A wonderland welcomes you at "Tall Meadow Rue," a beautiful English stone cottage with stained glass windows and upscale decor, nestled in seclusion yet a short stroll from downtown Mentone and all outdoor activities beckoning you in the scenic area surrounding.

The tranquil setting includes a tea house/studio, outdoor chapel, goldfish pond, sculpted European style gardens with exotic plants and iconic figures, stone fire pit, private side porch, and other natural attractions.

Hear the local church bells toll ring on the hour with periodic hymn chimes periodically, plus watch the multi-colored finches and cardinals feed from the spacious side screened porch.

This home and setting could be a perfect mini-retreat getaway, a holistic diversion, an intimate honeymoon, family vacation, women/friends reunion, or the perfect base for area scenic explorations.

Includes free wi-fi, five smart tvs, eco-friendly washer/dryer, wood burning fireplace, gas BBQ grill, bathroom claw foot tub, scenic woodland views,etc.

PLEASE NOTE -- The house sleeps up to eight, and with the new Great Room, comfortably accommodates the maximum guests. We assess additional $25 per person per night extra for those booking beyond four persons.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
*Hand wash pots and pans. Dry and put away. PLEASE RUN DISHWASHER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. *Leave appliances clean. *Turn off lights inside and outside. Close and lock porch door.
* Return all remotes to their respective locations. +* Pet hair, sand, spills are to be removed from house and porch. Brooms, mops, vacuums, cleaning supplies are there for your use.
* Using barbecue grill, please clean the top stainless steel plates. Make sure the gas is off. * Any chairs/furniture that is moved must be returned to their original place. Check is 10 AM sharp.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Renter must submit address and information regarding number of guests who are included in the reservation.

This is a beautiful home and the perfect setting for a Mentone getaway. We loved the property, especially the charming small chapel on the grounds. Hosts were very helpful.

We have stayed here before and love this property! The new addition is beautiful, very comfortable and cozy! We appreciate the fact that they accept pets because our fur baby goes everywhere with us. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!!

This was our third time staying here and a newly constructed Great room has been added to an already beautiful home. This house had everything we could possibly want and both inside and outside have charm and character. The host was outstanding with communication and so helpful anytime I had a question. We hope to return this time next year!

It was a beautiful home and gardens. We enjoyed our working vacation for the week. Internet service was great for remote work, and the kitchen was fully stocked for our needs for the week. Check-in was very smooth and the owners were extremely responsive.

Unique and enjoyable place to stay.

Unique, attractive house located near downtown Mentone. Very well maintained and decorated inside with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We visited at Christmas so many of the outside activities were limited by cold temps but I know they would add to the stay during warmer times.

Beautiful home

Absolutely perfect stay. House is huge and beautiful property; plenty of room for a family or gathering, though it was just me this trip. Close to hiking at DeSoto Falls Park, BrownPark is a nice walk from home… cute little shops in area. I golfed at several courses with 30-40 minutes (Mclemore is gorgeous)… property owner was a great resource for restaurants and area things to do. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Property

You never know for sure if a destination will live up to the pictures posted in VRBO. Tall Meadow Rue is even more beautiful than pictures because pictures can't depict the peace and serenity that's there. Grounds, house, beds, kitchen; all made this a wonderful stay.

What a charming and cozy cottage and property! The home and the setting is like a scene from a storybook. So many lovely amenities like the chapel, the koi pond and audible water feature, the meditation room next to it, the roosters crowing, the church bell ringing, what a special place! It’s very pet friendly and accommodating with even a small fenced area furbabies to go outside. It’s walkable also to restaurants, market, shops, etc. The new great room is very beautiful and the kitchen is very well appointed. Communication was great and very timely with the host. We loved Tall Meadow Rue and think you will too!

My sister and I stayed at Tall Meadow Rue with four of our closest friends to celebrate her 50th. For six busy moms, this was the getaway spot we needed! The house was clean and cozy, the kitchen perfect for preparing meals, and the garden so relaxing!

This place is so inviting, the home and the grounds. New room addition really is a game changer… making a fabulous large space for hanging out surrounded by trees. Loved being on screened porch during rain showers. Loved all outdoor spaces, especially fountain and fish (plus feeding fish daily), chapel, tea house/studio, shade plants, absolutely everything! Can’t wait to return in the fall to enjoy fire-pit and fireplace. This is my 2nd or 3rd stay here and will definitely be back!
