Enjoyed our stay at this lovely homeVery Comfortable beds, full kitchen, and the layout was great. Enjoyed coffee on the little porch, watching the town wake up
We stayed at Birky’s for 3 nights and could not have been happier with our stay. Check-in was easy, the home was clean, and the location was absolutely ideal. Close to all of the shops, restaurants, and walking trails. We had a wonderful stay and already plan to return in the future. Thank you, Eric!
Host Eric was very communicative and easy to deal with! The cottage was fantastic- very well maintained, great layout with 2 very comfortable and spacious bedrooms, and location was ideal! Very short walking distance to everything downtown but very peaceful, so great for sleeping. Highly recommend!
This was a charming house in a great location. We appreciated one sleeping area and full bath on the main floor as the steps were quite steep to the upper level. However, the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs were very comfortable. We loved that we were walking distance from the river and the downtown shops and restaurants.
This house is right in downtown walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in downtown saugatuck. The home was very clean and comfortable and I would absolutely stay here again.
Perfect for a stay in Saugatuck, right downtown so an easy walk to everything. Very charming. The hot water upstairs did not work, and the stairs were very narrow and creaky, so it might not be a good place for older adults.
Wonderful stay! House was a beautiful old home in the perfect location. Everything we needed was on hand for our family of 4. Clean and welcoming. Just a short walk to everything in town. Having a dedicated parking spot was so helpful as street parking filled up quickly most days. Host was very kind and helpful. Great communication. We hope to come back!
The only concern is if you have people who have a hard time with stairs as they are a little steep, but it is an old house and how they came in the day. Great stay
The home was wonderful. Clean, comfortable and lots of attention to detail. We had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. The beds were very comfortable including the futon. The neighborhood was gorgeous and within walking distance of shops and the lake. The check in process was easy and the house rules were simple to follow. We all agreed we would stay here again and certainly recommend to our friends. Cindy S.
My family and I had an amazing time at Birky’s on Butler. Communication with the owner was great and the check-in/check-out process was seamless. The location was also a highlight with the house being a short walk to shops, restaurants and a park. We also appreciated all the extras that were included, such as parking, beach towels, and yard games. We’ll definitely be back!
Birky's on Butler is the ideal spot for a stay in Saugatuck if you want to be in walking distance of everything the town has to offer yet it's at the quieter end of Butler for when you are relaxing at the property. Believe it or not, the K-zoo River is only a short block from the house in 2 different directions. The home is perfectly sized for 2 couples or a small family (perhaps not recommended for very young children due to the steep staircase leading up to the bedrooms). There is a nicely sized yard (w/grill and table) for outdoor games and relaxation. It is clearly a multi-generational family home that has been lovingly cared for over the years. Eric has thought of everything when equipping the house including a generous selection of beach items in case you forgot or were unable to transport anything to Saugatuck. Overall highly recommended for the perfect getaway!
We stayed here for a long weekend & loved everything about this house except the cleanliness of it. It is very cute and in a great location blocks from downtown Saugatuck. However, the towels had been washed but then hung up in the bathrooms while they were still wet. Very strange -- especially because there were dry towels on shelves in the laundry area. We also noticed food under some of the furniture and leftover pieces of garbage in the bedroom garbage cans. None of this ruined our trip, but it did make us worry about the overall cleanliness -- especially during COVID quarantine!

Before their arrival, we accommodated a request to reduce # of days stayed and cost. Otherwise, we had no other contact with this renter regarding their concerns. To be clear, this rental did not occur during the governor’s shelter in place order or “quarantine”. While focus has been in disinfecting/wiping down high touch surfaces, we will review cleaning procedures to check underneath furniture and ensure bath towels are not rehung when damp. The dry towels referenced were large beach towels that would not normally be hung in bathrooms.
We have visited Saugatuck many times , this home is on the Main Street a few blocks from the center of town ( great location ) . The steep stairs going up to the second floor bedrooms are difficult to navigate , especially with luggage in hand .
Within walking distance of everything in Saugatuck
Very comfortable with all of the amenities we needed
Loved the large back yard
Very large bedrooms and extra bonus space on main level
Would definately return !
This historic home in Saugatuck was perfect for my family of six. So close to town, with a great outdoor space. The owner was fantastic as I had sent a few messages to him and he responded within minutes! The house also includes those little extra things you appreciate, like beach towels, tupperware for packing food, yard games, etc. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting Saugatuck to stay here! We'll be back!!
Our family of four had plenty of room to spread out at Birky's on Butler. The home was clean, charming, and located just a couple of blocks from the shopping and dining of Saugatuck. It had everything we needed and we highly recommend!
