‘Bay View’ – our holiday home in Newbiggin-By-The-Sea on the seafront with breath taking, uninterrupted sea views from the lounge, two front bedrooms and lawned gardens. Fantastic sunrises and you can hear the waves rolling in along the shoreline. Keep an eye out for the dolphins which are regular visitors to the bay. The beach is accessed via the garden down a few steps to the promenade. The promenade runs right round the bay and is traffic free.
Maximum occupancy is five persons which includes all children. It is best suited to couples and families; we do not accept renters under 25, this is a non-smoking home and we do not allow pets of any type. This is a residential area with full time neighbours and we do not permit parties or hen/stag groups.
We have furnished the house to a high standard with gas central heating and solid oak furniture throughout. The living and dining room is open plan with a free-standing log burner, large smart tv and very comfy seating. There is a six-seater oak dining table in the dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped including a fridge/freezer, electric cooker and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Everything you need for a comfortable break in an idyllic setting.
The master bedroom with a comfy king size oak bed and furniture, has spectacular panoramic sea views from the bay window. Bedroom 2 has a double oak bed and furniture whilst bedroom 3 is a single room with those fabulous sea views. The spacious bathroom with over the bath electric shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Externally there is garage parking to the rear of the property for a small to medium size car or street parking for larger cars, but on street parking is very limited and we are mindful of the neighbours who live there all year round. The lawned gardens and patio seating to the front of the property give you a place to soak up the amazing views and watch the world go by. In the rear of the property is a paved courtyard area with a dining table with seating for four. We have installed external security cameras one overlooking the front garden and one overlooking the courtyard.
Newbiggin-by-the-sea is a quintessential British seaside town in Northumberland with an outstanding beach and promenade. It is a quiet, family town and not for those wanting to party. There are several pubs, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and takeaways all within walking distance from the property. Fish and chips are a must as is the local bakery!
There is a Maritime Centre which boasts a maritime museum to mark the historic importance of the coastal town as a major port, this is located near the lifeboat station at the end of the promenade.
The artist Lowry frequently holidayed in Newbiggin and one of his paintings is on display at the Maritime Centre.
Within easy reach by car or public transport is Newcastle Upon Tyne and the market towns of Morpeth, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Hexham. There are many interesting golf courses nearby the closest being Newbiggin’s Golf Club which is an extremely challenging links / moorland course. Newbiggin is on the Northumberland Coastal Path is a great place for walking and hiking, plus Newbiggin is well located for cycling, paddle boarding, open water swimming, canoeing etc. If all you want to do is chill and read your book we have the spot for you!
A little further up the coast is Amble where you can enjoy pleasure boat rides, fishing trips and browse around the Sunday Market. Other attractions are Bamburgh, Alnwick, Lindisfarne and Warkworth which all have castles as well as Cragside house and gardens and Beamish with the world-famous living museum – all well worth a visit.
Newbiggin is served by regular bus services and the X21 is a service to/from Newcastle. The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport (12 miles) and the railway station is at Morpeth (8 miles) with services to Newcastle, the Metro Centre and beyond to London or north to Edinburgh.
