Our family of 7 highly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. The property was clean and met all of our needs. We loved all the space to spread out. The property manager was helpful and quickly responded to queries. We plan to stay again in the future.
This property was very clean and well maintained. Large yard for bocce ball or croquet. We never felt crowded in this large home. We would definitely rent from them again!!
This is a LOVELY home, with a wonderful old-farmhouse charm. It has 4 good size bedrooms and two very large bathrooms. The overall layout is wonderful, easy to navigate and functional. The kitchen is large and well stocked, and the laundry room is huge with good machines. The driveway is quite tricky to find at first, but once you do, it's very easy to access, and provides easy access to downtown Hood River. I would definitely stay here again!
Came from the east coast for our daughter’s wedding with husband, brother and son. House was immaculate, with a fully stocked kitchen, ac units in bedrooms (was 90 for a few of our days there), and plenty of space. Loved the rocking chairs on the porch and Adirondack’s on the back patio! Big lawn and trees made this quiet spot memorable. The view of Mt. Adams and the orchards were nice, too. Room with the tv had more”sitting room” style of furniture. Main living room with fireplace we didn’t use much, but chairs and sofa were comfy. Driveway was inundated with acorns, which made it a little challenging to walk on, and to park car where it wouldn’t get bombarded. Overall, we recommend highly and would love to stay there again!
Kathryn’s charming home is very spacious for a group of up to 8 people. The dining areas are excellent for family meals, & the kitchen equipment is fully stocked. Both outdoor seating areas are idyllic, especially the covered front porch with rocking chairs. Great views of Mt. Adams & watching pear harvest taking place next door. The host keeps the grounds beautifully maintained, the towels & bedding are quite luxurious, & there is plenty of space with mudroom / sunroom / 2 sitting rooms / 2 large bathrooms & 4 large bedrooms. We were never crowded – multiple people needed to do some remote working here or there throughout our stay, & we could each find our own corners to take calls & get things done in the mornings. It left the rest of our day open to explore the best of PNW’s outdoors – whether driving a short distance to take in a beautiful hike up at elevation on Mt. Hood or hiking toward a stunning waterfall, doing wind sports downtown in the gorge, fishing on the Deschutes, or taking the local railbike excursion to fruit orchards & vineyards. Quick drive to town & restaurants. Quiet, safe, residential area set in nature. Very clean, well-appointed, & comfortable home. Kathryn is such an gracious & responsive host. She was very helpful & kind with any of our questions while we were preparing in advance for a longer stay. We really appreciated her hospitality, & we would love to return with a group of this size again. Look no further, this is your private & peaceful spot.
This property is beautifully suited for a wedding or anniversary stay. Everything in the kitchen is of the highest quality and there was more than enough of everything including high quality bath towels. We were disappointed in the very limited ACfor our July stay and think the home is better suited for 6 than 8 as far as gathering space but we had a wonderful stay and the host was very responsive and accommodating.
One of my sons and his family live in Hood River. The rest of the family decided to meet up there for Thanksgiving . I was very hesitant, as I could not imagine cooking a big beautiful Thanksgiving feast and hanging with family in a rental property. But this property fit the bill. Pros: fantastically equipped kitchen for a rental. Good quality mixers, blenders , toasters etc. plentiful amount of flatware, plates, glasses. Weather kept us inside a lot but it was an ideal space for us. There was lots of space for a “playroom” for the kids , a temporary office (to do a little remote work undisturbed) , and 4 large and comfortable Bedrooms. One of the reasons we chose this rental over others were the king beds . It is uncommon to find rentals with 1 king bed , neverthe less 2! There were two kings and two queens. All the beds, bedding and towels were new, very comfortable , and of good quality. There was a big nice yard that was perfect to go out and run with the grandkids . It really worked out as a wonderful space for us . Cons: there was only one con that stops me from a 100% 5 star review. That was a safety issue. In the upstairs hallway there is a place where the floor jogs up 3”. It is treacherous , particularly getting up at night to use the bathroom in a strange space and then suddenly the floor level changes, and it is right near the opening to the stairs! .One member did a full onto-the-knees fall in the middle of the night. After that we went and got some yellow electrical tape and marked the edge and put a huge X on the floor right where it dropped. We also left the light on at night . No no more falls after that . But beware. This could have been a bad accident .
Other then that I give a 5 star review.I cannot say enough good things about the responsiveness and welcoming gestures of the owner. Communication was easy and we would definitely stay here again if the size of our group required this much space . Note this property is not walking distance to downtown Hood River. That is one of the reasons we liked it, it is out of the congestion. But there are grocery stores, restaurants , coffee shops all very close, within a 5 minute drive . Also a nice outside grill, eating patio. Nice place .
Old farm house so has all the odd things you in counter in older homes. If you are looking modern and/or out of town this is not the place. A fire pit would have been extra nice.
This is a lovely old home , very clean, with renovated kitchen and baths and comfortable beds. The portable ACs make some noise but it was nice to have them during a heat wave. Very nice back yard and porch areas. Location is great.
Everything was perfect minus slower communication from host than desired and there was also a roach in the upstairs bathroom. It was a great house though and the property is breathtaking!
We had a great time! The house was perfect for what we needed. It was clean..well equipped and very comfortable! The host was amazing and so sweet and accommodating and made our stay just perfect! I would definitely come here again!
Wonderful Beautiful property. Loved the large lawn and orchards surrounding the property.
We had a wonderful time in Hood River, lots to do and see with Beautiful scenery. House had adequate size bedrooms and great corporate living areas I.e. living room, kitchen, and dining room. Great outdoor space for grandkids to play. The only drawback was no central air. Downstairs was pretty comfortable, but upstairs bedrooms got pretty warm. Portable air conditioners were nice but we were afraid to run them all due to warning about possible electrical issues. All in all a wonderful property.
We so enjoyed our stay at this charming home in a great location in Hood River! The home has been updated with gorgeous bathrooms and a spacious kitchen that is stocked well. We have two young children who enjoyed playing in the yard and walking through the orchard. Communication with the owner was over the top wonderful. She was accommodating and provided everything we needed for a great stay. I would highly recommend!
