The four of us had a wonderful stay; the area was very quiet and ideal for relaxing. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and functionally furnished. The pool was cleaned daily and was lovely for cooling off. If we are ever in the area again, we would stay here. Thank you for the lovely time.

We had a terrific stay at this Gite. The pool was large, warm and extremely clean. The property is also clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped (small things such as hand soap, loo rolls etc all provided). The kitchen was also large and well equipped. Chris and Lizzie were discrete but very helpful. A generous welcome pack was provided including wine, jam, butter, biscuits, and eggs from the chickens- really helped after a long drive down. Can’t recommend highly enough.

My husband, grown up daughter and I enjoyed a tranquil and relaxing holiday in this lovely gite. While the owners were nearby we were given our privacy to enjoy the pool and private garden. Local town was nearby for shopping essentials and we found a couple of excellent restaurants- though the weather was so hot we enjoyed eating outside in the garden and evening shade. Every morning Christopher the owner, came to clean the pool as we were next door to farm land, this left the pool free to enjoy for the rest of the day. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and the living room had 2 comfortable settees, very welcome at the end of the day.

Another lovely stay

We spent a wonderful three weeks here. The weather was amazing, almost too hot sometimes!We spent our mornings cycling around the quiet roads and returned early afternoon to enjoy the beautiful garden and sparkling pool.Many thanks Lizzie and Chris.

Great gite, cosy clean and functional

Chis and Lizzy will make you feel at home it their lovely little gite. The place is great, the outside space is very nice and quiet and the pool is famtastic. The grocwry store at 1 mile away is a plus.

Lovely Relaxed Week

The property is immaculately clean and welcoming, the pool attached is very well maintained, and cleaned on a daily basis by the owners. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and make the whole experience just perfect. For anyone looking at this review with a view to booking - don't hesitate just book!

Another fantastic stay!

We stayed, for the second time, for 2 weeks in August. The weather was lovely so we made good use of the pool which, along with the gite, was perfectly clean and really well equipped. Chris and Lizzie were the perfect hosts again. Thank you both.

Excellent Rural Retreat

A comfortable, well equipped and beautifully maintained gite. Ideal for a great relaxing stay. Thanks to the host's meticulous care the pool was always clean and inviting. There was a warm welcome from the hosts who provided an excellent welcome pack and an informative information guide. Would highly recommend.

Was a lovely place to stay. Close to town. Good location for visiting the various towns and sites. Lizzie and Chris most welcoming, a lovely couple, the gîte was very comfortable and had a nice ambiance. Loved the pool, a real bonus. Thanks Lizzie and Chris we look forward to coming again.

Relaxing two weeks in Lussac- Les- Eglise

The property is exactly as described very neat clean and tidy. The pool is very large and kept clean every day and was always heated. The location is very quiet and the owners Chris and Lizzie live close by and were always on hand if we needed anything.. It was a lovely stay thank you. Regards Paul and Niicky

A lovely Gite in the Limousin

A well equipped Gite with a good sized heated pool. Facilities were spotless when we arrived and the owners Chris and Lizzie, who lived next door, both respected our privacy whilst also being there to help when needed. Lots of opportunities to see wildlife locally.

Home from home

As always the welcome from the owners was 2nd to none, the Gite beautiful clean fresh and so homely. The property is in a quiet location, but surrounded by lovely towns and every day we were able to find somewhere new to see. Chris and Lizzie are more than helpful, they are there when you want and need them yet allowing you the privacy to enjoy your holiday uninterrupted. I cannot wait to book again!

Perfect holiday Gite & perfect hosts!

We stayed for 2 weeks in June24 and after many holidays in France, we thought La Maladrerie was by far the cleanest, quietest and best equipped...and the pool is glorious. The welcome pack and fresh eggs from 'the girls' were superb. Lizzie and Chris have a little piece of French paradise and love to share it with people. We would not hesitate to come back!

Lovely gite with a fab pool!

Our family (2 adults and 2 children aged 7 & 11) had a great stay at this lovely gite. Lizzie and Chris were excellent hosts and communication ahead of our visit was superb. The gite was very clean, fully equipped with everything we needed and the pool was fantastic. The children spent most of the week playing in it. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing, rural getaway. Thanks so much Lizzie and Chris.

