Quiet, relaxing place with great front and back porches
We stayed here while visiting family on Russell Island. Very conveniently located to the ferry, and a nice quiet place to come back to each evening. Both the front and back porches are great to sit on an enjoy the quiet surroundings. Clean and new inside, and the owner is right next door to help with anything. Would happily go back.

Tim and Kathy were a pleasure to have as guests. Friendly, happy travelers who left the place super clean. We enjoyed meeting them and would highly recommend them to any property owner. It genuinely makes us happy to know that our guests are enjoying the place as much as we do. Thanks for booking with us! Please consider us again in the future!
This is our 3rd time renting from Carrie and Jeff and it gets better every time. Its obvious a lot of thought and work is put into the house. Its a great place for us to rent to visit family in the area, and also to come back to afterward to enjoy the peace and quiet on the front porch. Would definitely rent again.
We are Michigan natives now retired and living in FL. After 5 summers there we deciced to take a 2 month break from the FL heat in Michigan. The property is nice, simple, well maintained and the weather was perfect.
Great trip. The house owners Carrie and
Jeff are wonderful people. The house is extremely clean. Plenty of parking for 21 ft bass boats, short distance from house to 2-boat ramps. Jeff even supplied the frying equipment and propane for our outdoor fish fry. We supplied the fish!

Thank you Archie and guests for everything! The fish was great, the company was excellent, and a big ole thank you for taking such good care of the place! Please stay again!
I was met upon arrival and presented with a dozen fresh eggs from the chickens in the yard. The property is full of large well groomed trees with lovely flower beds. The house was clean and spacious. I was there for my granddaughter’s wedding. The kitchen is large and well equipped, we made 180 cupcakes for the wedding. The large clean garage served as a beauty salon for the bridesmaids. We entertained the new in-laws on the comfy front porch furniture, while we enjoyed the evening breeze. Algonac is a beautiful community and Carrie is a top notch host.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication, location
Nice place, problems with landlord living next door.
We stayed 2 months. Property was OK. Frig went bad when we were there but was replaced quickly. Compensation for spoiled food denied so far. Owner hit us with a 9 page document with 36 restrictions, many of which were not in the original listing, 5 days after we took occupancy and demanded we sign or be thrown out. She complained to us that VRBO didn't give enough room for "house rules" ie no frying in the house, house must be left in "ready to rent condition", no use of mailbox, no shoes in the house, no open windows, $25 per night per guest for overnight stays. They did make some changes we requested like moving the great TV they have lower so we didn't get a stiff neck watching it and moving the modern benches and high top table out of the kitchen and a more comfortable conventional table and chairs in from the garage.
I believe that the majority of the problems came from the fact we rented at a rate she wanted to change. . She kept saying we got a $4,400 discount which was not true. We rented at the price she asked. She is going to raise the price a lot but that doesn't mean that is what she is going to get that price. If all the cabinets in the kitchen had doors and the kitchen floor was not scared up tiles and there were not all the restrictions it would be better. The pool that cannot be used right outside the back door and chicken coup and weed infested pond in the back yard would also be improvements that could increase the rental value.
Second stay at this location was just as good as the first. Everything you need, conveniently located, lots of room, well outfitted kitchen, would definitely recommend.
What a great alternative to staying in a nearby hotel - 5 minutes from the boat launch and dairy queen, both of which we used daily. Large beds in each bedroom, very clean place overall. Quiet neighborhood - no issues on any front - owner(s) were very responsive on text - great value, it's a pretty big place - renting again this weekend and am so glad we aren't hoteling it.
Comfortable. That is the best word to describe this house. We stayed for 2 weeks and felt at home on day one. Nothing fancy, nothing new but everything you could need to live, cook and relax. It is close to everything from Anchor Bay to Marine City. We will stay again. Thanks, Jeff and Carrie!
The house is just as pictured. We had a great time staying here while we fished and explored the area. We would stay here again. Thanks so much Jeff & Carrie!
Had a great time fishing close by. Had all the accommodations we needed for our stay. Would stay here again. Thanks!

Thank you for staying. We sincerely love to see folks enjoying the place as much as we did for 20 plus years!
You are wonderful guests! Please stay again in the future!
Prayers and positive thoughts to you and your family at this difficult time.
Thanks again, Carrie & Jeff
Dear Jessie,
I received your package today. i'm seriously typing this thank you with tears in my eyes, because not too many people take time to do such sweet things. Thank you form the bottom of my heart...I love the gifts you sent for the house.
Your suggestions are appreciated, and I intend to act on that asap. We're also excited that the fireplace is being converted to gas for our winter guests!
Should you ever get back this way, you know you have a place here on the mainland. I'll even get another TV for you lol! We'd love for you to stay again, and hopefully under happier circumstances.
Again, sending prayers to your family in this difficult time.
And thank you for your consideration and generosity.
Sincerely, Jeff and Carrie
