Heaven on Earth, Tranquil, Private 4 Bedroom Waterfront on Goose Pond.
Imagine yourself driving down a quite road in the country. Tall white birches and white pines providing cool shade while the warm sun glows above. Imagine pulling up to a quaint home that sits quietly upon Goose Pond Lake. The smell of a warm fireplace waffles in the air. That's what you will find as you pull into the driveway of this cozy but large waterfront home. With Goose Pond lake just a few steps from the back door no matter the season you will truly be captivated by its beauty. Note: Goose Pond is a man-made lake. At the southern end of the lake, 3 miles from my home, is a dam that was constructed in 1918. It needs to be rebuilt and the State of New Hampshire has lowered the lake by more than 22 feet. Will be that way throughout 2024. Only a small stream 100 yards from the house will be available for summer 2024. The repair of the dam is on schedule (unusual,,,,, but true) and beginning in December of 2025, the lake will be returned to its normal water level. This pristine 3.5 mile lake should be back to normal for summer 2025! The home, and the area, has much to offer and is a great vacation venue........as previous guests comments indicate.

We've enjoyed having Amy and her family as guests in our home.
Having privacy and quiet on a 3.5 mile lake that is clean and not commercially orientated
is one of the main features of renting our abode. Pleased they had the opportunity to do just that.
Wonderful, out of the way location for our family to gather during graduation weekend!

Though our lakefront home is 12 miles from Dartmouth College, we’ve had the pleasure of renting it for Dartmouth graduations for many years. Thus, we’ve enjoyed having guests for graduation again this year.
Our guests this year were most cooperative and we wish the well with their future endeavors.
Enjoyed our visit for a long weekend. House was welcoming for our family, cozy and comfortable. Enjoyed using the kayaks on the lake and some local hiking.
It was a great location for post-Labor Day relaxation and well located for hiking, biking and kayaking. Bob gave us great tips on where to go.
The view from the deck and dock is perfect!

Appreciate having guests who take advantage of the surrounding country side and what it has to offer, ...........hiking, kayaking and mountain climbing!
Everything at this property was great. The host was very helpful from checking in to checking out. We had 6 people and we had everything we needed from start to finish.
Hopefully, this property will be available for our next family reunion in Canaan!!

Pure pleasure in having this family from Mississippi as guests at my lakefront home! They’re welcome any time!
This house is right on Goose Pond, a great location with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The owner went out of his way to ensure we settled in well and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. I hope we can stay again soon!

Knowing that a guest enjoyed the their stay at our little corner of New Hampshire paradise is terrific and provides a lot of inner warmth.
In addition, how fortunate we are to have guests that are "top shelf!" That makes it a win-win situation for both parties. It doesn't get any better than that!
Cool older home with fun collections, a blast from the past! Unfortunately the lake was drained but I can imagine how beautiful it would be. Several nice hikes in the area were a bonus for us. Plenty of room to spread out and a well appointed kitchen for home cooked meals. We enjoyed our stay very much.

What a joy it is to read that our guests enjoyed their stay in our respite from reality!
Our Ohio guests were terrific and they’re welcome back any time!
Spacious cabin with a great view of the lake from the living room and the large back deck, privacy from neighbors, dock to swim off of and not a lot of boat traffic. Very peaceful and relaxing.

When a guest indicates that they enjoyed their time at our lakefront home, it is most heartwarming.
Matter of fact, Scott and his family were great guests and it doesn't get any better than that for both parties concerned.
Second visit to this property was just as welcoming as the first. Thank you, Bob!

