Sympathetically restored yet retaining exposed beams and a wood burning stove, this hideaway sits proud within the picturesque village of Preston under Scar, just ten minutes from the popular market town of Leyburn.

Sleeping up to four guests in two delightful en suite bedrooms, this cottage exudes a home from home feel from the moment you enter. The cosy sitting room offers two large comfy sofas, an imposing fireplace with wood burning stove, and original floor boards. The welcoming, refurbished country kitchen will inspire you to cook up a feast to be enjoyed at the oak dining table, or alternatively take your dish outside onto the delightful patio area to listen to the birds whilst dining al fresco. Retiring upstairs in this peaceful cottage invites ultimate relaxation. The master bedroom hosts a super-king size zip-and-link bed that can be configured as two 3'single beds on request, with a king-size bed in bedroom two.

Middehus is perfectly situated for family or friends who want to discover all that rich cultural heritage of North Yorkshire and Wensleydale have to offer. Bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park known for its dark skies and limestone scenery, every day will be one to remember whist staying in this charming cottage.

Two well behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Children and infants welcome.

Stay in Yorkshire

It was OK but I would have liked to have known about the steps.

Thank you for taking the time to review our cottage. We are sorry to hear that you had not seen that there were steps that lead up to the front door, however we do hope the rear entrance which has no steps and offers an alternative access to avoid the steep steps was more adequate. We do try to show all steps and in this case it is also mentioned in the additional information on our website for all our guests to read. We hope that you still enjoyed the Yorkshire Dales in all it's glory and the stunning views from the village.

A beautiful, clean and very well presented cottage.

The cottage was very clean and cosy with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities. A lovely basket of supplies was provided for our arrival and the heating was on for us. The village is quiet and not too far from the main road to Hawes and Leyburn. I would definitely stay here again.
