Sunlight floods the open living spaces while you sip morning coffee in this updated home in historic Grace Tract neighborhood in Santa Rosa. Gather on the private patio under mature shade trees, or fire up the gas grill for dinner al fresco. Your group of 4 enjoys modern comforts in a quiet residential neighborhood. Just 0.2 miles to Willi's Wine Bar and Pacific Market, with Russian River Valley wineries 15 minutes west. The perfect balance of neighborhood charm and wine country access awaits.
The Space:
Spend mornings on the patio as the valley wakes up, afternoons among the tasting rooms or hiking Sugarloaf Ridge, and evenings around the firepit with a bottle from the day's barrel visits.
The living room bathes in natural light. Sink into the navy sofa before the fireplace and the 54-inch TV — built-in shelves hold board games, crown molding adds classic detail. A central island with cooktop sits beneath a pot rack at the heart of the open kitchen, with white cabinetry, granite counters, and a French door fridge alongside — proper home cooking for a Santa Rosa weekend. The dining table sets six just beside it.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Your private backyard awaits through sliding doors. Wicker furniture sits beneath a market umbrella on the patio. A manicured lawn stretches under mature shade trees, enclosed by wood fencing. Fire up the gas grill for evening barbecues while kids play on the grass.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The master holds a king bed with built-in wardrobes and windows overlooking the backyard, with an en-suite walk-in shower. The second bedroom offers a queen bed with built-in storage and a guest bath with tub/shower nearby. A queen sofa bed in the living room provides additional sleeping. Sleeps 4.

We have stayed at this house a number of times, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s very clean, comfortable, and close to where our family lives. The only minor complaint this visit was that we were there for 10 days, but no landscaper came during that time, so the backyard was full of leaves. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay.
The home is very comfortable and located in a lovely quiet neighborhood. For those who love to cook, the condiments are minimal. Other than salt and pepper and used olive oil left behind by other renters, the kitchen has sparse supplies down to supplying cleaning supplies such as dish soap and disheashing detergent. Other than that, the home was comfortable and clean.
Great location for visiting both the wineries and attractions in the Bay Area. Comfortable beds and linens. Would consider staying here again if we visit the area in the future.

Santa Rosa getaway
James House is a perfect base for exploring wine country! It is well-appointed, comfortable, and pristinely clean. Will definitely stay there on my next visit.
We had a great stay at James House! Perfect size for our family of 4 and had all the amenities that we needed. Loved the neighborhood and location - will book it on our next trip back to Santa Rosa to see family and friends.
The house was clean, well stocked and in a nice neighborhood. It was centrally located perfectly for everything we wanted to do. I’d stay again for sure!!
This was a perfect place to spend a few days in the area. Centrally located to the coast for easy day trips, and we looked forward to getting back to the house in the afternoon for dinner and for the kids to play in the yard.