I enjoy my lakeside New Hampshire abode and get inner warmth when I have the opportunity to share it with others. To have a family return for a second time, as this family from Brookline, MA has done, is special and I am twice warmed with their visit..........just like I am when I split my own firewood!
A fun classic cabin with an awesome lakefront location. Host was super, even penning a hand written letter with great info. Cabin is full of interesting artifacts. And held us 5 comfortably.. Just an FYI the kitchen is pretty classic but functional

What a pleasure it is to host a family who enjoyed the ambiance of the house and Goose Pond!
This place is AMAZING!! I like to call it rustic chic! We have never stayed at a VRBO we liked this much. The owner is a wonderful man, who is always willing to assist you. Not only did we love it but our furry family members loved it as well. If you get to stay here, it's a real treat!!! Hope to be able to go back someday.
This is the 2nd time we have been to this awesome lake front location. We came to explore the beautiful area and fish on the lake. It truly is a pristine Lake and the house is very comfortable and totally equipped. Bob , the owner was very attentive to our needs. I would highly recommend this property. Brian and friends

Brian and his friends are always welcome to visit my abode on Goose Pond!
What a pleasure it is to have guests who appreciate, not only my home, but the surrounding area. And, to read that they experienced a "win-win situation" provides me
with a great deal of inner warmth. Doesn't get any better than that!
We had the most wonderful stay at Bob’s place. It was the perfect place for a snowy NH Christmas getaway. Suitably remote and picturesque yet close to many beautiful, charming towns for an excellent blend of relaxation and activity. The house was very well equipped and spacious. Bob was an excellent host providing us with great dining recommendations (listen to him and go to Ariana’s!) and general info on the area. We loved every minute and are already planning our next stay.

I'm extremely fortunate to have guests like Susan who have chosen to stay at my place because it meets their desires, interests and needs. By doing so, it leads to a pleasant and enjoyable experience for all concerned.
Plenty of living space and bedding for our large family. Not good for toddlers, too many things at their level to get into, plus no railing on the decks. Great dock, although tippy, and variety of kayaks and boats to use. Best was watching the Loons and their young.

Good guests and I enjoyed having them stay at the house.
The comment made in the guest review with respect to the house not being "toddler friendly" has some merit. I say this because there are a number of items on shelves in several rooms that are just a foot or so off floor level and could be an attraction for a toddler.
Like with most guests at the house, it's a pleasure to read that they enjoyed their stay.
We had another amazing week at Goose Pond. We feel like we are at home when there. The pups get out of the car and head right into the water like they own the place. =0) We look forward to the years to come at Goose Pond.

We rented this house last minute and everything was ready for us. The owner was in contact with us and answered all of our questions. He was very clear about what to expect and how to get in. It has the coolest old fashioned decorations and is very cozy. Definitely recommend 👌

This is our 2nd year on Goose Pond and have already booked for next year. We love relaxing on the large deck looking over the water, fishing off the dock, using the kayaks. and of course swimming . There's plenty of hiking nearby and lots to do. Bob is an amazing host, extremely easy to communicate with. The house has plenty of room and has everything you could possibly need . We only wish we could stay all summer!

How fortunate I am to be able to host families like Cindy's that find staying at my abode on Goose Pond an enjoyable and pleasurable experience. Tells me they chose wisely and found a place that meets their needs and desires.
Look forward to having them return next summer!
Great weekend spent with family. House was large enough for our family of 5 and 2 dogs with room to spare. Fishing was good for August. Enjoyed my morning paddle in the kayak and kids used other boats for fishing and exploring the lake. Dogs loved jumping off the dock and the shallow water area.

The saying goes like this:
Happy wife, happy life!
We’d like to add our similar saying. Goes like this:
Happy guest, tells we’ve done our best!
We loved Goose Pond. The cabin and area exceeded our expectations.
It was peaceful, quaint and comfortable. We were in the area for a Dartmouth graduation. The drive is about 25 minutes. And it was really fine, not super convenient, but a beautiful easy drive. I am glad we chose to stay at Goose Pond rather than a condo closer to town.
We relaxed, we fished, cooked out and really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you!

