Awesome rental
We had the most wonderful time -- the house is perfectly located, beautifully finished, and so comfortable. We especially loved the roof access. Nicole and her husband were incredibly kind and helpful. We can't wait to come back.

Dear Samantha, thank you very much for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay so much. You are wonderful guests and we look forward to host you soon again.
Was here for about a month, great experience, five stars in almost all categories. The one downside of the location is that noise from nearby traffic can at times is not insignificant.

Thank you Stefan for your review. It was a pleasure hosting you.
Perfect for exploring zona colonial. blocks from live music (313 Mercedes, Grupo Bonye), museums, markets. nicely furnished, beautifully decorated and well equipped. Electricity included. beautiful roof terrace for evenings outdoors. good communication with owners via whatsapp.
note that secured parking is about a 10 minute walk. we didn’t have a problem with parking on the street though.
Great looking apartment! A ton of space, in addition to a private roof top. Guests were very impressed.
Kitchen has everything you need. Cleaning lady is available when needed. Check it was a breeze.
AC is ice cold, internet was great, as i worked remote with my team in Milwaukee.
I will be back and make this my go place each visit.
Only minor things is the shower gets scalding hot...may need to adjust the water heater

Thank you Danny for this wonderful review. It was a pleasure hosting you and we hope to welcome you back very soon.
We, a family of 4 (kids age 4 and 6) had a two-part stay in this property. We all loved it. We wish we could have enjoyed the rooftop area more, but we found the stair a bit unsafe for an active 4 year old like ours. Although nothing happened to our rented car, we wished parking on the street was safer in Santo Domingo or to have safe parking closer to the property. We decided to use Uber in the second part of our stay to avoid the stress of feeling the rented car could be robbed or damaged overnight. We enjoyed the convenience of being able walk to restaurants and to the supermarket. Nicole is a great host, responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi Melvin, thank you for your review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. We normally do not mention the stairs because they are visible on the pictures, but we will for future guests with small children. Concerning the parking, this is a general situation of the whole colonial zone. Unfortunately for now the closest parking is 5 to 7 minutes walking distance away. We always mention that to our guests who rent a car. We agree that the most comfortable solution in town is Uber. We will emphasize this point more in the future.

Lovely stay in the Colonial Zone!
The Charming Cozy House was 1 of 3 places we stayed in our whirl-wind trip of The Dominican Republic. It was by far our favorite!
Nicole and her husband were great hosts. They thought of all the little welcoming touches: a chilled bottle of bubbly wine, snacks, bottled water and some coffee pods. Their guide to the colonial zone was so helpful in finding places to eat and things to do. They were also very responsive. The first night we couldn’t get the a/c to work in our room (I think it was user error in our part). Nicole’s husband stopped by right away the next day to check on it.
The house itself is awesome! Once we got there, we were able to walk everywhere. The street it was on did have daytime traffic (those scooters go flying by!), but things quieted down at night and the shutters worked well in muffling the noises.
One thing we learned quickly is that it is cheaper to use pesos rather than credit cards. In the US we rarely carry cash, but many of the smaller more quaint cafes only take cash, and even at the larger places there is an added cost for using a card.
If you go, I highly recommend dinner on the indoor patio at Buche Perico. The food was wonderful and the setting was awesome with the lighting, all the hanging plants and the waterfall.
We were only able to spend 2 days at the Charming Cozy House. We would love to return and spend more time exploring Santo Domingo and the surrounding area. We wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else!

Dear Kristi, Thank you so much for taking your time in reviewing our Corner House. Happy guests is our best reward. It was wonderful having you and your family and it would be a pleasure to host you soon again!
The Corner House definitely lived up to its pictures and description. Such an amazing open space in a very convenient and safe location. From the high ceilings which lends to a lot of light to the fantastic roof top we had a great time here.
Nicole was amazing from the moment I booked w/ very quick replies, first on the VRBO site then to What's App, and went above and beyond to make sure my arrival, stay, and departure were going well. She even helped me locate my phone, which I left behind, and made sure it got shipped back to me in the States (life saver).
If you're looking for a great spot in the Colonial Zone w/ host support that is top notch...it will be hard to find anywhere better than the Corner House.

Beautiful home in Zona Colonial
The house was absolutely beautiful. We felt like we were living in luxury during our stay. We spent lots of time on the roof deck. The hosts were very quick to respond to questions and gave us a list of things we should do during our time in Santo Domingo. We will stay here again if we’re back in Santo Domingo.

About the host
Hosted by Nicole Glur
We are a Swiss Dominican family with 5 children. We are totally in love with this small and unique old town. We live there ourselves and fixed this second house for travelers all around the world.
Why they chose this property
It was love at first sight! We were looking for a house for quite some time. The former owner left the country and decided to sell. We didn't have to think twice.
What makes this property unique
There are many nice houses in the old town of Santo Domingo, but it's not so easy to find a corner house which are typical for being very bright and airy.
