Amazing house in the jungle overlooking the pacific ocean

Modern house in an ideal setting situated 300m above the sea with magnificent views of the ocean and the jungle. Enjoy a nice sea-breeze while you see birds and wild life from a beautiful swimming pool at the edge of the terrace. There are 2 big waterfalls in the property. There is a path from the house which takes you through the rain forest to the river and in 20 min you will be swiming below 2 waterfalls in an idealic setting.
The house has a large terrace for BBQ, dinning and a relaxing pool. The kitchen has modern appliances and all what you need for your vacation . The house is an open plan concept with high ceilings, fans, a good size kitchen island for meals and a big screen TV in the living room. There are three bedrooms . The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. The 2 guest bedrooms are in a separate wing and they share a second full bathroom. All 3 beds are Queen size with trundle beds in each bedroom for extra guests. There is also high speed internet and you can watch Netflix. There is a laundry room wih washer and dryer and a double garage.
To get to the property you will need a 4x4 vehicle since the terraine is steep 3km before arriving. It is a 3.5hs drive South from SJO. You will go from sea level to 360m in 6 km, but once you get there you will feel like you are in paradise. You will be waking up early to the sound of howler monkeys and birds. You can explore the jungle, go for walks or simply relax. I suggest to buy your groceries in Uvita before going up the mountain.
The area has a lot to offer from adventure tourism like zip-lining, river rafting and nature hikes to horse backridding, waterfalls and beautiful beaches all of which are within a short distance. There are numerous restaurants in the area, by the coast or in Ojochal (8kms). You are also close to Corcovado National Park and several other tourist attractions including mangrove tours.

Amazing!!

The house and property exceeded all of our expectations. We love spending our days walking to the private waterfalls, lounging in the pool and enjoying the views. The window seat in the master bedroom was my favorite place to sit and read a book. We also loved all of the local restaurants and excursions that were close by.

Penthouse of the forest

It’s a beautiful house on a marvelous spot. The staff is doing everything to make your stay unforgettable. You can compare view with a penthouse, overlooking the whole big city. But instead, overlooking the Pacific and a part of the forest.

Stunning views!!!!

The property was even better than what the pictures show! The house, the grounds, the hike down to the waterfall, the patio, the pool all a 10 rating! The views were breathtaking. It was lovely seclusion with many birds and Howler monkeys heard in the distance. When we arrived we were shown the road and followed up the hill to the house. Once you’ve seen it and driven it once, it was no problem at all with 4 wheel drive. Both my husband and I drove it and it was actually a fun and scenic road to the house. Highly recommend this house!

Do NOT let the reviews about the road scare you - a 4 wheel drive vehicle gets you up there just fine! This house is beautiful with sunsets that you will never forget! Wilson is easy to communicate with via whatsapp and he shows you to and around the house which is well-appointed for your group with everything you need for a great stay and any appliance you could want for meals, large clean bathrooms, and comfortable beds. The outdoor area will amaze you and the hanging swings were the perfect spot to relax during a rainstorm!

Spectacular

Stunning property and vista! We had an amazing stay over Christmas, the highlight of our trip to CR. The house was perfect for our family of five and would easily suit a larger family or a vacation with grandparents. Once there we did not leave the property, enjoyed the hike to the waterfall (thank you to whomever maintains that trail!), the lovely pool, lots of visiting birds, fragrant lime tree and the most amazing views. Adolf and Wilson were wonderful to communicate with, we truly felt like guests. Thank you!! We made awesome family memories in your home and hope to return one day!

