Lovely lodge, big hot tub, comfortable accommodation
Very much last minute booking, great quick confirmation and communication. Lovely property on a nice holiday park.
Possibly the nicest lodge in the complex.
The onsite pub it a bit odd with their policy of having to pay for drinks and food separately but nice enough place.
Overall location is convenient and we will return. 5 star hosts and property.
Absolutely fabulous, beautiful log cabin spotlessly clean in a lovely park with everything you need. Could not fault in any way, we will be back at first opportunity. Thank you very much.
Booked for a week, 2 adults and 1 child aged 7. The cabin was located at the end of a cul-de-sac with a balcony facing the woodland. The cabin was very spacious with a double bedroom and 1 twin. It had 2 1/2 bathrooms good size kitchen and large living room and dining room area. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for a little break away. The cabin was just a short walk away from the crazy horse bar and grill and a child’s park. If the weather is right there are sun loungers and a large outdoor seating area with large private hot tub. The cabin has a private drive which will easily fit 2 -3 large cars.
Really lovely lodge with a perfect secluded, quite part of the park. Was lovely.I would say however there needs to be some little touches to make it 5*. No teas / coffee / milk / welcome of any kind and no brochure that we could find explaining the area etc. In some drawers there were items that clearly belonged to others and it felt at times like we were in someone’s home. The chair coverings outside were very past their best.Overall, these are little things but I do think a big spring clean and proper cleaning purity would make or even better.I think the
Stayed in June 2024. Spacious living area, good sized bathrooms - note no 3rd toilet as listing suggests. Good sized twin bedroom. Double room smaller, bed could do with a better mattress and was a little creaky. A few cobwebs especially in bathrooms and walls rather dusty. Otherwise clean and tidy. Outside space open so need to keep an eye on any pets. Outside furniture could have done with a wipe over, a little untidy to side of cabin. No paper towels as listed. Apart from these minor issues we enjoyed our stay. Crazy horse bar was not open some days. Great location for visiting the sights.
The first impression of the lodge when we walked in was fantastic! It looked and smelled incredibly clean and welcoming. It felt like we were the first people that had stayed there! Very spacious but also cosy feel to the lodge, especially at night. Massive hot tub which we loved. Lovely outside area in amongst the trees and a really private spot on the campsite. Comfy beds, double bed I think could do with a new mattress. Double futon in living room was huge and very comfy. Modern, well equipped kitchen, nice spacious bathrooms. Describes an extra single toilet on advert but ?? Great entrance area for plenty of coats and shoes.
Only bits I’d change would be to make the back safe and secure for dogs and to add blinds in velux windows in the front room, as when sleeping in there the room is really bright at around 5 in the morning!
Overall a wonderful stay and would definitely come back, such a beautiful lodge!
Amazing lodge, the hot tub was the best after a busy day. The garden furniture and table could have had a wipe, but that's just being picky. All in all a very pleasant place to spend time, could have done the week rather than the weekend, but hey ho.
Lovely place to stay, cosy, privately situated with the beautiful woodland at the back, really couldn't have asked for more. It was truly fabulous and would highly recommend. We will certainly be in touch to go back again. Well spaced out accommodation, perfectly for a family of four. The hot tub was the best and the whole family enjoyed this being so accessible and easy to use, with a lovely setting to view as you relax in the tub. Our Pooch Copper loved it and was able to run around the woodland freely without going too far, and everything was easy access, including the 2 minute walk to the local bar, which served lovely food for the whole family, fab atmosphere, really great service and extensive menu for all too choose from. Fabulous mini break!
It was a fantastic lodge, so warm & cosy with the underfloor heating. The lodge had all the necessary items ie bedding, towels and kitchen equipment required for a great stay. The hot tub was lovely- clean and working well. My criticism would be that I had to wash all glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, pots, pans, crockery, etc before we could use them as they were far from clean. Every drawer and cupboards need a good gut out in my opinion full of clutter & crumbs.Table mats & coasters were covered in food debris. I spent a good part of my break cleaning things make our stay comfortable & clean. The overall cleanliness of this lodge let it down unfortunately! It was not a cheap couple of nights away and the whole experience just lacked the proper finishing touches that could have made this a 5⭐️ Experience.
Thus cabin was absolutely perfect. The photos didn't do it justice. It's so much bigger than the photos shown. My husband and I, and our 3 children felt at home as soon as we walked in. Everything we needed was provided to us. We are already planning on booking again next year, maybe even making it an annual weekend break. Thank you so much Patrick, for letting us stay at your amazing property.
Thoroughly enjoyed our break, the cabin was exactly like it said on the website. spotlessly clean and well equipped. would not hesitate to come back again or recommend to friends and family. the pub on site was a welcome bonus and meals were great and plentiful. It was nice to see accommodation that allows dogs bit is still such of a high standard
Property itself was OK. Unfortunately we had no fridge or freezer for the whole stay and this wasn't rectified the whole stay. There is no shop on site so that was trek to the shops with a car everyday which spoiled the vacation.
We left property the way we found it clean and ready for next person
The photos really do not do justice to how lovely this lodge is, it is very spacious and very well presented, which made our stay all the better, it was a pleasure to spend time in. There was a pub on the site that we visited which was good, also visited the Northumberland Arms in Felton for a meal, which was excellent a real lovely pub. All in all great base for visiting the area, would definitely stay again and recommend.
The lodge is beautiful, very spacious and the under floor heatkng keeps you toasty warm. The lodge is well looked after and reallly clean, the hot tub however needs new filters, they were filthy and the scum discusting, a maintenance man came every morning and topped up the chlorine tablets and gave it a wipe round to clean away the scum but it soon built up again!
We stayed for 4 nights in this fantastic retreat. We had a great time, the cabin is lovely, very spacious and the outdoor area is fantastic. Wifi worked well which is always a bonus when you have kids. Location I thought was good, took about 12 minutes to drive to the beaches on the East coast for long walks with the dog. To our surprise there is a pub on site that serves good food and everyone is welcome. I will certainly keep this place in mind when looking again for a short family break.
Stayed here with my husband and three children aged 13,11 and 2 . Probably the best accommodation we have ever stayed in ... very large and plenty around the area to go and explore ... the added touches with this lodge went a long way ! The welcome pack , movies and Xbox for the kids made it a great break and would definitely recommend... really didn’t want to leave ! Thank you
We had a nice cabin at the end of a cul de sac with decking and a hot tub. Privacy was good with trees around most sides. Very close to A1 road but we were not disturbed dispite being light sleepers. Site is only a thirty minute drive from a lot of interesting towns, villages and castles. Bamburgh Castle is a must.
Exceeded expectations. Met the owner, Patrick on arrival who was very friendly and gave us some good tips on where to visit and where to eat. There were a travel cot and high chair for our 8-month-old Granddaughter, which certainly made things easier. The property was very modern with all of the amenities that you would need for a short break. I'm not normally one for hot tubs, but really enjoyed this one. Especially on the one day that we had some sunshine. I couldn't recommend this highly enough. Like previous comments, we will definitely be going back. Thanks once again Patrick, it was lovely to meet you. Top man.