It's always gratifying to read that guests enjoyed the ambiance of the house and Goose Pond. A tip of the hat to Robyn for her comprehensive assessment of her visit to the Upper Valley.
This was our 3rd summer staying at Bob's cottage, we look forward to it every year. We love just spending time on the deck and on the water using the canoe, kayaks, fishing and watching the wildlife. There was a bald eagle this year! The house has everything you could possibly need and Bob is just a text away if you have any questions. If you need to leave the lake there is plenty of hiking, shopping and restaurants nearby. My dog thinks it's heaven on earth and I agree!

Our lakefront home in New Hampshire is, at least to our family, a very special place to be and enjoy the many bounties of life. To have guests like Cindy and her family, who also enjoy the ambiance of the area, is a great source of inner warmth and pride.
Having a win win situation for both parties involved is terrific! It doesn't get any better than that.
The Lake House was very quaint, fully stocked, rustic, clean and private! It’s just what we were looking for. Our host Robert was always available and gave us some great recommendations for , restaurants and hiking in the area. The lake itself is probably the most beautiful pristine lake I have ever been too! Loons were always on the lake and we did a lot of fishing. We caught and released Some huge Bass and Pickerel. We Would love to book it again! Brian C

A major goal of mine is to have guests enjoy their stay at my vacation home on Goose Pond. That said, how sweet it is to read Brian’s reflections about his stay. His choice to stay at my place was, for he and his guests,!an obvious
“Home run.” Upon reading his review, I now share that feeling too.
And yes, I do hope he’s a return guest…….and catches some of the same huge bass and pickerel that he did during his initial visit to my little corner of paradise.
The setting of this property is so beautiful! There is a huge picture window overlooking the pond and just through that is a large deck to really enjoy the outdoors.
The house was very comfortable for our whole family of five. The nostalgic decor made us smile and there was something interesting to see in every room, but the appliances look brand new and worked perfectly and there was plenty of hot water for the showers.
Our host Bob was warmly communicative about giving us lots of information about the area and was just a text away. You can tell he really cares for this place. Also, his neighbors say he's a great guy.

What a joy to read the comments by Robin. I feel that my responsibility as a host is to do whatever I can to assist my guests in enjoying the ambiance of the house and the area.
As such, delighted to read that Robin and her family felt at home and enjoyed their stay o Goose Pond.
How sweet it is when both renter and rentee believe it was a win win situation.
Robin and her family are welcome to return to my little corner of paradise!
The location couldn't be nicer for a get-away vacation. Quiet, peaceful and lovely view of Goose Pond. We spent our time kayaking, swimming, sitting on the back porch, listening to the loons, and playing board games in the evenings. The host (Bob) is a gem. He sent us a hand-written note welcoming us and giving ideas of things to do. Throughout the visit he was helpful, responsive, and welcoming. The cabin is cute, rustic and what one would expect for an all-season camp on a lake - older appliances, no A/C, etc. - but, we expected this and found it cozy and to have plenty of room. We would definitely return in the future!

I treasure my little nook of paradise on Goose Pond and consider myself an extremely fortunate to have guests who feel the same way.
I’m also fortunate that my guest are “top shelf” and working with them to enhance their Goose Pond visit has been a pleasure!
We spent four terrific days at this lovely waterfront home on Goose Pond (Lake!). It was graduation weekend at Dartmouth College for our son, and this place provided a great retreat from the pageantry and hubbub of Hanover, just a half hour drive away. It is in-character rustic and has all one could need for family meals, relaxing, and recreating. Kitchen had all we needed for group meals, beds were comfortable, and laundry facilities off the kitchen made it easy! Bob our host is attentive and responsive. We would love to visit again during fall or winter!

About the host

Potential renters for 2024. Goose Pond is a man-made lake over 3 miles in length. It has a dam at the southern end of the lake that was built in 1918. It needs to be rebuilt and, in order to do that, the State of New Hampshire has lowered the lake more than 22 feet. For the next year, there will only be a small stream 100 yards from the house. Thus, waterfront activities for the next year will not be available. Sorry 'bout that. That said, the home is available for rental this year and guests can use nearby lakes for waterfront activities. Biking and hiking are still close at hand. Bob
