There were many spiderwebs and dead insects around windows.
