Host profile image
I live in near Oxford with my wife and 2 daughters (aged 8 and 5). Right now, in addition to hosting our properties in Cornwall and Oxfordshire, I am a stay at home dad. Although I live in Oxfordshire, I feel that I have a really close connection to Cornwall. My mum is Cornish and I was born there (although sadly I'm only half Cornish!).

Both areas are great, and I can't recommend them highly enough as places to visit (not that I'm biased!). We regularly stay at our properties in Falmouth and St Mawes, Oxford and my childhood home, Glenfield Cottage. I feel that this gives me bit of an edge in terms of making my places as homely as possible, and providing all the stuff that people really need in a home (like sharp knives and a good selection of pots and pans).

Why they chose this property

Being the house where I grew up, Glenfield Cottage is a special place for me. Growing up, I always loved having all that Cotswold countryside and open space right on my doorstep, while also being close to Oxford and Witney as well as other attractions like Blenhiem Palace and Bicester Village. My parents decided to downsize to a bangalow in 2021 and we were all very sad at the thought of having to sell Glenfield Cottage. When it occurred to us that we might be able to keep the cottage by listing it on Vbro we were delighted! We've been letting it out to holiday makers since May 2021, and so far it's going really well! We hope that you get the opportunity to stay in this wonderful house and that you love it as much as we do!
