Amazing place

We loved the setting and location of this home. Truely iconic for the coast of Portugal. Hard to leave the patio, but if you do the hiking, sites, and restaurants can not be beat.

Amazing property and amazing host

Casa do Mar was one of my fav places no only the place / location ,but Manuel was amazing in give us suggestions point activities and suggest restaurants His place is beautiful with one of the most breathtaking views surrounding by amazing beaches and history I cant wait to be back and keep exploring more around there Cecilia Abegg

Cecilia and her family are always welcome to cabana do mar. They are guests who are looking to enjoy the local life, the house and its surroundings. Communication was very easy, they asked for tips and suggestions and everything worked just fine. On a private message I wrote her: "Thank you so much for leaving the house like you received it, it really amazes me when clients are so well educated and civilized and makes me believe you have enjoyed the house like if it was yours for a few days!! Cabana do Mar doors will always be open for you and your family!"

Fantastic!

We had a wonderful time. The star of the house is the clifftop patio, complete with hot tub, where you can enjoy the stunning views of the ocean. The home itself is simple but lovely with fireplaces and a fully equipped kitchen. There are at least two amazing restaurants within walking distance and a market for stocking up on staples. The house is a perfectly located for exploring Sintra, the beaches of Cascais, or heading into Lisbon for the day either via train or Uber.

Portuguese Paradise

Azenhas Do Mar house is breathtakingly beautiful. I can not recommend this stay enough. The view itself is something you can sit and watch for days and not get enough. We left with a need to find desire to but something nearby in order to stay forever. Manuel is an amazing host and very concerned that all was in order for us to have a enjoyable stay. Plenty of space for a family, grocery, and dining out close by. Lisbon only about half an hour away, however once here you will have no desire to leave. Thanks Manuel, hope to be your neighbor someday;)

Azenhas do Mar in August

My family of 4 spent 3 fantastic days at Manuel's place in August 2022. Manuel was the consumate host and made check in easy, fun, and charming. His home exudes character and and warmth, and the views from the deck can only be described as spectacular. Its an older home that has been loved and kept up very well, its not a home with all the excess & conveniences of modern and high tech appliances...but we loved our stay at Cabana Do Mar and feel lucky that we experienced those views at least once in our life times. Enjoy!

Do not use this villa

Major issues here. 1. Smells from plumbing longstanding - toilets and showers don't clear properly creating horrible smell throughout house. Water in the shower does not drain, stand in water around ankles. Cant use downstairs loo to sit. 2. Water ingress you are constantly cleaning up water from back door and en-suite. 3. Electrics dodgy, hairdryer sizzles. 4. BBQ unusable health hazard. 5. Beds like boards. 6. Cooker rusty. 7. Hot tub old and not working properly. 8. No logs for fire (couldnt get locally). 9. Broken kitchen waste bin 10. everything old and chipped. etc etc. My wife wanted to leave after a few days. Owner abroad and not managing property. Owner now refusing to discuss shortcomings of property. I am requesting a full refund from Vrbo as they have mis-sold the property, do they not inspect what they put on their web site? Advertising pictures are old. Our visit was to be a special holiday for our 35th wedding anniversary, it is one we will remember for the wrong reasons. Do not go near this property.

This is a hate commentary from a very suspicious guest who was questioned many times if everything was ok, replied "yes everything good" and never complained about anything during his stay. Only after his stay he send a mail where he complains that he did not enjoy his visit and demands a compensation. His hate commentary is a retaliation for not being compensated by me or the platform. Who would refuse to pass his passport details to report to the Portuguese Customs has it's mandatory by law? I've heard about this scam but had never experienced it before. Always learning.

Spektakuläre Lage, Haus in die Jahre gekommen

Die Lage des Gebäudes ist nicht zu toppen.Auch der Vermieter, ein in Portugal bekannter Schauspieler, ist ein hilfsbereiter und sympathischer Mann.Allerdings ist die Unterkunft doch sehr in die Jahre gekommen, der ständige Geruch aus 2 Bädern äußerst unangenehm und auch die Einrichtung zeigt deutliche Verschleißspuren - unter diesem Aspekt stimmt hier das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis leider nicht.

Klaus-Peter and his family were great guests, Reading his review now comes as a surprise for me as he did not mention any of these issues and we spoke almost everyday. I wish he had let me know so I had the opportunity to fix any problem. Regarding the furnishing comments, there is a mix between antiques and modern, which I consider part of the charm of the house, and, so far, so have my guests. Anyway I appreciate the feedback as there is always room for improvement. Cabana do mar doors will always be open to Klaus, his family and friends. Danke.

Cabana do Mar

Wir haben eine exzellente Zeit verbracht auf den Klippen in Azenhas do Mar. Wirklich eine einmalige Lage, weit oben über dem Atlantik mit atemberaubender Aussicht aufs Meer und das hübsche Dörfchen. Manel ist ein grossartiger Gastgeber und wir haben die Zeit in vollen Zügen geniessen können. Nochmals herzlichen Dank!

Perfekte Lage oben auf der Steilküste. Stylisches Haus mit rustikalem Charme. 1 h bis Lissabon. Supermarkt nicht allzu weit weg. Jeden Abend wunderbarer Sonnenuntergang...Gut ausgestattete Küche und bequeme Betten. Mehrere Badezimmer. Sehr netter Vermieter, der an einem angenehmen Aufenthalt interessiert und immer erreichbar ist. Perfekt!
