Big Platte Lake Waterfront Cottage!

Come enjoy this adorable shared waterfront cottage on Platte Lake!
This well-maintained cottage can serve as a great home-base for your vacation, or as your little "peace" of paradise for the week!
Enjoy swimming from the beach or soak in the sun on the dock. The water in front of the property is shallow and perfect for the kids, or those who want to "ease their way in". A picnic table is available just off the deck for outdoor meals, and there are lots of games and movies for evening or rainy weather fun. TV, DVD player, wifi, and bluetooth speaker available for electronic entertainment.
The rental/cleaning fee includes all linens (pillows, sheets, blankets, down comforters, and bath towels).
You will find all you need in the fully equipped kitchen (also provided: dish soap & towels, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and basic spices).
Gas grill available on deck.
Shared beach, dock, and fire pit (wood provided).
Please bring your own beach towels and water/beach toys.
Platte Lake is an all sports 2,500 acre lake with small mouth bass, pike, walleye and pan fish. The Platte River is just around the corner and is ideal for kayaking and stream fishing.
Area attractions include: Sleeping Bear Dunes (20 minutes), Frankfort (20 minutes), Traverse City (40 minutes), Crystal Mountain for golfing or alpine slide (20 minutes), and Cherry Bowl Drive-In (less than 5 minutes). In addition, lots of Lake Michigan beaches, hiking, shopping, antiquing, and exploring the great local towns (Frankfort, Beulah, Empire, and Glen Arbor).

Perfect lake view private sand beach for entering the water with a toddler and decently sandy region around the dock. Great canoeing option near by, can hear some outside noise if other cabins are in use but generally quiet.

Cozy cottage with a great view

Great location to explore the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Cottage is in a quiet and peaceful setting with a good choice of local eateries. Don’t forget to pick up a cherry pie at the Cherry Hut restaurant in Beulah.

Nice views off Platte Lake

The stay was easy and the views were good. The cottage is smaller as advertised but was comfortable, cozy, and never felt tight. The waterfront views were amazing. This is the perfect place for a couple (or small family in our case) to experience this part of Michigan at your own pace.

Cute little cottage on a beautiful lake. Great proximity for tubing on the Platte River, Frankfort and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Very clean and host was helpful and easy to work with. Would stay here again.

Cozy Cottage

Wonderful area. Cottage was thoughtfully setup. Right on the water of a beautiful, mostly calm, sandy bottom lake. Plenty to do in the area...we choose to do very little and peace prevailed. May well do it again soon.

Cozy Cottage with Beautiful Views

Very clean and comfortable cottage. Lovely place to stay. Wish the weather was a bit better during our stay in the off season. We weren’t able to enjoy the beach and lake as much as we probably would have during the nicer months. Dock was already taken out for the season. Good to know for future.

The cottage was immaculate! It is close to the lake so it felt private. The lake is shallow, my 10 and 8 year olds were only hip deep off the dock. Nice sandy bottom. The kids loved the bunkbed and we all enjoyed the comfy couch and dvd player! Area is wonderful, owner is very helpful...hard to beat!! Only down side was the lack of a closet in the kid's room.

Lakefront relaxation

The property is neat and clean with the water's edge just a few steps away. The cottage is small (as advertised) but that is part of the charm and has everything you need for a couple or small family. Besides, you are on the lake and should be outside enjoying the view or the nearby beaches, restaurants, etc. We rented this place because of its proximity to Frankfort Beach which is one of our favorites. The neighbors are friendly and it is a nice quiet place to relax at the end of the day. This was our first time here but we would definitely do it again.

We were so impressed with how clean and updated this cabin was! The attention to detail was noticed and appreciated. Hooks and stools in all the right places made it easy to live in this small cabin with 4 moms for the week. The beds and linens were so comfortable- all 4 of us will be inquiring where to purchase them for our own homes. We loved the proximity to the water and the dock just steps from our door. I would highly recommend this cottage for a girls getaway or a small family who wants the convince of a house with a full kitchen. Loved it and will definitely be back!

Cozy waterfront cabin

My husband and I rented this cozy cabin on Big Platte Lake. It was close to Sleeping Bear Dunes which we visited on one day of our stay. The second day was spent in our small boat fishing on the lake. The cabin is the closest of 6 to the water with beautiful sunsets. It has a well-stocked kitchen, an outdoor gas grill, movies and games to enjoy in the evening. I enjoyed reading a large supply of travel magazines. Melissa was easy to communicate with and a friendly host. We would definitely rent again.