Beautiful Villa Cascades in Puerto Cortez, Canton Osa

I guess the most important review you can make is would you go back? The answer is Yes. My family stayed 11 days and the property managers Ann and Kevin are Amazing and very helpful. Our vacation rental in the Jungle on a Mountain had breathtaking views facing the Pacific Ocean which was fantastic. We saw Toucans relaxing over the backyard and could hear Monkeys in the early hours of the morning. The private house was spotless, spacious and very well equipped for all your travel needs. Living Room has Flat screen Tv with Netflix and the house is equipped with good Wi-Fi signal. The locals are so much Friendly, the location is superb with many Beaches, Stores and Restaurants within 30-40 minutes drive. Costa Rica is a wonderful place

Osa high up the mountain house

First and foremost the house is great, comfortable with exceptional views! The kitchen has everything you need (blender, waffle iron, juice press, slow cooker…it’s missing some plastic wear for poolside but has everything else). The view from the master bedroom is sensational…and you will wake to the sound of howler monkeys every morning at dawn! It’s truly magical! The BUT…unfortunately is the lack of information on how bad the « road » is to get there…it’s a 15 minute white knuckle drive up the steepest incline, hairpin turn road every time you go out…or come in. The need for a significantly powered 4x4 can not be understated here… If you’re looking for a secluded paradise where you aren’t going to town often or out to dinners this is perfect!

Can we stay here forever?

We had a little taste of Paradise while living at Villa Cascada. If you love nature, it is the place to stay. We woke up almost every morning to the sounds of the howler monkeys, we even saw them in a nearby tree. You are surrounded by the jungle and all its sounds and aromas. We saw lots of toucans, butterflies, birds, bats, coatis. The views are amazing. The road to the villa was scary the first time, but David waited for us on the main road and led us to the villa. You definitely need a 4x4, with high clearance. Afterwards, we enjoyed the road every time. David is amazing, he is there to help you with everything. Walter, too. They made reservations for us with some great tours, we are happy we went with their recommendations. If you want to live in the jungle, very privately but with all the amenities, this is the place. Thank you from our hearts, Dr. Hamman, David and Walter! Pura Vida!

Jungle get away

Breathtaking view!! This home is a diamond in the rough. It’s nestled in the middle of the jungle at the top of the mountain overlooking the Pacific. We saw a variety of birds, bats, monkeys, plenty of lizards/frogs and many different species of plants. Thanks to its great location we were close to so many great activities and must see places in the area. Without having to venture far; we were able to visit many waterfalls, beaches, local restaurants/bars, and take part in cool excursions such as zipline and hiking. After a day of exploring the Costa Rican coastline, we loved jumping into the pool and eating dinner on the deck while enjoying the beautiful sunset. Much to our surprise the house was pleasantly cool and very comfortable to sleep in during the nights. This is must be due to the unique open design of the house and all the open screened vents that allow for constant airflow. Well-thought out and environmentally friendly design with comfortable furniture made our stay one of the best we have ever had! The house was immaculately clean and provided all the needed amenities to enjoy both a long stay or short holiday. We cannot wait to go back to this beautiful house and enjoy it again.

Our home away from home

We have had the pleasure of spending over 10 weeks at this home over the last two years. We travelled extensively and stayed in many vacation rentals and this one will always have our heart. Waking up to this view is best start a day, watching the sunsets never gets old. No photo will ever do this view justice. We have looked at several properties in and area and few have a view like this home. The home is stocked with everything you could ever need, air fryer, crockpot, panini maker, blender etc. Yes the drive is an adventure and the first time you do it you think its a bit crazy but its really not once you know what to expect. Any home with this view will have a similar drive, its a very common drive for this area. Waterfalls on the property is beautiful but it is a trek getting back up. Toucans, acaris, green parrots and other smaller birds can be seen. We have seen monkeys on occasion and a coati. Tons of interesting bugs, grasshoppers, gekkos, moths and butterflies can be seen. Book this rental, I assure you won’t regret your stay here!

Amazing stay!