Peace and Quiet

This gite is lovely and clean, with the addition of modern furniture. The pool is a very good size and kept at a lovely temperature. We had a lovely peaceful two weeks, with plenty of walks from the door and visits to some attractive villages, especially Le Dorat and Montmorillon. Lizzie and Chris were available when needed and very helpful and friendly.

Excellent Gite

We enjoyed a lovely two weeks at gite, the weather was glorious the whole time and the pool was a real bonus, it was beautifully clean and the water was crystal clear. The gite had everything we needed and more, it really was home from home. We went out and about most days exploring the area, Oradour, Montmorillon and Montrol-Senard were just a few of our favourites. Chris and Lizzie were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much of a problem and they made us feel very welcome.

Wonderful three weeks

We loved everything about this cottage. The interior was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The garden was beautiful and so peaceful. The swimming pool was gorgeous and sparkling clean. Chris and Lizzie were superb hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We spent most days cycling on beautifully quiet roads, exploring the countryside and small villages around. In the afternoon, we lounged by the pool and swam. Just perfect. We would highly recommend and we hope to return.

Absolutly top location

This gite is located on a small road just outside the village and was built in the style of the typical natural stone of the region. The interior is a testament to the hospitality of Lizzie and Chris. They have really thought of everything. The area is very suitable for those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers! Around the house is a beautifully landscaped garden with lawn, direct access to the private swimming pool that is only accessible to the tenants of the house. We had a wonderful holiday here and would like to thank Lizzie and Chris again for their hospitality.

We had an excellent stay at La Maladrerie. The gite is beautifully renovated and was very clean when we arrived. Lizzie and Chris make you feel right at home with a welcome package and welcoming words. The pool is cleaned daily and is therefore the perfect place to be on sunny days. The neighbourhood is very quiet, surrounded with beautiful little towns. The only downside was that for a decent store, you need to drive for at least 15 minutes by car. Overall we had a lovely vacation and would highly recommend!

Wonderful hosts and gite.

Walking in to this property was a breath of fresh air, it was beautiful and tastefully decorated and perfectly clean and fresh. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept extremely well here, the owners were always on hand no matter what they are a lovely friendly helpful and kind couple that went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. The water in the pool is crystal clear and remains a constant comfortable temperature, it is cleaned and tested daily. The gite is located near a small village, but within driving distance to many other beautiful villages. It is a very peaceful location and if you are looking for a holiday where you feel comfortable and welcome, relaxed and have privacy. I cannot recommend this gite enough.

2nd Visit - tres bon

Our 2nd stay at La Maladrerie and looking to book 3rd visit! Gite is comfortable and clean inside and out. Enjoyed the garden and the private pool. If you want some hwre that gives you peace and quiet with lots of space. This is the place to book. Owners live on site yet give you privacy making you feel at home. Lussac Les Eglises is a little town with some shops and a bar. 10 mins down the road is Magnac Laval which offers supermarket options and bars/restaurants two of which are British owned. The Haute Vienne has plenty to offer whatever you want from a holiday all within an hour or so of the gite.

Lovely gite/cottage in lovely rural location

Thank you to Chris and Lizzie for our stay in their gite. We had a lovely time relaxing, playing, walking the fields and taking small day trips. Everything was as described and the pool was a lovely warm 28 degrees - we had a thermometer with us so we can vouch for that! The gite is lovely and just recently renovated so the beds and furniture were all new. The space is great with three single beds in one room and a lovely double in the other room. The lounge is a good size and the outdoor space is good too. Big enough to play ball games and throw a Frisbee. Thank you.

Tranquility

A 3rd stay at La Maladrerie for us. The gite was clean and comfortable. Lizzie and Chris live on site and are very friendly and helpful whilst also allowing you privacy to enjoy your holiday. The pool is cleaned daily and is heated which helped us during an unusual cold May half term break. This being our 3rd stay we did find that the ever growing conifer hedge did impinge on light into the kitchen and could benefit from a radical trim. We also think that some screening could be placed between the gite and the barn to allow greater privacy when using the pool area. That said the gite is in a tranquil setting and we enjoyed garden time listening to the birds and watching the moles in the garden and the deer in the surrounding fields. Thank you for the welcoming package and the eggs from your hens.
