The cottage was a perfect place for our group of four long time friends to have a relaxing place to stay. The cottage and grounds were so beautiful. Much love and work has gone into making this place so pleasant. Richard and Rosemary were amazing hosts. From being there to greet us (with fresh baked bread), answering any questions and providing recommendations for our visit, they truly did everything to make our visit wonderful and memorable.
Everything about our experience at Ashside Cottage could not have been better! Quiet location, yet convenient for all our travels. Great hosts who made themselves available if needed. Would recommend to anyone!
This property is a gem for anyone looking for a nice quiet place to stay, but is also an easy place to get around to all of the things you want to do in Northern Ireland.
Rosemary and Richard were a true pleasure to deal with, and their home is so charming and cozy, we definitely did not want to leave.
Four ladies stayed here and still cannot get over the idea that we were blessed with such beautiful accommodations. This is not your typical vacation rental; it’s a home the owner obviously enjoys sharing. Immediately upon entering we were wishing our plans would have let us another day or two just to enjoy their home and gardens
My Daughter and I both agreed. We have never stayed anywhere, where so much was provided, or catered for.The gardens are beautiful, with such an array of plants trees and shrubs, which are so extensive ! We had, at times call out to, or search to find where in the garden one another might be. With not one but TWO outdoor, seating areas. One for outdoor dining, and another further up into the garden, a secluded section, both with ample chairs for relaxing in. Plus we had the extraordinary weather we were blessed with. A country oasis indeed.Thank you both for everything.
We had a fabulous stay at Ashside Cottage. We were welcomed by Richard and Caroline who gave us a tour of the house and filled us in on places of interest in and around the area. The cottage was beautiful with parts dating from 16th century. It had everything we needed, including home baked bread. It was very cosy and comfortable and we enjoyed returning home each evening to relax and discuss the days adventures.
The garden was amazing, it was lovely to walk up to the top and be greeted by horses in the field.
The location was great for us as we were visiting family in Belfast and County Down.
We had a wonderful stay at Ashside Cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for. After leaving Dublin the kids wanted a country experience in Northern Ireland and this was perfect. So much space both inside and out that we could spread out. The kids loved the horse neighbors up above! The only thing I would change is that I would book a longer stay to explore more of the area! Our hosts were fabulous and so welcoming and communicated great before the trip as I was asking for recommendations for a taxi service. They met us at the property to show us around and led us to a nearby store to buy some food. The house was stocked with everything we needed as a family of 7! It was a wonderful experience! Thank you!
This is a magical relaxing place to stay! We were greeted by Richard & Rosemary and shown the entire house and grounds. Breathtaking does not do it justice! It had everything promised in the reviews. Very well equipped and the sun room became our favorite place, from morning tea to evening drinks. I highly recommend this place for anyone with a large party who wants to relax in the countryside. Note: It was still easily accessible to places we wanted to visit. 5 Star all the way!

Great guests!
Elisabeth and friends would be most welcome anytime.
This property was just perfect for our group of seven. It had enough space for all of us to sleep comfortably. That’s not what made it perfect though. The house was cozy and quaint and full of windows to look upon the lovely view of green fields. The gardens were gorgeous to walk thru and admire. We got a warm welcome from our hosts. The fresh loaf of brown bread was the perfect touch. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here and if I’m in the area again, I’ll be back.
We had such a wonderful stay at Ashside Cottage, we didn’t want to leave! The property is utterly charming, set in its own grounds with beautiful established gardens to wander through; it even had its own strawberry patch where we were able to pick our own as well as a pair of horses in the field adjoining who came to say hello to us every time we went up there.Richard and Rosemary are great hosts. They met us at the property and showed us round. When they left, they even drove us up to the nearest shop (where we got absolutely everything we needed) added to which they even gave us shopping bags from the cottage for all our stuff! Inside the cottage, we had absolutely everything we could ever need. The kitchen was like home from home with everything you could ever need. There were 4 bedrooms, one twin downstairs with an en-suite wet room and then 2 doubles and a twin upstairs plus 2 additional bathrooms (one with a bathtub if you have little ones or like me, enjoy a relaxing soak). The sitting room was really beautiful, it even had an antique piano and yes, it was in tune! The dining area adjoining could seat 8 if I remember correctly, lovely big table. In addition if you want peace and quiet you could go into the conservatory as well as outside seating in the garden.Couldn’t fault this place, it was perfect