This home is gorgeous! The grounds are incredible, the views are stunning. We had daily visits from toucans and other beautiful birds and butterflies. We heard the monkeys but never saw them. One morning a pizote ran through the backyard. Walter and Adolf were super helpful with anything we needed while we were there. We asked Adolf about an excursion that was a bit off the beaten path. He fully delivered with an excursion that could not have been further from tourists! This was a truly rural experience with a friend of his named Rim, who met us at the end of one of the rivers in his boat, took us to his home on the beach island of Playa Garza where him and his wife cooked us lunch, showed us around the island a bit and basically left us to explore the island and beautiful beach alone. Rim even gave me a whole fresh red snapper he had caught to take with me back to our home Fair warning, this excursion was great, but it was waaaayyyy off the beaten path so truly for those looking for a bit of an adventure. Everything else was as mentioned by others. 4WD is a must. The road up to the house is long, windy and up and down some pretty serious hills. I recommend video recording the way up and down the first time on your phone just in case. All in all an absolute amazing experience!

wonderful time at Villa Cascada

We had the privilege of admiring an exceptional panoramic view of the mountains, the lush vegetation, and the sea. The house is perfectly positioned to witness breathtaking sunsets. Walter is a friendly and dynamic man. He took good care of us. The garden around the house is meticulously maintained and composed of multiple potted plants and flowers. What an incredible experience to be immersed in such pure nature with the sounds of insects, birds, and monkeys in concert. The trail leading to the waterfall is an incredible asset to this property. This private path invites you to take a stroll through an unspoiled forest. There are guardrails that secure the steeper part. We loved eating on the outdoor patio and rocking on the typical Costa Rican chairs during aperitifs. It is a house where life is good. Adolf, the owner, was very concerned about our well-being during our stay. He allowed us to live a unique experience on a Pacific island. A one-day package with a warm couple. They came to pick us up by boat. They fished and then prepared a fish for us. They baked the dish in a pottery oven. It was delicious! A fantastic organic experience! We picked coconuts, ate melons and tasted coconut hearts. We spent a lot of time swimming on this award-winning beach worthy of a postcard. We also really enjoyed the restaurant at Citrus. What a memorable gastronomic experience! We have rented several villas in Costa Rica and this villa is among our top favorites!

Heaven on Earth

Perfekte Villa inmitten einer traumhaften Natur!

Wir verbrachten eine Woche in dieser außergewöhnlichen Villa. Umgeben von Regenwald mit praktisch keinem Nachbar in der Umgebung konnten wir die Ruhe und die Natur gleichermaßen genießen. Tiere kamen immer wieder direkt am Haus vorbei (Tucane, Affen, ...). Vom Pool aus kann man abends entspannt die Sonnenuntergänge über dem Pazifik beobachten. Auf dem großen Grundstück gibt es auch zwei Wasserfälle die man über einen kleinen etwas steilen Dschungelweg erreichen kann. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und sehr geräumig. Auch die WLAN-Verbindung sowie Netflix funktionieren perfekt. Besonders genossen haben wir die vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten im Außenbereich die man auch bei Regen sehr gut nutzen kann. Das Haus ist aufgrund seiner Lage (400 m über dem Meer) stets angenehm klimatisiert. Sowohl der Vermieter als auch der Hausverwalter waren sehr hilfreich und die Kommunikation perfekt. Vom Haus aus sind Touren in die Umgebung gut zu erreichen. Die Touren aus Sierpe zum Corcovade Nationalpark und zum Schnorcheln bei Cano Island haben uns hier besonders gefallen. Möglichkeiten zum Einkaufen gibt es sowohl in den nahe gelegenen Kleinstädten (wie Uvita) oder auch direkt am Fuß des Berges in Coronado. Wie auch bereits mehrfach geschrieben ist für die 5 km lange Anfahrt zum Haus unbedingt ein gut motorisiertes Allradfahrzeug erforderlich (Schotter-Strecke mit sehr großen Steigungen in beide Richtungen). Wir haben eine tolle Zeit in der Villa verbracht - herzlichen Dank! Pura Vida :-)

Perfekte Auszeit

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit in diesem Haus. Alles was wir uns gewünscht haben war vorhanden. Ruhe (wundervolle Natur), ein wunderschöner Ausblick (traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge) Sauberkeit und viel Platz. Die Ausstattung war hochwertig und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Der eigene Wasserfall nah am Haus hat uns am meisten begeistert. So privat und natürlich hat man einen Wasserfall noch nie erlebt. Eine super Betreuung von Adolf und von Wilson vor Ort und ein freundlicher, pünktlicher Empfang. Die Strecke zum Haus ist in der Trockenzeit mit Vierradantrieb zu meistern und ein Erlebnis für sich.

