Very convenient location, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The view and morning sun on the deck was a great way to start the day. I'd definitely stay again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. Amazing location and perfect house for our family. We enjoyed all of the restaurants, shops and seawall within walking distance. Couldn’t have asked for a better location for our Sunshine Coast adventure! Thank you, Oona.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Gibsons at Oona's heritage cottage. The property is centrally located so made getting around very easy, despite the snow dump over the weekend. We appreciated the 3 levels allowing our two children to have their own space. All in all, we had a very nice and relaxing weekend!
We came on Boxing Day and stayed for 4 nights. The cottage was very cozy. Perfect my wife and I and our 2 teens. The location was excellent and everything was in walking distance. The owner, Oona was very helpful. We will come back.

Thank you Jamie. Would love to host your family again!
Our family of adults loved everything about our stay at this sweet, home full of light and character. The view overlooking Gibsons, the marina and ocean is gorgeous.
Our Host Oona, sets a warm, casual welcoming vibe, and the home is lovely. The beds are like heaven, and the brass bed in the top floor overlooking the view is a dream.
We had the best weekend because of this sweet space and will happily return in the future.

Thank you Lisa. You and your family are welcome back anytime!
The house was well outfitted with everything you need. Four adults were comfortable and the view was excellent. We were there for New Year’s Eve and had the added advantage of having a wonderful view to watch fireworks in the harbour. Communication was great! I would recommend this place!
Cosy heritage home with views across Gibsons Landing. It's a heritage home so it's a little wonky in some areas which all adds to the charm. The stairs are a little steep but you just have to take things a bit slower. Very well equipped with everything we needed. It's biggest selling point is that it's so close to the restaurants in town. A couple of minutes to most of them. Would definitely return. A really lovely stay.
The home in Gibson's is a great location for walks to downtown and the harbor. We spent most of our time on the deck with lovely views of the harbor and the mountains. The home was clean but had an odor that seemed to come from the basement. Once the house was opened up and the air was moving the smell was less prominent. Also, the third bedroom on the upper level is not usable on a hot summer day!

I am very sorry that there was a smell in the house when you arrived. I wish you had notified me at the time as I would have done whatever was necessary to deal with it. I have no idea what could have been the cause of it. My house cleaner didn’t notice anything when she was cleaning so hopefully whatever caused it is fixed?
Yes, that top bedroom gets warm in this unusually hot weather. I have a large fan in there but it sounds like I might need to buy a second one if we have another heat wave.
Thank you for letting me know.

I have wonderful memories of our visit here. Oona's cottage is comfortable, charming, well-equipped, and in a superb location close to the waterfront in Gibsons. The patio, where we dined most evenings, has a spectacular and expansive view -- very relaxing and inspiring! This was our first time on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and the cottage was a great base for beginning to get to know the area. Oona was very helpful and responsive when we reached out to her. (Be prepared for the very steep driveway -- we chose to park at the bottom most of the time, which was not a problem as the distances are short.) Highly recommended!

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay Peter. Come back anytime!
Our family of 6 adults stayed in this beautifully appointed 1930’s cottage while attending a wedding. We were very impressed with the gorgeous gardens, fabulous deck with view of the marina and everything you could possible need in the kitchen for meal preparation. There is one bedroom on each of the 3 floors, so plenty of room to spread out. The large loft bedroom with its dormer window overlooking the Marina was gorgeous. The bedroom in the basement had its own ensuite and was very tastefully decorated. Access to the downtown core is very easy as there are a set of stairs nearby so it’s about a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend the Mad Hen for breakfast!
Oona was a great host, replying very quickly to a couple of questions I had.

Lovely views, but a mixed experience overall
Oona's place has lovely views and is well-located. As she mentions, the home is an older heritage house that is very much lived in and feels very personalized. You do feel like a guest in someone else's home the entire time, which is neither good or bad, but this depends on your preference. Great care needs to be exercised around the wood (both in terms of the kitchen counters and with regard to the floors). Unfortunately for us, there was no note however about the floors, and we did not realize the consequence of using a small humidifier (a few of us had a mild cold picked up from our toddler's daycare and was using it at night to alleviate symptoms). We did not realize that the wood was so sensitive to condensation (despite wiping everyday), and we ended up paying some damages without dispute on our end. Ultimately this situation was resolved, but earlier in the conversation, there were also some implications about other minor wear and tear, like a bedskirt being dirty and closet floors being damaged, which were pre-existing conditions. We did not use either. I understand how it must feel to suddenly discover issues with your home, and it's easy to pin it on whoever stayed last, but that left us with something of a bad aftertaste and made us feel that perhaps this wasn't the best choice for us after all.
Other than the mixed experience due to the issue with bedroom floors and with other insinuations, we were just a little bit confused about the trash and composting, as there wasn't a way to compost while we were there. I would also caution that the steep stairs are really not ideal for young toddlers still learning how to walk.

I have been renting my cottage for 5 years and this is the first time I have had damage occur that I felt warranted compensation. I have engineered hardwood floors in the main floor bedroom which are very durable. I returned home after Mila’s visit to find the floors so water damaged that the floor joints were swollen in some areas, and one floor plank had cracked. A few floor plank joins are permanently water damaged. Additionally, water splashed up onto the baseboard and permanently left water stains. This was obviously a major water spill that was not dealt with in time. As I am not planning to replace the floors, I only charged Mila $130 for replacement of the ruined baseboard which I think is very fair.
We - a family of six adults- had a great time at Oona place. The place is not big, but cosy and comfortable. There was a room for everyone. The beds were ok and the kitchen had everything you'd need. The view from the porch is magnificant. There ar two beaches nearby. We loved the Georgia beach, it's about 15-20 min walk, a bit uphill, but with a nice view of the ocean. Secluded warm pebbles, good swim. There are lots of great hikes and other attractions in 10 to 1hr drive from the place.
This home is so beautiful and the location is amazing. Walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. The beds were the most comfortable and the view from the upper deck so beautiful. Such a warm a cozy home. I would definitely return !
Great little 1930's renovated home right downtown with patio and garden. Gorgeous views and lots of light. Appreciated the espresso maker and street parking. The only concern we had were the steep stairs inside and out that were a bit tricky for our seniors. Would stay again when on the Sunshine Coast.
Perfect for 3-4 people. It rained our whole stay and it was cozy to sit by the fire and look out on the water. Loved the location. Close to walking to everything in Gibsons.
This was our second time staying at this beautiful house. It was clean, comfortable, and contained everything that is needed for a perfect stay. It was great to have a barbecue this year..
The pictures show exactly how the home is.
We highly recommend Oona’s house.

It was a pleasure to host Sue and her group again!
Cute and Cosy great location great view. The house is equipped with every thing a traveller needs and more our family has dietary restrictions so we made use of the well equipped kitchen. It rained all four days so we didn’t get to enjoy the patio or the outdoor but overall we enjoyed our stay. It is our fifth time in the Sunshine Coast and our first in Gibson’s. We love the coast and definitely we will rent this place again.
