When you walk through the front door you will gasp. The sweeping view is completely unmatched anywhere on the bay and is truly awe inspiring. You will instantly know that you made a great decision as you admire the panorama you'll get to see day after day from your perch atop the world.
This penthouse, Ático Altamira, is the largest unit in the acclaimed Casa Que Ve Al Mar complex which was designed and built by internationally renowned architect Enrique Zozaya.
Sleeping up to 8 people in beds and with a floor area of 3,000 square feet (280 Sq m) this condo is a perfect for families or several couples to stay for a week or more without the risk of feeling overcrowded. There is a cooling breeze that blows through the house most of the day and keeps you comfortable.
The colorful decor and custom furniture will give a your group a gracious and comfortable stay. The newly remodeled kitchen is fully equipped and better stocked than any place you will have ever stayed. It is perfect for serious cooks. The doors and cabinets are all local hardwood and the counters are local stone. The paintings and prints are by local artists, and objects are sourced directly from the artists in the neighboring states of Oaxaca and Michoacan. There are place appropriate decorative touches throughout. A comment we get a lot from our guests is "The pictures do not do this place justice."
The 16'x8' en suite pool has enough space for all guests to relax and take in the view. It also has ample exterior sunbathing space; take a swing in the hammock, sip a beer or cocktail in your sun lounger or simply read your favorite book in the pool. There are also two uncrowded common infinity pools with amazing views in a lush garden area.
It is less than a 10 minute walk down to the beautiful, long white sand and coconut palm lined Playa La Ropa beach. La Ropa was recently recognized as the most beautiful beach in Mexico by a major travel publication. There are a variety of beach restaurants, yoga studios, spas and recreation opportunities- paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling, sailing. Taxis are available within 2-3 minutes and will take you anywhere in town for just 55 pesos. We have a dedicated, covered parking space if you bring a car. If you prefer not to walk up the hill back from the beach, there is a taxi stand by the beach.
The penthouse is accessible from the driveway via a flat sidewalk, one flight of stairs, and an elevator that delivers you directly to the front door.

Why they chose this property
We started vacationing in Zihuatanejo in 2010 and fell in love with it. We first rented this unit in 2014 for trips with our grown kids and their significant others. These vacations were magical. The view is soooooo spectacular. Each time we couldn't believe that this place was as good as we remembered it. So when we noticed it was for sale we knew we had to make it our own while continuing to make it available to other guests.
What makes this property unique
First, the view. You really have to see it to understand how awe inspiring it is. Then there is all the space-nearly 3000 sq ft so you can have lots of people without feeling the least bit crowded. It is less than a 10 minute walk down to a beach that is on every list of best Mexican beaches. But most of all, Zihuatanejo is a unique fusion of traditional and modern Mexico. It is small and low rise enough to feel authentic but large enough to get to easily.