Amazing!

Not sure where to begin. The property was exactly as depicted in the photos. An amazing vacation from start to finish. Communication between owner and caretaker was the best. First and foremost, a shout out to Adolf for helping us with a small issue that required medical attention. He was able to get us an appointment within an hour and all was well. The house was absolutely gorgeous and well equipped with everything we needed. The wildlife, sunsets, and ambiance of this property was top notch and better than expected. The remote location made it relaxing and the 20 minute drive up the mountain was enjoyable every time! Lots to see and many stops along the way to take it all in. 4 x 4 vehicle definitely needed. Thank you Adolf and Wilson for a luxurious home to stay in for our vacation. We will be back!!! By the way…highly recommended the private chef to come to the property to make an exquisitely delicious dinner!

Gorgeous house & views

My sister & I stay here for 4 days, the house is beautiful with absolutely gorgeous views. The house is hidden among the trees of the rain forest . We saw monkeys and toucans . We were unable to access the waterfall due to a mud slide prior to our arrival . The drive up the mountain is quite an experience and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is definitely needed. If you are looking for a beautiful remote location away from life this house is the perfect place !

Amazing Birthday Getaway in Paradise!

I truly don’t know where to start this amazing review at, but first I have to say thank you too such an amazing host Adolf. His hospitality and beautiful home truly made this birthday a one of lifetime experience. Also thanks too Wilson for being so accommodating with anything we needed during our stay especially with travel arrangements to the property! Not only did Adolf , Wilson and their team surprise me with a birthday welcome and drinks he also recommended a lovely personal chef and massage company I was able to have in the home for a wonderful private celebration for my family. The property is breathtaking pictures will due it no justice the waterfalls on the property truly beat any experience or excursions for me although we did many in Costa Rica nothing is better then taking a swim at your own private water fall in the middle of the jungle for me lol. I do advise the hike down requires some skill but is well maintained with railing - beyond worth it and an absolute must on this property! I can truly write a book or start a blog on the finest details even the drive to the property with all the local vendors outside but truly I just highly recommend you check this place out yourself very private and always felt safe. So happy I choose this location and will probably be back! The Tucson’s in the tree while swimming, the sunset, the fully stocked kitchen yeah it’s all there absolutely Paradise!

We loved the remoteness of this home. The view from the back patio and pool are amazing It's surrounded by lush forests and abundance of wildlife with a 40 minute drive to Uvita with great grocery shopping.. There's also a waterfall on the property that's a worthwhile hike. Still have not received our security deposit from vrbo hopefully we won't have to fight for it

Dream house in paradise

On top of a mountain and with view to the ocean, in every evening we had a really fantastic sunset spectacle. In the morning, we would wake up with the birds and howler monkeys. The house is very spacious, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped, and you have a choice between gas and charcoal grill outside. You need a four-wheel drive to get there but the unpaved road is well maintained (just quite steep in some places). Due to the elevation, it was always nice and breezy, no air conditioning needed. The garden was very well maintained, and we did not have any problems with pests (no mosquitoes, flies, etc.). We also felt safe at all times. The location was ideal for trips to beaches (Piñuela, Hermosa, Uvita, Ballena, Dominical), the Nauyaca Waterfalls and Caño Island. I especially enjoyed observing howler monkeys and toucans from the terrace! I could have stayed longer!

Why they chose this property

This whole mountain development is owned mainly by Canadian and American ex-pats and the atmosphere is unique, social and very peaceful at the same time. We fell in love with this area of Costa Rica many years ago since it is a bit remote and uspoiled with no big tourist developments but has a nice character to it with lots of small family buisiness, mainly unique small restaurants from all over the world. It is also much greener than the rest of C.R. due to an abundance of fresh water. Since there is no polution there are no much insects, like mosquitoes, and everything is lush and pristine. It is a bird watcher's paradise!

What makes this property unique

It is a remote location perfect to find peace and quiteness but with lots to do nearby.
