About this property

Casa das Arcadas - Free GARAGE - Praça de Giraldo - Historic Center

A modern, bright, and quiet apartment on the ground floor of a historic building, located along the medieval arcades of Praça de Giraldo, with its famous Henriquina Fountain, from which the high streets radiate and provide access to the city centre.
Sleeping above the arcades and waking up to a view from the balcony window—with its typical wrought-iron railings and imposing weather vane—of the Church of Santo Antão and Praça de Giraldo is a unique and unforgettable experience!

The apartment is located right in the heart of the historic centre, and you can visit all the monuments on foot, without needing transport.
There is a taxi rank at Giraldo Square, and buses run frequently. In the historic centre, all parking is paid, but the apartment has a free parking space at the Santa Catarina Condominium, about 50 metres from the apartment.

Wonderful place to stay in the center of everything. Provided a welcome treat for us - very unexpected but appreciated! Lots of room, airy and sunny, comfortable bed. Would stay again especially since Evora was also a great place to roam around. Thanks

We highly recommend this property for a stay of any length in Evora. The apartment is attractive, well furnished, very clean and well supplied with any item you would need for a comfortable stay. The location on a main square is excellent and we were able to walk to restaurants, shops and sights easily. The host, Luisa, is wonderful! When we arrived, she met us at the apartment, answered any questions we had and gave us valuable information on how to best see the Roman ruins and other sights in the short amount of time that we spent in Evora. Communicating with her prior to our stay was easy and she promptly answered all our queries. Than-you Luisa!

This is a flat that feels like living in someone’s beloved home and not like a sterile hotel: it has character. Luisa was extremely welcoming and ensured we were well informed and well settled. The flat itself is just off the city’s main square so it is not particularly quiet. The mattress could be due to be replaced, but that is my only complaint. A truly lovely way to live like a local in Evora.

I am very bothered and displeased with Eric's review of the apartment because it is unfair and greatly harms me. The apartment is located in the main square of Évora, but it is soundproof! If you want a place without noise, you shouldn't choose the city center! There may have been some special event in the square, I don't know, but generally the apartment is very quiet. Regarding the bed, you may not have noticed that all the textiles are of superior quality! Regarding the maxi-sized orthopedic mattress, you have a viscoelastic mattress topper that is ergonomic and adapts to the body and is considered the best mattress in the world, but you think it needs to be replaced and give me a negative rating? I think you should go to your doctor!

Luisa furnishes her place with extra details, and she provides a full introduction to Evora -- things to see and places to eat. She encourages guests to share their experiences with future guests, and these write-ups are interesting. The location can't be beat -- just off of the main plaza in old town.

Historic Evora

The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. We were right in the center of the historic area and could walk to everything. The little grocery across the street has fresh baked goods for our breakfasts and each and every meal was great. The unit included a parking spot which was ideal for rental car we had for touring nearby towns. We stayed 6 nights.
