The host is great with communication and delivered clear arrival and departure instructions. You absolutely will not regret staying here.
Thank you for recognizing our efforts on being truthful about the cabin and amenities. We never felt the need to over sell this property. We hear quite often the photos do not give it justice. Thank you again for being a great guest, we hope to have you back many times.
Beautiful home. Great spot on the river. Very peaceful and quiet. Home is well appointed and clean. Everything was clearly marked and laid out.

Thank you for your lovely review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the peaceful riverfront and found the cabin comfortable and easy to navigate. There’s nothing like relaxing to the sound of the river and taking in the views—glad you got to experience it! We’d love to welcome you back anytime for another cozy getaway.
This is a beautiful property with an amazing view. The host was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were there during heavy snow, and the property looked like a winter wonderland in every good way. The large windows in the main room gave us incredible views of the river, mountains, and snowfall. A unique aspect is an incredible musem-esque display of historical, setting appropriate items. We hope to stay at this property again.

My family had the most amazing time at this cabin. Plenty of places to explore nearby and just as nice to just relax by the river too. John was very communicative and the cabin had everything we needed. We would love to come back and do it all over again soon.
Ken and his family were wonderful guests and we welcome them back anytime. Communication with them was good and we appreciate their taking good care of our cabin.
Overall our stay was wonderful! The details inside were so charming and was well stocked. Yard and proximity to water was a dream. Only downside was mattress quality- bed upstairs was sagging a lot and downstairs also lumpy.
Thank you again for choosing our cabin, it's a pleasure knowing you enjoyed your stay so much. We look forward to having you become one of our regular guests!

This is a great home, everything you need to be comfortable and get away from the city. The views of the mountains and river are wonderful! Plus the beds are really comfortable!
enjoyed our stay and will be coming back!
My second stay at Sky River, needless to say we really love it! A wonderful log cabin right in the Skykomish, very private and cozy. Rustic in the good way, with most amenities but you will prefer to read a book, sit by the fire pit or float in the river. See you next year!
I was in complete amazement at how beautiful this home was. The views, the river, the beautiful log cabin it was everything and more we could have asked for. Our family was so happy with this place and will definitely be booking again in the future!

About the host

We’re an outdoor-loving family who truly believes the best memories are made while spending time together in nature. Whether it’s fishing in the river, hiking local trails, antiquing in nearby towns, swimming, rafting, or simply slowing down and exploring, these are the experiences we treasure—and the ones we hope you’ll enjoy here too.
Sharing our log cabin with guests is something we genuinely care about. We want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive. We’re always happy to help with questions, local tips, or recommendations, and we truly value your feedback.
Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and full of special moments your family will remember long after you’ve returned home.
Why they chose this property
Finding this cabin was no accident—it was the result of countless day trips through King and Snohomish Counties, following rivers, mountain roads, and quiet backways in search of something truly special. We knew exactly what we were looking for, and we were willing to wait for it.
Our wish list was simple but non-negotiable: the cabin had to sit directly on a river with great fishing, offer unobstructed views of the mountains and water, feel secluded and private with no neighboring cabins in sight, and still be close to Seattle and near a ski resort for year-round adventure. We wanted a place where the sights and sounds of nature—not traffic or neighbors—set the tone.
When we first arrived here, it was immediately clear we’d found it. This unique Norwegian-cut log home sits on nearly an acre of natural beauty, bordered by thick forest that enhances its sense of privacy. The Cascade peaks rise dramatically in the distance, and the South Fork of the Skykomish River flows just steps away, creating a setting that feels both powerful and peaceful. Bald eagles soar overhead, the river provides a constant, calming soundtrack, and the surroundings feel wonderfully untouched.
Despite the feeling of true mountain seclusion, the location is ideal—we’re about 60 minutes from Seattle and just under that from Leavenworth, making it easy to escape the rush of daily life without giving up convenience.
This is what we love most about the neighborhood: the rare balance of privacy, natural beauty, and access to everything the Cascades have to offer. What more could we ask for? 🙂
What makes this property unique
We had a long and very specific checklist when searching for a Washington cabin, and Skykomish River Lodge exceeded every expectation. Set directly on the South Fork of the Skykomish River, the property offers truly rare, prime river frontage with excellent fishing just steps from the cabin.
This is no ordinary mountain retreat—it’s a custom, handcrafted luxury log home, built using cedar logs harvested right from the property itself, giving the lodge an authenticity and connection to the land that’s hard to find. Inside, a breathtaking two-story river-rock fireplace anchors the great room, though it often competes for attention with the panoramic views of the river and towering Cascade peaks visible from nearly every window.
The cabin sits far off a private road at the end of a long, wooded driveway, creating an immediate sense of calm the moment you arrive. With no neighboring cabins in sight, the views remain wide open and the mountain atmosphere stays peaceful and uninterrupted—exactly what we were searching for.
Finding a place this special—a true luxury log home on prime river frontage with unobstructed mountain views and complete privacy—felt like discovering a hidden gem. We’re delighted to share it with guests who appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, and magic of this remarkable setting.
