The house was spacious and clean, and perfect for our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids). The big yard was also great for outdoor running-around. Location is excellent to be so close to the dunes and beaches.
Trillium House provided all the space and more for our stay. We were 7 adults and we thoroughly enjoyed the rustic, but comfortable charm of the place. We had initial concerns with there only being 1 shower, but in the end it proved to be a very minor issue. We would definitely consider staying here again.
It is easy to see that the owners care when you enter the house. They have carefully chosen antiques and decor to suit this beautiful victorian farmhouse. We were able to bring 8 adults and one 4 year old together for a weekend and comfortably eat, sleep and interact - despite the cooler temperatures keeping us inside more that we wanted. Different sitting areas abound for quiet or lots of conversation and all the beds were cozy.
This is a good house for two families getting together. There are many bedrooms and a variety of different rooms, meaning people can always find a quiet spot to curl up. The kitchen is well stocked for large groups with lots of bowls and large pots.
We really enjoy the back yard and the proximity to Sandbanks for getting outside.
A great place to stay.
We had family coming from different parts of Ontario to celebrate a great milestone birthday.
The home was perfect with plenty of space inside to comfortably accommodate our needs. The home was very welcoming with subtle touches of the great country home it is.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable & well appointed.
The back yard was absolutely perfect with so much outdoor space to run, play and take in the natural beauty of the peaceful countryside.
We will definitely keep this place in mind for future family gatherings!!!
We were a group of five adult couples who needed a property that had five separate bedrooms, and we fell on this listing which accommodated that requirement (that tends to be difficult to find!).
We all really loved the place. It's quite a large home with many rooms to spend time in. The outdoor area is very spacious, allowing for many outdoor activities. We loved having the fire pit and wood at our disposal.
We thoroughly appreciated being a 10-minute drive from Sandbanks beach.
The only comment we wanted to make was the fact that there's only one shower, which caused a lineup for showering after beach day.
We would highly recommend this place!
I and my four friends truly enjoyed our November stay at Trillium House. We found a meticulously restored country house with well-appointed bedrooms for each of us. We often congregated in the cosy front room, which we used as a parlour in every sense of word. We particularly enjoyed the wood stove, even when closing the door tightly after adding wood proved problematic The country kitchen was equipped with a large dining table and everything we needed to prepare meals large and small. We enjoyed several hours in the comfortably furnished but cool back room watching movies on the large screen TV. Easy access to Sandbanks Provincial Park and other lookout points made day hikes fun. We had lots of space to park our four cars, with both Picton and Bloomfield within easy driving distance for shopping and restaurants. This was a beautiful home where the five of us could enjoy good company, good food and good wine!
The Trillium House is absolutely perfect in so many ways. It’s quiet, comfortable, cosy, spacious, clean, close to everything in the county, has a well-appointed kitchen, several eating areas and useful information on site. Our hosts were helpful with every aspect of our planning and were available when we needed help.
We highly recommend the Trillium House and look forward to another stay there.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for the weekend. The house was very clean and it included all the amenities. The amount of space with large bedrooms, a big kitchen table and lots of spaces to sit and relax was perfect for our family gathering!
Owners very easy to deal with and very accommodating. Allowed us to park camping trailer on side of the property for extra family member with newborn for privacy and there own space. Also allowed us to host large family dinner 25-30 people witch the house easily accommodate.
The property was great and suited our needs of 4 couples getting together for weekend of winery tours. Well equipped kitchen, lots of space to spread out and sunny deck on the back for breakfast made for an very enjoyable weekend.
We had a great long weekend with friends. There was lots of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the space. We went for long walks at Sandbanks and enjoyed cosy evenings by the fire.
We chose this place because it was a good half-way point for a family get-together, two coming from Toronto, three from Ottawa.
The beds were excellent, the rooms spacious and well-equipped. Everything was very clean.
I would consider booking this property again for a longer stay. I found we spent a lot of time driving during this three-day weekend, driving to reach the site, and then driving around to explore Prince Edward County. There are many interesting things to see and do, and taste, but all the sites are a little further away from each other than I would prefer. Not the fault of this particular property, of course, but a good reason to spend more time there next time, so as to have some non-driving days.
I wish the kitchen had had more dishtowels; we could find only one. Four or five would have been better. Also we could not find any scrubbing pads; they would have been helpful for scrubbing the broiler pan.
All in all a very pleasant stay.
We were a group of 4 senior women - long time friends on a fall jaunt to PEC. The Trillium House is a beautifully renovated, very spacious old farmhouse with a wonderful big kitchen/dining room, a sun room and 2 living rooms! The beds were so comfortable and the antique furniture is lovely. It's centrally located on a quiet county road with sunset views over East Lake. Just the perfect spot. The only problem was getting motivated to leave it every day to go touring around the County as we enjoyed being in the house so much! We would love to come back again. A wonderful experience.
Good large group accommodation in a good location.
Trillium House was a ‘big old country farm house’, full of character. Large rooms, high ceilings, and lots of different sitting areas. Nothing fussy about it, and with 2 of the 5 bedrooms downstairs, it was a great place for a multigenerational family vacation. Although there are 2 bathrooms, there is only one shower. It wasn’t a problem for our stay.
Communication was fast and very helpful.
