You will love your stay at the Blue Gem! This bright and artsy home is in Chattanooga’s oldest and most historic suburb, St. Elmo. A quick drive up Lookout Mountain to Rock City and Ruby Falls and 2 miles to Downtown Chattanooga! We are located right on the Greenway where neighbors walk their dogs, bike, and say hello. There is a brand new playground within walking distance!
The home is full of original art, right down to the hand welded staircase. Perfect for porch sitting and family gatherings, our *gem* of a home will delight you!

The St Elmo Park is two blocks away and you can walk or ride a bike St Elmo's down town ( on the new pedestrian/ bike lane, right outside the homes doorstep). Where you have abundant local eateries or could catch a ride up Lookout Mt on The Incline Railway. Get Ice cream at MsTs or continue to down town Chattanooga on the River Front parkway.
( Down Town is 2-3 mile away or a 5 min. drive.)
The home is super close to all the do do Chattanooga activities. Ruby Falls, Rock City are a short drive up the Mt.
There are plenty of beautiful hiking trail heads within blocks of the home

We had a fantastic time! The art deco vibe throughout the home is gorgeous, and the outdoor fire area was a highlight, super convenient to have the propane tanks ready for us. The home very very clean and welcoming. Great location so close to Rock City & Ruby Falls. The kids also loved the cute loft with the unique spiral staircase, though the small attic doors up there were a bit "creepy" for them (one slept on the couch instead!). Adding locks to those doors would be a perfect fix. Otherwise, an amazing stay and we’d definitely return and recommend to anyone checking it out!

We really loved staying at the Blue Gem in St. Elmo. The common space was comfortable and worked well for our family and the kitchen was well equipped. The two downstairs bedrooms were very comfortable and reasonably sized but the loft is a really tight space for adults. If you’re traveling with kids the loft would be a great sleeping space. St. Elmo is very cozy and we loved the historic neighborhood as well as the close proximity to Lookout Mountain, restaurants and the Food City. And it’s a really easy trip to downtown as well. I’d definitely recommend the stay.

A perfect 2 week getaway. Very clean, had everything you would need for a 2 week stay. The porch swing was my favorite place for coffee every morning. Wonderful walking paths especially for our dog. The home is located close to EVERYTHING... hikes, tourist attractions, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and more. The neighborhood was so quaint, quiet and the people were very friendly. St. Elmo just has a very cool, laid back vibe.

We love VRBO and are excited about creating new spaces to show off our neighborhood. We enjoy working with local artists and creating spaces for them to flourish, this is our passion. We have two rambunctious and adventurous children that keep us on our toes and feeling young!

Enjoy the neighborhood park, the abundant hiking trails that lead to waterfalls and majestic Tennessee views. St Elmo is teaming with locally owned and operated businesses. Our own neighborhood pub, Moccasin Bend Brewing Company, where you can meet the locals or take home a growler (you can also bring your dogs). Visit Mojo Burrito, delicious food in a hip environment, 1885 Restaurant for a more upscale dining experience, don't miss out on their incredible fresh water trout blackened or grilled, or St. Elmo's own Purple Daisy and dine on a BBQ sandwich. St. Elmo Deli will provide you with the perfect lunch on the run. Don't forget Mr.T's Pizza and hand scooped ice cream that has been in the neighborhood for over 20 years!!!! The choices are endless!

See seven states from Rock City, visit the nation's largest and deepest underground waterfall at Ruby Falls, take a short ride on the Incline Railway to ascend and descend Lookout Mt, where you have access to amazing views from the top of Lookout Mountain from Point Park, or visit Sunset Rock. We are a mere 5 miles from downtown Chattanooga. Enjoy the river front at Ross's landing on the banks of the Tennessee River, visit the Tennessee Aquarium, and walk right down Broad St and enjoy a Moon Pie!
