About this property
Great Ski InSki Out-Private Home -NOT Condo or Townhome-in Upper DV-Silver Lake
Location! Location! Location! Our beautiful private home (NOT CONDO OR TOWNHOME) is located in the prime location Silver Lake Village in Upper Deer Valley! Silver Lake Village is the TRUE heart of Deer Valley! This is why Silver Lake Village is where ‘Stein Eriksen Lodge’ is located, the only five star hotel in all of Park City! The Village is amazing because you can walk to some of the finest restaurants in town! We hope you Enjoy our Beautiful Private Home!
See why Celebrities and people who value their Privacy choose our Beautiful Private Home in Silver Lake Village in Upper Deer Valley with great and very close Ski In/Ski Out to the Deer Valley Ski Resort! Our ski access trails are the same ski access trails used by many of the developments in Silver Lake Village, we just happen to be much closer to the trails than Ridgepoint, The Ridge, Double Eagle (lots of stairs), Cache, Aspen Hollow, Trailside and The Knoll.
FYI...VRBO says .3 miles to nearest ski lift, but that's if you want to walk over to Silver Lake Village, but we just use our Ski Out trail that is only the length of our neighbor's house! And our Ski In trail is the length of our neighbor's house on the other side of us! Both our Ski In and Ski Out trails are Very Close and Easily Accessible! Please note they are both intermediate trails…kids who are beginners usually do fine on them because their ski’s are small and instructors teach them right away how to ski trails. If you are an adult beginner skier inquire and I’ll explain the ski access so you can decide if it’s right for you!!
Our Private home is NOT a townhome or condominium. Most everything else in the Village is either a townhome or condominium with shared walls, a communal garage, or a private home without good ski in/ski out access (like in The Knoll).
We have repeat families who have been coming to our home for many years. Everyone who has stayed in our home has loved our home, our great Ski In/Ski Out Access* and our PRIME location! After a great day of skiing, come home and soak in your own private hot tub, nestled within the Aspen trees and 100 foot Pine trees. You are surrounded by a stream that we leave running year round so you can listen to the soothing sound of the water while soaking in the hot tub after a long day of skiing (it really is peaceful and beautiful)! A totally different experience than staying in a condominium or town home where your hot tub is often times less than 10 feet away from your neighbor!
You cannot compare our private home with the many cheaper condominiums and town homes in the area...it is an entirely different experience to have your own private home that provides seclusion and open space! Comparable 4 bedroom properties in our area charge well over $5,000 nightly (Stag Lodge) over Holidays! A 4 bedroom at The Chateaux is $12,000 up to $15,000 NIGHTLY during the Holiday's! Stein Eriksen Residences is also over $11,000 nightly over the Holiday's.
Plus, because our neighbor purchased 2 lots and built their house on the lot farther away from our house, we have even more open space surrounding our home! This is why our home is so private!
If you do not want to utilize the ski access trail, we are only a five minute walk, that is, less than 1/4 mile to Silver Lake Village, where you can catch the Upper Deer Valley ski lifts and purchase tickets from the ticket office. In Silver Lake Village, you will also find many fabulous restaurants, including the World Renowned Stein Eriksen Lodge and Spa. Also available in the Silver Lake Village area are great shops and complimentary Deer Valley ski storage, which saves you the effort of carrying your skis back and forth! This is, of course, only if you choose not to use the ski access trail. We highly recommend you use the ski access trail, if you feel comfortable on trails, because it is so much more convenient and enjoyable!
With several boutique shops, restaurants and amenities in the area, one does not even need to leave the Silver Lake Village area! However, if you want to venture out, there is a Free Shuttle bus that will take you just about anywhere in Park City that you would like to go. Not only is Park City home to the Sundance Film Festival, but Park City's Main Street is filled with fine restaurants, quaint shops and chic galleries.
Updates to our home: The Master Bathroom has a New Contemporary Large 2 Person Bathtub, a Shower with dual heads New Tile & Double Vanity with New Granite and 2 New Square Sinks (The picture in the photos only shows the New Bathtub, not the New Shower & Vanities)! We also have 60” Smart TV's wall mounted in the Master Bedroom and the Guest Master Bedroom and a 65” Smart TV wall mounted in the Den/Media Room. The majority of the house is hard wood floors and stone in the entry!
We have such great reviews not only because of our prime location, but because we keep our house VERY CLEAN...this is NOT your normal rental with many renters in and out of it! This is our PRIMARY residence, so we keep it Exceptionally Clean!!! We usually rent 2 weeks around Christmas/Hanukkah, 2 weeks around President's Week and then if we go out of town other times during the ski season. We always do a Very Deep Clean before we rent so know that this is a MUCH safer choice (Covid, Flu, RSV, etc) than communal living in hotels in the area because it is your own private home that has been deep cleaned!
*Please note, ski access cannot be guaranteed in early and late Winter seasons due to unpredictable weather. But fortunately when other areas like The Montage and Deer Crest are having a really hard time getting on the mountain, Silver Lake Village has much better and easier ski access. If our ski out trail is not open, it’s 5 minute walk to Silver Lake Village (and if you have kids, you can drive them over there in a couple of minutes, then come back park and just the driver has to walk). And then to get home if ski in trail is not open, you can hop on the bus (it comes at 22 and 52 after the hour...it leaves the Silver Lake stop at 26 and 56...so be there before 26/56 after the hour), our house is only 2 stops away. Look for the 1st stop around the Bald Eagle gate...after passing that bus stop, pull the string to stop at the next stop (which is in front of the Cache Condominiums). Fortunately we have never had our ski in and out trails not open by Christmas! Ski Out via the 'Silver Lake Access Trail' that takes you to the Last Chance/Success Ski Run. Ski In via the 'Double Eagle Ski Access Trail'. As stated previously you only walk the length of our neighbors' homes on either side of us to get to the ski out and ski in trails.
