The Bi-Valve is quintessential Maine cabin. We had a wonderful stay on peaceful Herrick Bay. The kayaking was fantastic - our favorite paddle was around Naskeag Point for a picnic on Hog Island. We really enjoyed the lookout deck - love being able to see the Milky Way and shooting stars at night!
We loved the location, the screened-in porch, proximity to the water and the cozy, comfortable cabin. Weather even permitted two or more swims! Kitchen was well appointed, beds were comfortable and we particularly appreciated the heat on cool mornings. Great stay and we would like to come again.
We love Bivalve. It was our third stay there. The cottage is well-equipped and has a classic rustic feel. Spending time on the porch or observation deck is good for the soul. We discovered the bar at Brooklin Inn and had an excellent dinner at The Lookout Inn.
Perfect location -quiet, on the water, and close to town, Wooden Boat and Naskeag Point. Very clean with a well-stocked kitchen. We will definitely stay again!
We had a fantastic time spending almost a week at the Bivalve. It was not too long of a drive to Acadia and other beautiful places to explore. It was the perfect spot for the five of us to enjoy our first family vacation in almost a decade!
We had a lovely time at this cabin! All the amenities listed were there and the cabin as a whole was very clean. The view from the porch was stunning at sunset and there are many other shore locations and hiking trails near by to check out as well
We had an amazing time. It was a peaceful getaway that was perfect for my girls. They had a great time with all the board games. The view was amazing and we spotted eagles, cormorants, terns, plovers, rails, and osprey perched on the rocks. Overall a very fun experience for us all.

The screened in porch, view, and ability to go mucking right out the door were just delightful. Thank you for warning ahead to bring old sneakers to muck. We went out twice, the second time even finding large crabs. The bathroom was small and the cabin a bit remote, but it was a beautiful view. the screened in porch makes up for alot. We also like the viewing deck.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bivalve. The location was quiet, quaint and beautiful. The amenities were clearly described and we had all we needed to enjoy this retreat. Our only complaint would be lack of comfortable seating, with just one small couch to relax on for a family of 4. Overall, we had a great time!
I can't say enough how much I loved our stay in Brooklin. It was so peaceful and I loved being at the waters edge. The screened in porch was amazing. I loved waking up with a view of the water. The kitchen was very well equipped for cooking meals. So many fun daytrips nearby. Feeling very well rested. Hope to return someday!
Bivalve is an excellent property and location for a quiet week of renewal. After a rainy early summer in Maine, our week was mostly sunny. We visited some of our favorite Down East sites, but spent many hours on the screened porch, reading, talking, and staring at Herrick Bay. A Belted Kingfisher appeared the morning we departed to bid us farewell and invite us to return.

Thank you for your kind comments. Perhaps the seals were there too. Come back anytime.

The Bivalve, a rustic cabin on a quiet cove, is the perfect place to get away but still be close to good restaurants (Brooklin Inn, Tinder Hearth, Aragosta) and great hiking (Acadia and Great Pond Mountain). The kitchen is well stocked and the screened-in porch, right on the water, is idyllic. Saw seals and eagles daily. We hope to return.
This was our second year staying at the Bivalve. It was perfectly quiet and relaxing. The eagles, osprey, king fisher, pipers and seagulls were the best entertainment while viewing from the screened porch. This quaint and charming cottage is clean and well equipped with everything you need. My favorite is the refreshing outdoor shower! We hope to return again.

The Perfect Spot
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Bivalve. The cabin is quiet, comfortable and well-appointed. It's great to watch the changing tides from the screen porch. High tide is the perfect time to kayak; low tide offers the ability to sit out on the rocks and explore tidal pools and watch the sunset. The Brooklin Country Store is very close by and has all the essentials (and then some!). We really look forward to our next visit!
Having spent my childhood summers in Brooklin it was like going home. Our visit to the Bivalve was the perfect getaway. We embraced the peacefulness and solitude of this cottage which had everything we needed. Lots of time spent watching various seabirds and the changing of the tides. Very hard to leave. Simply the best! We’ve booked it for next summer.
Our second visit. Quiet location, easy distances for daytrips and screened-in porch when not day tripping. We are senior citizens, and we discovered last summer that it's difficult to maneuver the canoe in and out of the water (although the owner has now built a "launch deck"). We rented kayaks from the Activity Shop--they deliver and retrieve them--and enjoyed using the deck for sipping wine and reading. If you like the Maine woods, water, etc., it's a five-star location.

The description of the cabin was exactly as advertised. The pictures were accurate. We gathered mussels and dug clams, a true mollusk gathering cornucopia. The cabin is well located to the tiny, but charming town of Brooklin, the upscale town of Blue Hill, and is in striking distance to Deer Isle and Barr Harbor. Visiting the Wooden Boat property is a must and an easy walk from the cabin! Despite the petit scale of the building, it’s lovingly appointed with all modern conveniences. The outdoor shower is a delight. The beach is great for beach combing and the inlet is easy to access via Terry’s canoe.

Little bit of heaven
This is our second year renting this home and we will come back every chance we can. I came with my two teenage boys and it was perfect. The place isn't luxurious, but it is wonderful. You feel like you are all by yourself in the woods and on the water, and when you do run into neighbors, they are so cheerfully nice. I hesitate to tell you what a great experience we had because once you rent, you won't save any weeks for us. Take a chance... this place, and the owner, are worth it! Beautiful, peaceful, and utterly relaxing! Staying here is a blissful recharge you won't forget.

Idyllic Rustic Cabin with Modern Comforts and Stunning Views!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this adorable cabin! The rustic vibe perfectly complemented the beautiful surroundings, yet it was equipped with all the modern amenities one could wish for. The privacy was unparalleled, allowing us to truly relax and unwind. The views were stunning, and the sunsets were breathtaking!
One of our favorite features was the screened porch, which was perfect for enjoying dinners and morning coffee while taking in the serene atmosphere.
The location was ideal for exploring the area. We were just a short drive away from Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Stonington, which offered plenty of outdoor activities, charming shops and restaurants. Acadia National Park was also within a reasonable driving distance, making it a great day trip option.
Overall, this cabin exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable getaway. We highly recommend!
