Overall good value for money in August and a lovely breeze through the patio doors and windows kept us cool in the heatwave!A couple of suggested improvements; a clothes horse to dry clothes on would be useful and new or restored garden furniture. To be aware of, the houses are very close together so when outside there is no privacy and in the Summer when everyone has their windows open you can hear all noise from surrounding houses. We only suffered this one night from one of the opposite houses and during the afternoon from very loud children outside 2 houses down though.A car is an absolute must as there is no path on the road outside the entrance to the holiday park so you cannot go for a walk straight from the house. Great base for exploring the beautiful surrounding area - Tavistock and it's canal walk is beautiful.
The location was great as it was close to everything we wanted. The property was brilliant! So well laid out and spacious. The only thing id fault is it smelt of wet dog, I assume the folks who had the place before us had a dog in there as it is a pet friendly place, it took a trip to the shops plenty of fabreese and it was fine.Bev (The owner) was lovely to deal with.We will be back! But maybe in a none pet friendly place haha

All of our holiday homes are pet friendly and sorry that the guest felt it smelt of wet dog on arrival . The housekeeping team does there best to get rid of unpleasant smells, but sometimes it takes longer to
get rid of some smells then others before the next guest arrive.
Brilliant couldn't if asked for more. Even in storm Eunice !! we felt safe warm and comfortable with plenty of room in property .

Okay
This is a nice lodge in a perfect location but not the best sadly. It states that the swimming pool is not available. We weren't sure of the reason but turns out it's because the owner of the lodge doesn't wish to pay the subscription to the holiday village for the facilities. My daughter was very upset when she saw all other families going swimming and we couldn't. I offered to pay extra but was refused. The outside pool is right by the pub so couldnt avoid it. We were aware to begin with but I didn't realise how difficult it would be to deal with
There is a decking area but it was dirty and we didn't want to sit out there. (Previously used ash tray left out and we don't smoke).
We bought some camping chairs to use outside.
Considering how much the cleaning fee is, it was a shock how much we had to do before leaving, strip the beds and empty all bins (waste paper baskets etc). I always leave a place clean but following a child around to make sure that she didn't put a tissue in an emptied bin for fear of being charged an extra £10 per bin (£15 for not stripping a bed)) did put extra stress on us.
The owner was very nice and responded to my message to say that the clothes airer was missing. I get the impression that there is a housekeeper who looks after the place but has sadly let the owner down.
Overall it was a nice stay in a nice location but
We won't be returning.
Lovely place to stay with friends and two 8 year olds. Play area and swimming pool was fab and close to fab walks in dartmoor. Bev was really quick to respond and we were able to access early as we had turned up very early.
Excellent communication with Bev she answered all of my silly questions quickly and politely. Clean tidy very easy place to stay with lots of fun things to do nearby.
