The apartment is located in the heart of Ortigia, in the Jewish quarter, just a short walk from the charming Piazza Duomo and the sea. The apartment is self-contained and can accommodate up to 4 people.
The recently renovated apartment features a living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a double sofa bed, one bedroom, and one bathroom; it is equipped with all the amenities: AC, ceiling fan, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and a safe. It blends modern comfort with Sicilian tradition thanks to the local stone that adorns every room, giving the suite a warm atmosphere for a unique stay.
The historic center of Ortigia is a restricted traffic zone (ZTL). Guests can park in designated paid parking areas or just outside Ortigia in free parking zones. I will provide all necessary information before check-in:
The island of Ortigia is a treasure trove of marvelous historic Baroque buildings, magnificent churches, and open-air archaeological sites. Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find the imposing Temple of Athena—now converted into the Cathedral—overlooking the picturesque main square and known for its sumptuous Baroque façade. Continuing on, you’ll discover the ancient Greek ruins of the Temple of Apollo and the Arethusa Spring, a mythological freshwater spring. The island also offers a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and outdoor bars where you can enjoy our traditional dishes and desserts (Sicilian cannoli, almond granita, artisanal gelato), while a picturesque, traditional local market sells freshly caught fish, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and local specialties—providing the perfect opportunity to cook your own meals at home.
Among Syracuse’s attractions are religious celebrations such as the centuries-old festival of Saint Lucy on December 13, as well as organized cultural events like the annual “Rappresentazioni Classiche” festival, staged in May, June, and July by the I.N.D.A. (National Institute of Ancient Drama), as well as the Ortigia Film Festival, the Ares Film Festival (Syracuse International Film Festival), and the Ortigia Jazz Festival.
Ortigia is surrounded by a beautiful sea with well-equipped beaches and sunbathing areas, some of which are free to access.
For those who wish to venture off the island and explore the surrounding coastline, several stunning sandy or rocky beaches can be reached by car or bus (for example, the Plemmirio Nature Reserve, Ognina, Fontane Bianche, and Vendicari, all 15 to 30 minutes away). And by taking the A18 highway, in 30–50 minutes you can reach the most beautiful Baroque towns of eastern Sicily (Noto, Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli, and/or Taormina). You can also go on excursions to Pantalica, the Anapo Valley, the Cavagrande Lakes, Mount Etna, and much more. For all this and much more, Ortigia is the perfect base for a vacation in Sicily.
