A charming traditional Canarian house with over 150 years of history, evident in its thick stone walls and original wooden floors.<br> Located in the La Calera area, among charming little pedestrian streets, the house overlooks La Playa, the Borbalan area, and the Valle Gran Rey Natural Park, which is just a few minutes away. Undergoing continuous restoration since 2008, it was once a holiday home for the poet Celia Askanova, from whom it takes its name. During its restoration, special care was taken to preserve the original layout and materials, as the house is a prime example of traditional 19th-century Canarian architecture. This is evident in the wooden floors and ceilings and in the typical Canarian kitchen.<br><br><br>The Askanova House has three floors: the Askanova apartment (on the ground floor) and two additional floors.<br><br> The ground floor (Askanova apartment) features a terrace and outdoor furniture, a double bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom, and a kitchen-living room with a 1.60 × 2.00 sofa bed.<br>The rest of the house (first and second floors) includes: two double bedrooms—one with a double bed and one with two single beds—and a small third bedroom (with a sofa bed) accessible from the double bedroom. The house has a bathroom, a living room with a DVD player, Wi-Fi, ASTRA satellite TV, a music system, a reading lamp, board games, etc., and a traditional Canarian kitchen. The upper level of the house features a sun deck equipped with patio furniture and a view of the sea. The house has a washing machine.<br><br>Both kitchens are equipped with a toaster, a kettle, an espresso machine, an electric coffee maker, a stove, a blender... etc.<br><br>Casa Askanova is available for rent in various configurations:<br><br>1–5 people: First and second floors (but if the guest wishes, they may also rent the entire house.)<br><br> For 6 or more people: The entire house (ground floor, first, and second floors)<br><br>If there are 5 or fewer guests, the Askanova apartment may be rented to another guest.<br><br>Casa Askanova is a 5-minute drive from La Calera Beach, a few minutes’ drive from the Valle Gran Rey Nature Reserve, and a 25-minute drive from Garajonay National Park. It is also the ideal starting point for hiking and active tourism.
