About this property
Spacious Family-Friendly 3BR 2BA London House +King Bed, 1-3min Walk to Tube+Bus
Spacious, bright and ideal for families, friends or couples. Walk to public transport in 1-3 minutes. Central London by Tube is 19 mins -- eg Waterloo, Leicester Square, Victoria -- for museums and main sites. Restaurants, cafes and sports facilities on your doorstep.
This 3-double bedroom, 2-bathroom London home offers flexible sleeping arrangements, two cozy living rooms, a home office, fast WiFi, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. All bedrooms have REAL beds with memory foam mattresses -- no sofa beds or Murphy beds -- for excellent rest and sleep.
Second living area means everyone gets their space to chill after city days. King Size bed in master suite, Queen Size Bed, Double Bed on floor below, plus extra single bed mattress for flexible sleeping/room sharing. (Air beds available on request.)
Easy 3-minute walk to the Tube (Clapham Common on the Northern Line) and a number of public bus lines 1-3 minutes walk from your front door. An overground train line, too. Clapham High Street station 4-mins walk (Windrush Line). All giving you fast access to the Natural History Museum, British Museum, Westminster, Covent Garden, Borough Market, Shoreditch, and more. Ride a classic red double-decker bus to Kensington, Hyde Park and Marble Arch for Piccadilly and Oxford Street.
If you're a cook, you'll enjoy a fully equipped kitchen - professional All-Clad cookware, microwave, double oven, gas stovetop - and open-plan dining with table that easily seats eight people.
For your convenience, the house has a full washer and dryer, and if you don't feel like cooking on vacation, stop as you exit the Tube at one of our many local pizza or US burger restaurants, pubs and cafes for dine-in or take-out.
For your sweet treats, Clapham Common is known for its coffee, cakes and pastries -- Lane Eight, Gail's, Trude's Deli -- and one of London's best ice-cream parlours, Nardulli. Three blocks from the house, you have one of London's best-loved parks (Clapham Common) for running, picnicking and bird-watching. Children's splash play area in summer!
My house is nestled on a quiet street but close to it all — unwind after sightseeing in a welcoming, sun-filled home.
Air beds also available on request.

About the host
Hosted by Susan E

I'm a cook, writer, film-maker, website designer, mother and entrepreneur who loves Clapham Common for its urban village feel, big green spaces, cafes and restaurants, farmers market and easy walk to Tube, train and bus stops to get all over London. My family is half-American, half-British, and we love the amazing energy and culture of London with so many museums and art galleries.
Why they chose this property
I fell love with this house because it was so close to everything my kids and I needed--public transport, shops, park, cinema, cafes, restaurants (pizza, burgers, also fancy dining), doctor's surgery, post office, ice cream parlour.
What made my heart sing was all the light inside the house and the wooden floors and staircase built by the previous owner who was a master carpenter.
I picked the area to have a big green park nearby for running, also a sports centre a block away with two swimming pools, a full gym and exercise classes.
And it's only 20 mins by Tube to get to Borough Market, Leicester Square, and other central sites.

What makes this property unique
So close to shops, eateries and public transport but tucked away on a quiet side street. Clapham Common is a real London experience as lived by locals.
The house has three floors with large bedrooms, two living areas, and a home office with a sofa to relax on, so everyone has their space.
I've filled the house with original art and bright colours so it's a cheerful place to be -- a refuge after a day of sight-seeing.