***DESCRIPTION OF THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF DEER VALLEY:
1. Upper Deer Valley/Silver Lake Village Includes:
• Limited Number of Private Homes (our private home is actually 1 of only 3 Private Homes in Silver Lake Village with GREAT Ski In/Ski Out access that rent).
• Condominiums, Townhomes and PUD’s: Black Bear Lodge, Cache, Double Eagle, Enclave, Little Belle, Lookout, Ontario Lodge, American Flag, Bellevue, Bellmont, Ridgepoint, Ridge, Royal Plaza, Silverbird, Sterling, Twin Pines.
This whole area in Silver Lake Village truly is the HEART of Deer Valley and gives you the best on mountain ski experience. Silver Lake Village boasts some of the highest rated restaurants in all of Park City, not to mention the great boutique shops, The Spa at Stein Erickson Lodge and all the various amenities. In addition, it is close to Park City’s Main Street. The only drawback to this area is that some of the older condominium complexes are dated.
2. Lower Deer Valley Includes:
• Many Private Homes (NONE of the homes in Lower DV have Ski In/Out Access.
• Condominiums, Townhomes & PUD’s: Aspenwood, Black Diamond Lodge, Boulder Creek, Chalet Montay, Chaparral, Comstock Lodge, Courchevel, Daystar, Deer Lake Village, Fawngrove, Foxglove, Glenfiddich, Greyhawk, In The Trees, Lakeside, Lodges at Deer Valley, Oaks at Deer Valley, Pinnacle, Portico, Powder Run, Red Stag Lodge, Silver Baron Lodge, Stonebridge and Sunspot (but the ONLY condominiums with Ski In/Ski Out Access are Black Diamond Lodge, Pine Inn & Trails End).
Like Upper Deer Valley, Lower Deer Valley is closer to Park City’s Main Street. The downside is it has VERY FEW properties with Ski In/Ski Out Access and some of the older properties are dated. Plus, the only restaurant in the area is in the St. Regis and you have to take the tram to get to it. Otherwise you have to drive or take the bus to Park City’s Main Street for restaurants, shops or amenities.
3. Empire Pass Includes:
• Private Homes
• Condominiums, Townhomes & PUD’s: Arrowleaf, Grand Lodge, Ironwood, Larkspur Townhomes, Northside Village, Shooting Star and Silverstrike Lodge.
The good part about Empire Pass is that many of the properties have Ski In/Ski Out Access and it is a newer area. The bad part is that it is more isolated and difficult to get to (particularly in a snow storm!) and it is far away from everything! At this time, there is only the Montage restaurants nearby. In addition, the majority of their condominiums are more like hotel room/apartment buildings.
4. Deer Crest Includes:
• Mostly Private Homes
• Not many Condominiums or Townhomes in this area & The St. Regis Hotel
Most of the properties have Ski In/Ski Out access and if you are looking for a really large home, this is an option. However, it is farther away from everything and the only restaurant nearby is The St. Regis. Ski access early and late season may not be available (and some years the gondola isn’t open early and/or late season, so you have to drive all the way over to Snow Park). If freeway noise bothers you, you will want to ask if the property you are considering has freeway noise.

We love Park City/Deer Valley and we are both VERY easy to get along with…we want to make sure your vacation is memorable, so we are always available to our renters!
Why they chose this property
Location! Location! Location! Silver Lake Village is the PRIME location in Deer Valley--we can walk to all the restaurants, botique shops and Spa at Stein Erickson's Lodge! My husband chose to build our house in this area because of this prime location and the great ski in/ski out access! Plus, it's only 2 miles to Park City's Main Street (now famous from the Sundance Film Festival). Main Street is filled with more amazing restaurants, bars, shopping, art galleries and more!
What makes this property unique
Our Deer Valley home is our primary residence and we love everything here or we wouldn't live here! We love the easy ski in/ski out access...we think it makes skiing soooooo much more enjoyable than having to park in the parking lot and carry ski gear! Silver Lake Village is THE prime location in Deer Valley--we can walk to all the restaurants, boutique shops and Spa at Stein Erickson's lodge! Empire may be the newer area, but it is so much further away from Park City (especially in a bad snow storm!) and you can't walk to all the great restaurants and shops in Silver Lake Village!! We also LOVE the summers since no one lives in any of the homes around ours...so it is VERY peaceful and stunningly beautiful. We take walks around the neighborhood daily
and we also love to hike around as well! We stayed this Holiday January 2014 for 2 nights at the Montage and we must be spoiled because neither of us liked it at all! We figured it was important for us to know what it was like so we could see why someone would pay over $3,600.00 nightly. Needless to say, we don't get it because we found it too busy with no privacy and we had to walk so far to everything (it didn't feel like it was very ski in/ski out when we had to walk to the ski shop, then hassle to wait for our ski's and boots). We prefer the simplicity of dressing in our ski gear, walking out our front door and one house over to our ski trail! Not to mention, the privacy and beauty of our hot tub and home nestled into the Aspen & Pine tree's!
