The Space:
The spacious living area features a stunning fireplace with teal coloured tiles and a vintage style mirror above. There is a leather corner sofa in chocolate brown which is complimented perfectly with a tan leather bucket style chair. The ideal place for relaxing, switch on the TV to catch up on your favourite shows on SKY or settle down with a good book.
Light streams in from the huge windows which face out onto the promenade. Long curtains frame it perfectly and if you lay on the blue and white striped sofa, you can gaze up at the high ceiling where the mezzanine floor floats above.
To the right, you’ll find the dining area and kitchen. With a large traditional dining table and seating for up to 5, this space is ideal for entertaining. With an open plan feel, you can chat from the dining area to the kitchen making it a really sociable space. Perfect for family breakfasts or evening meals with friends, this is a great place within the apartment for spending time with loved ones.
The kitchen is quirky and fun. The light blue kitchen cabinets have a vintage feel and work perfectly with the oxblood coloured oven and matching appliances. There is a super retro splashback in-keeping with the style of the room. The kitchen is also practical as well as stylish, as it is fully equipped with a hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
Head upstairs and you’ll find two en suite bedrooms. The first bedroom overlooks the living room below and has lovely views from the tall window facing out onto the promenade. Featuring a comfy King size bed and ample storage space, this room is perfect for staycations. You’ll also notice quirky accessories such as the statement print above the bed and traditional hats on the wall. The en suite boasts a spacious walk in shower, WC and basin.
With two comfortable single beds, the second bedroom is perfect for children and teenagers. The space features plenty of natural light from the four large windows and a corner sofa so you can look out at the views. There is a seaside feel to the room as bunting hangs on the walls and there are pops of colour found in the soft furnishings. The room is complete with a vintage style dresser and a summer hat mounted above. The en suite has a basin, WC and unique bathtub.
There is also a separate WC found on the ground floor.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full apartment. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
The Neighborhood:
Set on the West side of Whitby, Sunset View is located on the promenade so you can expect a fabulous central location. Just a short walk 10-minute walk along the promenade will bring you to the town centre.
Head to Pier Road and you’ll find cosy pubs, fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants. Continue along the lively road until you reach the beautiful, blue flag West Cliff Beach which is lined with idyllic beach huts. At the other end of Pier Road, you’ll notice the swing bridge which sits over the River Esk.
Over the bridge, you’ll find yourself on the East bank which is full of narrow medieval streets dotted with boutiques, pubs and fish restaurants. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.
Step outside of Whitby and you’ll uncover a haven of woodland and moorland. Whitby forms part of the North York Moors National Park so it’s the perfect place for long walks.
Getting Around:
The centre of Whitby is a short ten-minute walk from Sunset View.
Whitby train station is less than half a mile away so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail. There’s also a taxi rank in close proximity to the train station.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Whitby. Hop on the X4 and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes. The X93 travels along the coast to Scarborough. The 95 route features plenty of quaint villages, such as Grosmont and Lealholm.
