We had a lovely stay. A well appointed property with a lovely large secure garden and use of the tennis court. Peaceful and with great views from the garden and all rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the kitchen a great hub for meals and game playing with all our family (15 of us).The only minor inconvenience for us was there was no ground floor bedroom for our 94 year old nan (who struggles with stairs) but we managed. Personally I would turn the lounge into a ground floor bedroom and make the red bedroom opposite the kitchen into a lounge/snug, but that's just my opinion. We had a lovely time, the accommodations was dog friendly and an amazing location to visit nearby York etc. Would stay again, definitely
The owner was extremely helpful and responsive and the location was perfect. The walled garden was perfect for family to gather on warm days. However, although it’s advertised as sleeping 16, it doesn’t have the living space for 16, either to eat or gather. Other staff at the property were very accommodating and we loved the sustainable aspect of everything in the house.

So pleased you had a wonderful stay and we were only too pleased to help in every way - the kitchen table can be easily extended to seat 18 to gather and eat a leisurely meal all together as in the instructions. The handle is underneath the table. There is also the large living toom and loads of space outside. 16 guests stay very happily every week since 2016. Thank you for commenting positively on our sustainability.
Booked Brook Hall for a stag weekend of 12 guys, which Edward was happy to accommodate. It was a fantastic base while we spent most of our time out and about in York (20 - 30 minutes away) and Leeds (30 - 40 minutes away). Thanks for the recommendation of Dougies taxis as well, this was really helpful and they were great with really friendly drivers. Lovely location and house, particularly the garden. Perhaps even better if there were more showers (only 2) but this did not detract from the overall experience. Happy group and happy stag!

Ridiculously early departure time!
Positives:
The house was large with nice grounds. There was a nice walk to the local pub. The bedrooms overall were nice.
Technical issues:
• The hot tub kept tripping the fuseboard. So we missed out on the tub on the Friday night.
• A few more dishwashing tablets would have been helpful, as would bin bags
• The outside staircase up to the building had large spaces between the bars, which is dangerous for small kids. We suggest a simple wire in the middle of these to ensure kids don’t fall through.
• The radiators upstairs had an automatic setting where they kept switching back to 18C. Apparently, they needed to be switched over to manual setting, but this was unclear. An instruction booklet would have been useful there.
• The blind cords in the kitchen should have small hooks so they can be kept out of reach from small kids as they can be a strangulation risk.
Negatives:
• The large kitchen area was nice. But it was the only communal area and was quite a squeeze given the supposed 18 capacity. It would have been better to have set the opposite bedroom as a sitting room and had a 16 person capacity.
• Normally hotels have a 12:00 departure time on weekends for a reason! We had lots of kids and a few cars to pack and wanted to have a little time together in the morning before driving a very long distance. So, the 10am departure time was really far too early!
• We paid an awful lot for the cleaning service. It was therefore very strange to be expected to strip our own sheets
The setting was impressive, from long drive up to the house, to the lovely grounds. We had 14 staying ahead of a family wedding @ Bowcliffe Hall and enjoyed both the individual privacy thanks to the size of the house along with the large bedrooms throughout. The WIFI was strong throughout even with everyone using it at the same time. We found a couple of nice walks for the dogs. Edward was very welcoming at the start, but presume we played by the rules as we didn't see him after that. overall the house helped made the wedding as it was great to have all the family together. The only downside was there was no communal lounge as we had to congregate in the kitchen / dining room. Thanks Edward
We booked the Brooklyn Hall for a university reunion and the venue did not disappoint. The facialties are as exactly as described. The private garden was the perfect location for a BBQ and a few drinking games. The fire pit was the icing on the cake! Highly recommended!
We had an amazing time at the property. In total there was 14 of us that stayed (there was an additional 2 beds / a bedroom spare). The house is huge with a large kitchen that was our main point of gathering. It was really useful that there was a double oven and dish washer as this obviously helped cater for the large party size. Edward (the property owner / manager) was extremely friendly and helpful and after welcoming us to the property he left us to just enjoy the premises despite just being next door. The hot tub and outside area was great and we had plenty of room. Thanks for a great weekend!
