Unique Cypress cottage, close to Charlottesville with mountain views.
About this space Welcome to The Ivy Rose Tea House in the heart of Ivy, located just 15 minutes to Charlottesville, Crozet and Route 151 (also known as Brewery Trail). This is a unique property located on 3 acres right along Route 250. The wrap around covered deck on 3 sides offer privacy, views and a relaxing place to enjoy a meal outside or morning coffee. This character rich home was built for the guest who wants a cozy experience in the country. Fully equipped kitchen. We would love to welcome you!
The space We are new to being short term hosts but we used to run a bed and breakfast business a long time ago. My husband built The Ivy Rose Tea Hose as a contractor and we have had many people stay there for years long term. We are now happy to introduce the house for others to stay short term. The property is very private and perched on a hill above 250 and the pastures across the street. We live about 300 meters away so are on hand but would like to ensure your privacy and a pleasant stay. The kitchen is fully equipped. Towels, linens, bathroom toiletries, etc... everything is provided for a comfortable stay. Just bring you, your loved ones and your bags!
Guest access The entire yard around The Ivy Rose Tea House is yours to use and roam. It has it's own private driveway to come and go as you please. Please do not drive past the house on the driveway as that connects to our personal property.
Other things to note* *The railroad tracks are located right by the property. The train comes thru sometimes during the day and sometimes during the night. We love the train but it may not suite every guest. Please make sure you are okay with hearing a train come by the house before booking!
Toddler crib and high chair provided. Please bring your own crib sheet.

Charming cottages (both the Tea House & Ivy Rose) on a lovely property with great location. Mary is a kind and accommodating host! The cottages are unique & rich with character. Access to the Tea House does involve a handful of gracefully landscaped steps down to it’s private outdoor porches. A great spot for coffee in the morning! Will return.
The cabin was amazing, we will definitely be back. Check in was easy, and the cabin had everything we needed. It was spacious and beautifully constructed.
Fantastic getaway with our kids (10 and 6). The house was so cozy and felt like such a home. Well equipped and hosts were so lovely! We enjoyed walking around Charlottesville, doing hikes and sitting by the fire and reading! Beds were very comfortable and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend! An amazing escape from busy life!
The cabin was beautiful and a perfect place for us to relax. The location was phenomenal and closely located to Shenandoah and many amazing towns to explore.
Perfect location for winery, golf, dining and shopping in the Crozet and Charlottesville area. I would definitely recommend and consider staying here again.

We had a great stay! My only comment would be that it would be nice to have blackout curtains in the bedrooms. But otherwise, this was a beautiful, clean home!
This place was clean, quiet ( besides the occasional train which we personally enjoyed) and the hosts went above and beyond to accommodate us. We would stay here again!
We stayed here two nights and got to wander around Charlottesville. It was fantastic. Clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The kitchen was so great to cook dinner in. We will be back for sure!
Perfect in every way. A rare instance where it was even better than the pictures (and those are pretty nice!). Great attention to detail, the check-in directions were very clear, and the place was lovely. Didn't feel like a rental at all. Will definitely be back

Disliked: Location
Hard to find cottage, pictures misleading, located between a Us Hwy ( Rt 250) and a operating raikroad track Owner should label light switches, some are hidden. Also, put some gravel around homemade firepit. Could be a fire hazard surrounding firepit with leaves, etc. We enjoyed the cottage, just some friendly suggestions
Such a cozy home in a great location! I highly recommend!

We have lived in Charlottesville for over 40 years and raised our family here. I am a florist and a potter. We own and operate The Barnswallow Artisan gallery on our property. Please come shop at it during your stay. My husband, Byron is a carpenter and built all of the homes on our 7 acres. We live just down the driveway a little further so we are on hand should our guests need us. We look forward to sharing our little slice of heaven with visitors.
