About the host
Hosted by Jack Agnew
I've lived in Key West since 1999 spending a tad over a half year here and the rest in the Boston area where my two daughters and two granddaughters live. My career has ranged from being an early morning DJ in Cleveland, Ohio to a television career in Seattle, Memphis, San Francisco and Boston. Then I was a partner in a public relations firm in Boston that was purchased by a large international PR firm based in Paris. So my other career has been as a college professor, professional actor/singer and serving on such non profit boards as Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston; Big Sister Association, The Salvation Army and Metro West Legal Services. And of course renting out my two vacation homes in Key West, the other being #361238 here on VRBO. Come on down.
Why they chose this property
Ever since I took my two daughters camping on the keys, I have had TAE (Truman Annex Envy), I couldn't afford to buy down here but I visited on business trips and for vacations. When I sold my public relations company in 1999, I got on a plane the next week with my daughters and we purchased our first property in the Shipyard section of the Truman Annex. When the market peaked in 2005, we sold that unit and bought a cottage in Shipyard. Then in December of 2016, we saw an extraordinary end unit condominium come up for sale and after selling a property in Boston, we acquired this second unit where I am typing this information and called it "A Touch of Havana" to remind me of the many trips I have taken to Cuba on humanitarian and educational trips in the last 15 years.
What makes this property unique
Well some of the USP's (Unique Selling Propositions) are 1. As information loose leaf book with a rundown of everything you want to see and do as well as a map of Key West and a diagram of the Shipyard section of the Truman Annex so you know where everything is. 2. Special power ports to charge your cell phone or other electronics 3. This is among the largest of the two bedroom, one bath end units as my property on beautiful Southard Street was part of Phase 1 of the Truman Annex when it was built. Later units have a smaller footprint. 4. I deal directly with you the guest. No automatic electronic bookings, commissions, fees. We communicate before we each decide this will work and be a win win for both of us.
