CASA BIANCA
Private Pool - Outdoor Entertainment Areas - Breath Taking Views

If you are looking for a place to stay that is still unspoilt, away from the crowds and the real Tuscany; then Casa Bianca is the ideal place to suite your needs.
It is your dream holiday and our property is very different from those around us. We renovated and modernised this Villa to capture its original Tuscan features and charms and then added the modern convenience we wanted in a dream holiday.
The location was chosen to give you the best features of a private Villa and the old-world charms of a Tuscan Village. Casa Bianca is perched on the edge of the Village of Crasciana affording breathtaking views down the valley and offering the uniqueness of private grounds and walking access to the Village who's first documented evidence dates back to 951.
From Casa Bianca you have the perfect base from which to explore the joys of Tuscany.
The beauty of its location provides the opportunity for total tourism; with the Tuscan Rivera an hour by car & the ski slopes of Abetone are 35 minutes away. Ideal for walkers and those looking for mountain adventure, you can walk from 100 metres above sea level to nearly 1,300 metres above sea. Mountain biking, road cycling and moto cross, are all popular sports in the area as well. La Lima river also provides a great back drop for white water rafting and fishing.
For those needing to stay connected, Casa Binaca has excellent, FREE Wi-Fi, Netflix for a movie in, a large pool with breathtaking view down the valley. For total comfort & relaxation enjoy the multiple entertaining areas, covered BBQ area, outdoor dining area, pool side or balcony. There are two 2 large bedrooms with kings beds or 2 x king singles and a studio with a large double, with two bathrooms.
Our location has the best of both worlds. Being in a small, quite hamlet and at the same time, reachable from Pisa Airport or Florence Airport in 90 minutes. With the regional capital of Lucca, around 45 minutes away.
There is so much to do in the area and one visit is never enough!

Nice views, very disappointed with accuracy of listing though

Views from the terrace sold the property initially to us and which didn't disappoint. Ultimately, overriding feeling was the property fell some way short of what the pictures had built our hopes up for - interior was tired and grounds were neglected. Having complained a gardener arrived a few days later to remove the random dumped tyre and bath from the garden! Garden had been neglected for months. Also, we were left feeling angry and mislead at the shared courtyard with the next door neighbour where they would play late night football and visits from the neighbour on the downstairs patio which as they informed us they had access to the adjacent garage. On the whole Tuscany and the local villages were wonderful but let down by the above and lack of empathy from the owner.

As an owner one never wants to hear that a guest did not believe the property lived up to there expectations. That said, the photos of the property are accurate, and as stated in the description, the property is located in a village. And along with spectacular views, you are able to interact with locals. People do live and work in the town, they have children that laugh and play in the area. If you are looking to experience Tuscany and Italian life then this is the perfect location from which you can experience and explore. If you are looking for total isolation, and to spend your Italian experience with only a view and don’t wish to experience the true Italy, then it is not the base for your Tuscan experience. One of the most unique features of Casa Bianca, is that it sits in a village and has 1,000 square metres of land from which to experience and enjoy Tuscany. The sun shines, grass grows, flowers blossom as it does all over the world. When it rains things grows faster. The lawns and grounds are maintained and we aim to ensure that the grounds are maintained between guest arrivals, for longer stays and when the grass grows faster we on occasion have to send in the gardener during a guests stay, as was the case on this occasion. Our guests are met on arrival at the property, shown the property and given a local contact should they need anything or have any questions. We also check on them after a few days to ensure that all is as expected. It is however very hard to feel empathy when a guest raises matters post stay, that we’re not raised during the stay.

Ruhe und Erholung

Tolle Lage, viel Platz im Haus und auf Terrasse und Balkon. Einziges Manko: Ein oder zwei Sonnenschirme wären sinnvoll.

Hi Christian, Thanks you for the review. It is a fantastic location, and we are so glad you enjoyed the property. There are two 8 foot umbrellas and a 6 foot in the Villa, perfect for use on the large balcony or by the pool. Hope to see you back again. Grant

Relaxing stay, wonderful views

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautifully presented, clean with modern finishes but maintaining the property’s original charm. Fantastic uninterrupted views from the balcony where we spent most of our time! Our 21 month old daughter loved the pool and big thanks to Grant for sourcing a high chair and cot at short notice, which we really appreciated.

Hilltop village experience

Along with two friends my husband and I visited Crasciana from 23rd June to 2nd July 2018. The house is what you would expect to find in a typical hilltop village it has been refitted with a modern bathroom, kitchen and big TV (great for World Cup football) but, still retains lots of original character. From the outside terraces the views are spectacular and you are not overlooked by any of the nearby properties so it is very private, we ate all of our meals on the outdoor table and soaked up the wonderful surroundings. The kitchen has modern appliances, cooker, gas hob, dishwasher and a terrific coffee machine also, a washing machine. Initially, the road up to the village was slightly daunting (especially with a large SUV rental car) but after a few times up and down you got more of a feel of the twists and turns. When you see Italian villages perched on the top of a hill and wonder how they are accessed - now we know. In the lower village of Barcrasciana there is a small bar, very local, friendly and inexpensive, above the bar is a shop which is useful and well stocked also, nearer to the bottom of the road is a restaurant, Aurora, we enjoyed a lovely lunch there. If you want to experience a typical Italian house in an interesting unspoiled village with views that you never get tired of, this is the property for you. I nearly forgot to mention the pool, which is great for cooling off and admiring the natural surroundings.

Amazing

Breathtaking views from dusk til dawn made for an amazing location for our holiday. We could have easily not left the house for our entire stay! Thank you for providing such a beautiful house for our Italian stay, it ticked all the boxes!

About the host

Born in Melbourne, Australia I fell in love with Tuscany while traveling on holiday in 2013. After a few trips and viewing a lot of properties, and despite the miss givings of many, I made the decision to purchase.
I currently work as a consultant and spend my time overseas with work or in Australia or Italy.

Why they chose this property

The views and the access. Many of the properties I looked at, and have stayed at, required you to walk to areas were you could not take a car and had to drag your luggage. To me this wasn't that appealing. So I made sure that there was parking close by and you only had to walk a short distance to the door, without sacrificing the Tuscan experience.

What makes this property unique

Unlike many places in Tuscany, you often need to be out of a village to experience the views, have a pool and garden. Casa Bianca has the views, pool, gardens and ease of access while being in a Village and it's on a little over 1000 square metres of land.
