About the host
Hosted by Al and Judie Worthen
We love Nauvoo and loved serving as full time missionaries here from 2014 to 2015. We bought Deseret Heritage Manor as a heritage to our children and grandchildren who have come to love the spirit and feeling of Nauvoo as much as we do. We live in Bakersfield California and make a point of making a trip to our "favorite city by the Mississippi" at least a couple of times a year.
Why they chose this property
Believe it or not we bought this beautiful home sight unseen from a posting on the internet and have never regretted it one bit. The house has a special feeling of peace & when we gather here together as an extended family there is no bickering between our 13 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren, only lots of laughter and love. We don't have pioneer heritage and are both converts to the LDS church but the spirit of Nauvoo rings true in our hearts. We hope you can feel it too during your stay.
What makes this property unique
We have tried to furnish our home with uplifting sayings and pictures that will help bring the spirit of Nauvoo into your lives. The view from the high windows in the living area are wonderful--you can even see a full moon without going outside!!
