About this property

EXPERIENCE HOPE AT THE STAND EASY RETREAT

Our beautiful little "A" Frame is just a few steps from Kawkawa Lake near Hope, BC. It has just been completely renovated; new flooring throughout, fresh paint, and full bathroom reno. We are a short 90 minute drive from Vancouver where one can completely unplug and enjoy the scenery. There is an abundance of outdoor activities to do around the lake such as; swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more. If you have a boat, there are two different boat launches within a kilometer of the cabin.
In the surrounding area there are numerous adventures to take; Hell's Gate (Google it, it is amazing), Manning Park for summer and winter activities, Harrison Hot Springs, downtown Hope (carving capital of Canada), Othello Tunnels (stunning), many many hikes to take, gold panning in historic Yale, BC, and so much more.
The cabin has two bedrooms on the main level, both with queen sized beds and the loft has a queen bed. There is a full kitchen (minus a dishwasher) with an extra "beer fridge" in the garage. The cabin is set up for inside and outside cooking and eating with huge decks, front and back. The back deck has glass railings, two tables and a BBQ. There are brand new vinyl plank floors inside the cabin and it was freshly painted in 2023.
The backyard boasts a spring fed creek that is absolutely stunning and runs ice cold year round. There is an amazing fire pit area for campfires. In the summer, if there's a burning ban, we also have a portable propane fire pit so you will not go without!
We use the front yard for playing games like croquet, ladder ball and bean bag toss.
If you are adventurous, we have 4 adult kayaks and 2 child kayaks for use as well as a stand up paddle board. It's just a short walk to the launch to put the toys into the water.
In the winter, we are just a 45 minute drive from Manning Park Resort and some amazing downhill powder and some of the best cross country skiing in the world. There is an indoor pool in Hope just five minutes away. You won't be disappointed. Follow us on Instagram @stand.easy.retreat for more photos and videos.

We absolutely loved our stay!

Everything about this place is wonderful: the location (in Hope but off the "busy street", facing a beautiful mountain face, by the lake, with a babbling brook in the back), the amenities (very clean, they have everything and more that you might need), and the host was great (clear communication).

Family stay at easy

Lovely outdoor setting

This little cabin was perfect for my cousin and I while in Hope visiting family. We especially loved the well stocked kitchen and the deck overlooking the stream flowing through the beautiful backyard. The covered area with the large table was great for playing games and having a lovely dinner outside.

Hope cabin

Workers perfect retreat

This was our second time staying here. Again it was absolutely perfect. Very very clean, organized, and well set up for any occasion. Would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting luxurious comfort, while staying in Hope.

Amazing!!

The property is beautiful!!!! You never want to leave the deck! The house is in a great location and it is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. One of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had.

We loved Hope!

This cabin is very cute, very comfortable and has everything you need, including extra pillows and blankets and unlimited firewood. The area is very quiet and sitting by the creek with an evening fire in the fire pit, you feel like you are out in the wilderness. There is lots to do in and around Hope. A wonderful vacation spot for the family!

Hope Paradise

Dwayne and Kim's cottage is a wonderful weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The tranquil backyard stream will lull you into forgetting about your busy, stressful life. The cottage is clean and well appointed, not fancy but everything you need.

Perfect cozy getaway

We absolutely loved this little a-frame nestled in between mountains. The stream out the back door was the highlight. But the house itself is just so perfect for our family of five. I had envisioned it by itself on a larger property for some reason, so be aware that it is in a neighborhood with similar houses. We used the community center pool, about a 5 minute drive, and were pleasantly surprised at how new the facility was. We drove about six minutes and hiked in to Flood Falls, a totally doable walk with small kids. They loved it. We stayed three nights in this house and none of us wanted to leave. I highly recommend this Hope house for a cozy getaway.

Better than expected! Family time

We had an amazing week long stay here and enjoyed the lake, river and Othello tunnels only a short drive away. Cabin was immaculate and clean, great layout and everything we could possibly need was available. Playing board games and yard games were fun too! We very much enjoyed the back patio space in the early mornings and evenings. So peaceful & truly relaxing space! Kids and us loved the use of kayaks on the lake but didn’t catch any fish. Maybe next time :) Thanks for sharing this amazing little property with our family!

Beautiful property with so many fun things to do. The backyard is gorgeous, and having the kayaks to explore the lake is an added bonus. We can’t wait to return to this lovely spot!

Amazing!

We had an amazing time at this little cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved the yard and creek and we loved relaxing on the patio. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and kayaking and paddle boarding was so much fun. Everything you need for a great vacation and Hope has all the stores. Thanks!

I grew up in Hope and have since moved away. Our family purchased this little piece of paradise a few years back because of it's proximity to Vancouver and my strong roots in the area. We absolutely love our "retreat" and encourage you to come out and give it a try.
