Completely renovated Cottage with exquisite taste.

The farmhouse is located nex to the Butron River just 1 km from the spectacular medieval castle.

There is a trail along the river that connects to the cottage with the village of Plentzia which has a wonderful beach, shops and restaurants to taste the famous Basque cuisine

The house is fully furnished, has 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and an additional room with 6 bunk beds

The double-height living room has a large dining room, cozy fireplace and a corner with sofas to watch TV. The kitchen is well equipped with area for breakfast and lunch

It has a large garden with swings, soccer field and swimming pool in summer

The porch is large and pleasant with barbecue, wood oven and dining table with seating for 14 people, there is also a sofa area and hammocks

Idyllic Basque location

Great location (although car definitely needed), beautiful setting and a well equipped house. The kids loved the space to play, the pool and especially the treehouse. The wood oven was a revelation too! Plenty of room for our group of nine. Throroughly recommend. Thank you Inigo and Manu!

Fab stay for family of five from the UK

We had a wonderful two weeks at Caserio Butron. The property is huge and really well appointed and the surrounding grounds have to be seen to be believed. For two of our foster children this was their first trip overseas and we all had an incredible time relaxing, playing ball games and paddling on the river. Trips included Bilbao on the metro to visit the Guggenheim and Cabárceno animal park in Santander. The beaches at Plenzia/Gorliz are great but be prepared to use Google translate to book parking if your Spanish is rusty!

Amazing sanctuary in the countryside!

Our week at the Villa included 7 adults and 6 kids under 6yrs old. We had a magical time at the house itself playing soccer, swimming, saying hi to the neighboring donkeys (5?) times per day, exploring the river path and woods, and nearby castle. The house is perfect for a family gathering with just enough space to feel separate when needed, and together most of the time. Many trips also to Bilbao (30 min drive) and Plenzia (15-20) The beach in Plenzia also amazing and quaint. Our hosts' parents were wonderful, and the vision behind the restoration of the original cottage! Thank you for the amazing memories. We wish we were back there now

Mit der Großfamilie im großen Landhaus

Ein sehr schönes Anwesen mit wirklich viel Platz - innen und vor allem draußen. Es war etwas schwer zu finden, denn die Zufahrt ist nur über das Castillo de Butron möglich. Wenn das Navi eine Route von Norden her vorschlägt, vergessen Sie es! Die Kommunikation mit Manu war sehr gut - leider war er auf Reise und wir konnten ihn nicht kennenlernen. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Nur für eine Komplett Belegung ist die Kaffee Ausrüstung eigentlich nicht ausreichend. Vielleicht gibt es ja mal für Coffein Aficionados ein Vollautomat...? Ansonsten war die eine Woche viel zur kurz und wir können das Haus uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Bilder und Beschreibung stimmen top überein. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet, es macht Spaß in der Küche für große Gruppen zu kochen. Auch den Grill im Freien konnten wir sehr gut nutzen. Selbst im August war der riesige Garten saftig grün und gut gepflegt. Wir hatten 10 wunderschöne Tage in einer ruhigen Umgebung.

wir waren mit 9 Leuten mit Motorrädern da. Es war ausreichend Platz für alle. Das Anwesen selbst ist super gepflegt. Im Haus gab es kleine nicht erwähnenswerte Mängel, aber es ist toll eingerichtet. Die Küchenutensilien für Selbstverpfleger sind ausreichend. Nur der Grill müsste mal anständig gereinigt werden. Highlight ist natürlich das grosse Wohnzimmer und die Veranda vor dem super gepflegten Rasen.

Completely Perfect place - if only the weather was as good

7 of us stayed as we were attending the Rugby final in Bilbao. What a great base it was. It's in a beautiful location. The owners have done an amazing job of renovating to such a high standard. It was just a shame that it rained all weekend 😁. We all loved the place though. The owner was very communicative and I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. (You need a car though)

Fantastic property

Had a great holiday at Caserio Butron. Their is loads to do especially for children. We particularly enjoyed the pool and using the kayak on the river. Playing football under flood lights was good fun as well. The house was spotless and it was obvious the owners take great care and pride in the place. I have already recommended this place to friends and will continue to do so in the future and will hopefully return one day.

Wonderful place for a family holdiday

We stayed at this beautiful house with our family, a group of twelve - 6 adults and 6 children - early May 2016. It was perfect. Secluded, peaceful, a beautiful garden and lots to play with for the kids; table tennis, swimming pool, basketball, football, baseball or just playing hide-and-seek. So much to do for them, which provided us the time to catch up with one another. The house itself has great atmosphere and all the facilities you would expect. En suite bathrooms for all sleeping rooms. Well equiped kichen, great terrace furniture, bbq etc. We also liked the surroundings: Bilbao, San Sebastian or just a hike in the direct vicinity of the property. Thanks for a great stay!
