Perfect spot for a last-minute midweek getaway to a lovely gateway to the SNP. The pup and I were both comfortable, we loved strolling into downtown Crozet for coffee and a bite before heading out to spend the days on the trails. The only issue I had was met with an immediate phone call and fix from the owner. The cottage is perfect and so thoughtfully restored and decorated. Hope to stay here again!
This is our second time staying here and it just gets better. Location is great, property is well maintained and hosts are welcoming. Looking forward to our next visit.
I am a dental educator and needed a place to stay by one of our offices. It was very beautiful and safe and I will for sure come back when I have to teach in the area again.
This carriage house is perfect for a couple looking for a quiet getaway close to everything you need. The owners are very hospitable and the neighborhood is friendly. We will want to stay here again the next time we are in the area!
This was perfect for our weekend getaway! The location was so convenient and we loved walking into town for breakfast. The place is cozy and well appointed with stylish decor. We made good use of the balcony. The hosts were friendly and helpful.
Nice place, clean, well-designed, generally quiet (it’s a residential neighborhood, so there were some kids playing outside one morning). Overall I lovely place to stay!
Such a gorgeous cottage! It is quiet and private and yet still walking distance to great coffee and dining. Many thanks for sharing your beautiful property.

Weekend getaway with my girlfriend. Only about 30 minutes from SNP and tons of hiking, 30 minutes from Charlottesville. Wonderful deck, perfect place for a weekend trip.

Wonderful to have you, David! We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves!
Situated w/in a nice neighborhood, this was the getaway I needed. The space is perfect for one or two people and the proximity to multiple wineries, breweries (cider also), and hiking opportunities is superb. It was quiet and I felt extremely safe. Would definitely stay here again when exploring the surrounding areas.
The carriage house was in a great location and offered wonderful privacy. The decor was lovely with beautiful barn wood and soothing colors. Owners were very responsive and helpful.
We enjoyed a relaxing few days staying in this adorable cottage. The location was central to all the attractions that drew us ~ apple picking, wineries and even a couple of breweries. The fireplace was warm and inviting after enjoying evening time on the deck. We would definitely return!
We really enjoyed this perfectly decorated, private apartment getaway. Walking distance to coffee shops and downtown, close to the park for a hike. Short drive to all of the wineries and breweries this area has to offer! We will be back!
We were extremely happy with our choice to stay here. The listing was accurate and did not disappoint. Easy to find and location is convenient to attractions in Crozet and about 10 minutes from the interstate. Hopefully you get experience the patio during your stay. Great views for coffee with the sunrise or a night cap with the sunset.
If you can do a set of stairs this is a great apartment in a older neighborhood. It has many decorations that showed the owner is creative, so it was fun to check them out. Way better than a hotel room and convenient if you want to stay in Crozet.
The place was beautiful & we had a lot of fun! We had nights that we just stayed in and enjoyed the place. It’s located in downtown Crozet - so close to pizza, bbq, and ice cream. 10-15 min drive to skyline drive. As someone that used to live in Crozet myself, I was very impressed by the location. Thank you for having us! The host was super sweet!
The carriage house is nestled away in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the cute town of Crozet. Everything was stylish, clean, and spacious. The location is perfect for visiting Shenandoah National Park and local vineyards. We brought our dog and I think the one thing to note is that the yard is not part of the rental so we walked him around the neighborhood. Overall really nice stay and recommend for anyone coming to explore the Crozet/Charlottesville area!
We came to celebrate New Years Eve and wanted somewhere in the middle of our snow tubing and downtown fun in Charlottesville !! This cottage was perfect!!! Clean, cozy farmhouse. The hosts were fantastic too!! They were quick to answer any questions and very informative about the area. Blessings till next time!!!!
Beautiful experience from the get-go. Host was attentive and friendly. Location was clean and spacious. Amenities were as described and much of the information we needed was found in the binder as well as many fun things to do, which we definitely enjoyed the hiking trails. We will return in the future! Thank you so much!
My spouse, my puppy, and I visited Virginia for a hiking weekend in Shenandoah National Park. The cottage house is exactly how it looks in the pictures. Everything was clean, showers water pressure was great and the AC was perfectly chill for the hot summer months. There are great views of the mountains from a short walk down the residential street. I would recommend for anyone wanting to relax after a long hike.
A few areas for improvement: The vacuum provided was not prepared for a dog that sheds as much as ours; the refrigerator still had food left over from a previous tenant; the house was listed as a different address than what we were given in arrival instructions so it should be updated; the parking was confusing for this reason, it would be great to have lot lines to dictate where to park.
I would recommend this place to all staying in the area - it’s a show stopper.

Thank you so much for your kind words and the feedback. The fire department requires a different number on the carriage house to distinguish it in case of emergency, hence, the number on the mailbox that you navigate to is different than the numbers on the wall of your stairwell, and we will be sure to explain that to future guests, thank you! Apologies about the milk, I thought it might be useful for enjoying your coffee. Thanks for leaving the space so clean on departure and safe travels!
This is a very peaceful place with a wonderful interior and lovely bathroom. The bed slept very well and we were comfortable the whole time. The owners have cleverly located essentials like a shelf above the tub, and book holders on either side of the bed. We really enjoyed the ambiance of the electric "fireplace" in the living room and the complimentary bath salts! However, more attention needs to be given to overall cleanliness--there was a yucky used paper towel in the kitchen sink when we arrived, dog food on the floor, and unwashed kitchen towels in the washing machine. The bathroom sink does not drain well. And while there is an electric tea kettle for those of us who are tea drinkers, be sure to bring your own tea bags because there was not a black or herbal tea bag to be found, only a couple of green (while there were several kinds of coffee pods, which my husband appreciated). Mini Moos or a real creamer option would be a big plus too. The welcoming guestbook lists local eateries and things to do (including a cute Sat AM farmers market in Crozet) and clearly lays out the house rules (be warned that you will be asked to sweep up after your dog, start the laundry, and remove all trash before you leave). Still we would very likely stay here again if we are ever in the area because it so private, quiet, stylish and convenient.

Bethany we are very sorry about the items we missed and will make sure to be more careful and provide more stuff!
The space was clean, the hosts were extremely friendly, and we were steps away from local parks, restaurants, and very close to the South Entrance of Shenandoah National Park. Fantastic all around!
Crozet is between the mountains and Charlottesville, a cute town with excellent pizza and a great coffee shop. The carriage house apartment is well provisioned with a wonderful view from the upper porch. It's easy walking distance to all Crozet shops. There's no TV, but we didn't miss it. I will book again if I get back to Crozet.

About the host
Hosted by Atieno Bird
We moved from NE DC in 2016 to be close to the mountains, extended family, and a greener, calmer lifestyle. We work in real estate and consulting (executive coaching and facilitation) and run the Crozet Trolley Co., providing visitors a fun way to enjoy Albemarle's agritourism destinations.
Why they chose this property
Our family of four loves living in Crozet, so close to the Blue ridge and full of friendly people, and with dozens of agritourism destinations within twenty minutes drive. This property is walking distance from cafes and restaurants but feels secluded. It's also one of the few historic properties in town.
What makes this property unique
The combination of walkability and space/privacy/safety/nature is hard to find. Many properties provide one or the other but not both. It's also rare to find a charming older property, especially one that is so well renovated. If the beauty of your space matters to your vacation experience, this is a find.
