Acorn Cottage: Privacy on 4 Acres in Kenwood

UPDATE: There are NO tasting room fees for our guests (pass required) at three local, family-owned wineries in Kenwood: Ty Caton Vineyards, Muscardini Cellars, and Loxton Cellars.

The Acorn Cottage is located approximately one hour north of San Francisco on scenic Highway 12. Your hosts, Bev and Jerry Stemach, invite you to indulge yourself in this charming vacation rental nestled among grapevines and ancient oaks in the heart of the Sonoma wine valley.

The cottage is generously appointed. Enjoy a private hot tub and patio, a bottle of petit verdot made from our grapes, and other delightful provisions.

If you are inclined to explore, an array of exciting activities are minutes away: hiking in local State parks or along coastal beaches, biking on backroads, dining in restaurants in Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and Sonoma, and wine tasting throughout Sonoma County's 13 viticulture regions. Napa Valley is just over the hill.

Bev and Jerry have lived here for nearly 40 years and they love sharing their insider recommendations to make your stay memorable. Read a few reviews if you need convincing.

Bev & Jerry were simply the most wonderful hosts. The previous reviews did not lie when they said how amazing this property was. We never like to visit the same place twice but we are trying to figure out a way to come back with friends already. The property is immaculate. The hot tub was such a nice touch on a cold night. Bev stocked the fridge with goodies for us. We saw wildlife on the property and had great recommendations of where to go, what to do, etc. 100/10 would recommend anyone visiting the Sonoma area to stay here.

Our stay here at Acorn house was amazing! Bev and Jerry are the best hosts and have the most beautiful property. The house is so cute, fully stocked with all the necessities, and in a quiet peaceful location. We feel so lucky we found this available and can't wait to plan a trip back. Bevs banana bread is delicious and Jerry has great stories to share, plus, we learned a lot about wine and Sonoma!

Just AMAZING in every way

Bev and Jerry have a wonderful space… they go over the top with everything… we did not need to shop as so many options were already there , from homemade banana bread to coffee and orange juice…to robes and flip flops for the hot tub…the best bottle of wine from their grapes, to a glass of wine and hour serves in their winery…we can not wait to return.

Acorn house exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, Bev and Jerry gave us a tour of them amenities and the home we will be staying in, which included a hot tub. They provided snacks which include cheese and crackers, banana bread, and a bottle of wine. The property is pristine, you feel as if you are in the middle of wine country, surrounded by plants, trees, and their own grapes growing on the vine. They also have a wine cellar where they invited us to share wine with them along with lite bites. The hospitality from Bev and Jerry was unlike any other Vrbo property that we have stayed at. We would highly recommend.

Getaway in the middle of Sonoma Valley

Jerry and Bev provide an excellent vacation experience. My wife and I stayed here for a few days for our 10th wedding anniversary. The setting of the acorn house at the back of the property provides a great sense of seclusion while still being in the middle of Sonoma Valley. The view from the hot tub of the 500 year old oak tree and vineyards is a great place to relax. The hosts are fantastic and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The complimentary wine tastings and snacks were icing on the cake. We can't wait to come back!

Amazing Experience in Wine Country

My girlfriend and I stayed for a week to celebrate a birthday, and this place was one of the highlights! The property itself is beautiful and quiet, and maintained to a standard that shows thoughtfulness and care. The hosts are the nicest people, they seem to actually care that people enjoy their stay on the property and in the area.

Wonderfully peaceful

Wonderful Hosts and sweet cottage

The Acorn House is a lovely cottage and the hosts were exceptional. They were very accommodating and generous, including leaving us a Marin cheese and crackers, homemade banana bread, wine, beer and bottled water. The hot tub was great and the property is private and secluded.

Exceptional Cottage with Amazing Hosts!

5 Stars is not enough to rate this beautiful oasis! By far the best stay we have experienced. The Acorn cottage was better than described with attention to every detail to the bottle of wine, cheese and crackers, makings for a continental breakfast and not to mention Bev's homemade banana bread. The cottage is private, with breathtaking views, extremely clean with attention to EVERY detail. Bev and Jerry go over and beyond being great host. A pure gem in Sonoma! We can’t wait for our next return visit! Thank you again Bev and Jerry!

Fantastic Memorial Day weekend

Best vacation ever

What an extraordinary experience. Everything was amazing. The property was absolutely beautiful. This cottage has everything. It’s so cozy and inviting, stocked with food, beverages, and the best homemade banana bread I’ve ever tasted. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was peaceful, relaxing and restorative. On top of all of that, Bev and Jerry were the most kind, gracious, and generous hosts. Words cannot express how grateful I am for their hospitality and truly what an amazing time I had. This was the best vacation experience and they played an integral role in making that happen. I’ll remember this trip for the rest of my life.Do yourself a favor and stay at acorn cottage. Jerry and Bev Stemach are life-long residents of Northern California. They have lived in wine country for 40 years and have hosted guests for 20 years. They farm petit verdot grapes under the Sonoma Valley appellation. Petit verdot is a Bordeaux varietal often used as a blending grape. When it comes to winery and restaurant recommendations, guests consistently describe Jerry and Bev as "spot on".
