1860 Historic Home with Living Room with Dining Area, Entry Room, Kitchen, Two Queen Bedrooms, One Double Bedroom. Shower and claw foot tub. Three decks to enjoy or grill out on. Private entrance. High speed fiber internet!!
Two unit house, owners occupy other half of house. The house sits on a large yard with beautiful gardens. Plenty of room to stretch out. Private fenced in side yard devoted to your family and your pets.

House overlooks Union River Bay across the street. Newbury Neck Road is a mecca for cyclists, walkers, beach combers, sunbathers and surf casters or for just enjoying the grand view of Acadia National Park's mountains at the beach. The beautiful, family friendly, quiet, pebble sand public beach is located less than 1 mile from the property and offers free parking and pets are welcome. The beach is a hidden jewel in an area where public access to beaches is hard to find.
Perry's Lobster Shack restaurant is right near the beach where you can bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy fresh Maine lobster, crab rolls, clams and ice cream on the pier overlooking beautiful views of harbor boats and Acadia National Park. If you'd prefer, you can bring the lobsters back to the house to cook them yourself in the lobster cooker we've provided for your culinary use. Five minutes away in the village of Surry is a full convenience store named Surry Store with groceries, snacks and a full menu of takeout pizza and subs. Also in Surry is a gourmet ice cream shop named Pugnuts - a great place to grab a treat at the end of a long day!
Rental property is adjacent to Blue Hill Heritage Trust Land scenic trails with Furth Wildlife Sanctuary and the Talalay Nature Sanctuary each having two miles of maintained trails. Just down the road is Carter Nature preserve which has .6 miles of trails along the shoreline. Blue Hill Mountain is nearby with 2.5 miles of trails up a scenic mountain with views of Blue Hill Bay, Acadia, and Camden Hills.
Surry and Blue Hill are just far enough away to get away from the bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Come back from a long day of sight seeing, hiking or biking on Acadia's 47 miles of carriage trails and relax on the peaceful front porch of this beautiful, historic home.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca
Joseph and Rebecca have lived in Maine for sixteen years. We love Maine and will gladly share our knowledge of the area during a stay at our home.
Rebecca and Joseph are professional gardeners with a focus on native plant, pollinator and organic veggie gardens. The two of us love to garden as the many fruit trees and flower gardens on the property demonstrate. Joseph also produces homemade jams and BBQ sauces which sell at his local stand - many made from the fruit grown on our property.
Please feel free to ask us any questions about the property. Our goal is to create a private and welcome environment for you to enjoy.

Why they chose this property
This property is a classic. Built in 1860, the house still holds many of its unique qualities of the past. Its curved plaster walls, stained glass windows and wood trim work welcome you. The covered porches prompt you to relax outside and enjoy a glorious Maine sunset with your ocean view of Union River Bay.
The property has a fenced in portion of yard that the pets of our guests are welcome to enjoy!
