About this property

Downtown Beaufort- beautifully renovated chapel on edge of Historic District!

Step inside our beautifully renovated mid-century church, now transformed into a unique vacation retreat. The Chapel on Waight celebrates everything we love about Beaufort—laid back yet sophisticated, central yet tranquil. High ceilings, original pebbled glass windows, and an open-concept design flood the space with natural light, creating an airy, inviting atmosphere.
The house is a very spacious 2-bedroom rental, thoughtfully laid out across 1,600 square feet. Each room offers comfortable plush furnishings, unique architectural details from its chapel origins, and modern conveniences such as high-speed Wi-Fi and a smart TV. The open floor plan seamlessly connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas, making it easy to gather with family and friends, while private nooks and outdoor patios offer quiet escapes for relaxation. Convenience is paramount: the Chapel is just a short 1-mile walk to Beaufort’s historic center and downtown waterfront park, putting you within easy reach of charming cafes, boutique shops, bars and restaurants and scenic riverside strolls. Whether you’re gathering with loved ones or seeking a quiet getaway, our rental offers the comfort, character, and location to make your Beaufort stay truly memorable.
The main area consists of our kitchen, dining area, and living room. This open floor plan is perfect for gathering with family and friends. Whether you’re cooking, dining, watching TV, or simply relaxing, the space invites connection while still feeling spacious. The living area is furnished with plush seating and a 42" LG Smart TV, perfect for movie nights or catching up on your favorite shows. High-speed internet ensures you can stream your subscription channels or tune into most basic networks with ease. Large windows welcome natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the day.
Guests will find a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and countertops, a coffee and tea bar, a wide range of essential cookware, utensils, dishwasher, a toaster, blender, and microwave... everything you need to prepare meals at home. The dining area easily accommodates up to six guests. Nearby, the counter-level bar offers two sleek stools, making it a cozy spot for morning coffee or casual meals. We’ve designed every corner of the Chapel to fuse comfort with character. Step outside onto the screened porch—a tranquil spot for morning coffee or winding down in the evening, cooled by gentle breezes and shaded from the sun. The porch connects seamlessly to both bedrooms, making it an ideal retreat for conversation or quiet reading.
The front yard is spacious and includes graveled off-street parking that can accommodate multiple vehicles. We can also accommodate a boat and trailer. Please let us know if you plan to bring one.
Our backyard offers a second private oasis, perfect for grilling, dining al fresco, or relaxing under the stars. String lights illuminate the evenings, setting the scene for memorable gatherings with family and friends.
Step into restful luxury in our thoughtfully designed bedrooms, where every detail has been refreshed for your comfort. The king suite, newly updated with fresh paint and gleaming new floors completed in July 2025, offers a spacious retreat that blends art and tranquility. Original artwork, inspired by the lush flora of the Lowcountry, adorns the walls, creating a serene and sophisticated atmosphere. Drift into deep sleep on a brand-new Leesa Hybrid Sapira Mattress—purchased in August 2025 and consistently ranked #1 by The New York Times and Better Homes and Gardens—dressed in crisp, 100% cotton linens and duvets. The suite also provides a en-suite bathroom and opens directly onto the screened porch, an inviting spot for morning coffee or a quiet evening with a book.
The queen bedroom is equally inviting, featuring high-quality linens and a cozy semi-private sleeping nook with a single bed, separated by a curtain. This versatile space is ideal for families or groups, offering both privacy and intimacy for an additional guest or child. Like the king suite, the queen room includes an en-suite bathroom and direct access to the screened porch—perfect for enjoying Beaufort’s gentle breezes at any time of day.
For extra flexibility, the living room’s plush sofa can be transformed into a single bed; fresh linens are conveniently provided in the cabinet by the TV. The laundry room is located adjacent to the master bathroom. A washer, dryer, laundry supplies, iron, and ironing board are available for guest use.
The Chapel offers a tranquil sanctuary nestled on a tree-lined street in a quiet residential neighborhood, ensuring guests enjoy both serenity and privacy throughout their stay. Step outside and stroll or pedal one of our house bikes from The Chapel into the heart of town, where you’ll pass by grand antebellum mansions gracing the picturesque waterfront of Bay Street. For a change of pace, set out just four blocks in the opposite direction from The Chapel and discover the enchanting Spanish Moss Trail—a rails to trails project that winds through 17 miles of low country scenery - perfect for leisurely walks, invigorating runs, or scenic bike rides beneath the canopy of live oaks. This unique blend of peaceful seclusion and easy access to Beaufort’s vibrant attractions makes The Chapel an ideal retreat for guests seeking comfort and character.
An easy 6-mile drive straight down Ribaut Road brings you directly to the gates of Parris Island—perfect for those attending a Marine Graduation. Our rental is just 17 miles from the beautiful Hunting Island State Park, and we make your beach day hassle-free by providing a complimentary park pass, along with beach chairs, towels, body boards, toys, and an umbrella. Planning to explore further? A scenic one-hour drive south will take you to the heart of downtown Savannah, while heading north for an hour and a half puts you in the vibrant city of Charleston. Thoughtful touches throughout the house include labeled drawers and cabinets, board games for rainy afternoons, and a collection of local guides to help you plan the perfect Lowcountry adventure. We aim to provide more than just a place to sleep—this is a space designed for making lasting memories with those you cherish.
